Gleyber Torres

Gleyber Torres (hamstring) is not in the Tigers’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Angels.
Tigers’ manager A.J. Hinch noted that Torres was removed from Friday’s game due to minor tightness in his hamstring and that the team had already planned to give him the day off on Friday anyways. He’s tentatively expected to return to the Tigers’ lineup on Saturday.

Javier Báez

Javier Báez hit a two-run homer in a blowout win for the Tigers over the Angels on Friday.
Where has this version of Báez been? It’s sure fun to see now, and fun to see him appear to enjoy the sport of baseball again. With the two-run homer, he’s now slashing .300/.337/.467 with three roundtrippers and 14 RBI over 90 at-bats. He’s gone deep in three straight games, and while it’s understandable if fantasy managers are skeptical, it’s also not crazy to think he’s capable of being a fantasy helper in 2025. Weirder things have happened, folks.
Riley Greene

Riley Green hit two homers in the ninth inning while helping the Tigers to a 9-1 win over the Angels on Friday.
In a game that was tied at 1-1 in the ninth, Greene hit a solo blast to give the Tigers a lead. Later that inning, he clobbered a three-run blast to up that score to 9-1. Baseball is weird. Greene has homered eight times in 2025 with a slugging percentage of .504. He’s one of the most underrated young hitting stars in the sport.
Tarik Skubal

Tarik Skubal worked six innings of one-run baseball while striking out eight but didn’t get a decision Friday against the Angels.
Skubal gave up a leadoff homer to Zach Neto, but after that the southpaw was back to business. He would allow just three more hits in the contest — four in total — and he didn’t walk anyone. Skubal has struck out 19 batters over his last 12 innings, and he’s lowered his ERA to a healthy 2.21 on the campaign. He pitches in Colorado next week, but it’s hard to see that lineup giving him trouble.

Brice Turang was removed from Friday’s game against the Cubs early due to illness.
Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy told reporters after the game that Turang was still feeling the effects from his recent illness and was having trouble breathing, which is why he was pulled from the game. It wouldn’t be too surprising to see him get another day to rest on Saturday, but he shouldn’t be looking at any sort of extended absence. The 25-year-old speedster should be considered day-to-day.
