No word yet on what exactly happened here, but Lopez was replaced when the Marlins took the field in the top half of the second inning. Expect the Marlins to provide an update on his status shortly.

Wagaman proved to be a tough out for Gunnar Hoglund and the Athletics’ bullpen in what was an otherwise quiet night for the Marlins’ lineup. Apart from his three hits, he also had three batted balls hit harder than 100 mph and it’s getting difficult to ignore his hot start to the season. He has an acceptable .267 batting average and .731 OPS with solid underlying plate discipline and power metrics while playing every day. That’s a worthwhile player in a lot of leagues.

Bellozo is a real throwback type of pitcher, albeit an ineffective one. He didn’t throw a pitch over 92.7 mph in this game – which is high for him – and forced just three swings-and-misses. Instead, he just moved his cutter all around the strike zone and forced as much soft contact as he could against this talented Athletics lineup. That strategy will often force Bellozo to nibble though and he totally lost the zone during the second inning where he walked three batters, hit another, and gave up a RBI single to Nick Kurtz. His limited skill set makes him uninteresting for even the deepest fantasy leagues.

Lopez sustained the injury while in the field during the first inning of Friday’s battle against the Athletics. He’s currently undergoing further evaluation. Javier Sonaja replaced him at second base on Friday night and could be in line for increased action there if Lopez winds up missing any time.

Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy told reporters after the game that Turang was still feeling the effects from his recent illness and was having trouble breathing, which is why he was pulled from the game. It wouldn’t be too surprising to see him get another day to rest on Saturday, but he shouldn’t be looking at any sort of extended absence. The 25-year-old speedster should be considered day-to-day.

Tigers’ manager A.J. Hinch noted that Torres was removed from Friday’s game due to minor tightness in his hamstring and that the team had already planned to give him the day off on Friday anyways. He’s tentatively expected to return to the Tigers’ lineup on Saturday.

Edman sat out Wednesday’s game due to right ankle discomfort and after Thursday’s off-day he’s still feeling it a bit so he’ll get another breather. At the moment, it doesn’t sound like anything that’s going to require a trip to the injured list, but if it lingers through the weekend the Dodgers’ hand may ultimately be forced. Miguel Rojas will start in his place at second base on Friday night and will bat ninth against Grant Holmes and the Braves.
