Realmuto delivered a solo shot off Justin Verlander in the first inning. It was 387 feet, but since it was just a little left of dead center, it was a homer in only seven ballparks, according to Statcast. Realmuto has been hitting into bad luck this season, so he’ll take it. He’s obviously not what he used to be offensively, but he’s still a top-10 fantasy catcher. He’s greatly enhanced his fantasy value early this year by going 4-for-4 stealing bases.

Schwarber’s homer tied the game and Max Kepler hit another homer two batters later to give the Phillies the lead. It’s definitely not the outing the Diamondbacks were looking for from lefty José Castillo in his 2025 debut. Schwarber now has 10 homers and three doubles on the season.

Jordan Romano set him up with a flawless eighth. Alvarado has pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings in his last six appearances. Incredibly, he’s gone 11 straight appearances without issuing a walk. This is a guy who walked 47 batters over 55 2/3 innings in his first season in Philadelphia in 2021.

Finally, some genuine signs of life from Diaz. He was just a few feet shy of a two-homer game as his double fell just short of the wall and he scorched each of those hits at least 104 mph off the bat. He’s recorded a hit in seven of his last nine games and over that span took a paltry .404 OPS all the way up to a still very mediocre .597 OPS.

Kirk delivered a two-run single off of Logan Allen in the third inning that gave the Jays their first lead of the game at 2-1. He added another pair of singles in the contest as well. With the three-hit effort, the 26-year-old backstop is now hitting .260/.287/.354 on the young season with a pair of homers and 12 RBI.
