Beede made 13 appearances for Cleveland in 2024, allowing 13 earned runs on 16 hits in 14 innings while striking out 18 and walking nine. He has reportedly been working out at the Lion’s Den, a baseball training facility in Houston, and working out for MLB scouts. He has shifted primarily to a bullpen role since 2019 and could eventually pitch himself into some big league innings this season.

Ryan, who had significant velocity issues this spring while making his way back from a shoulder injury, averaged 94.2 mph with his heater tonight, which was up slightly from his career-best average of 93.9 mph last season. He’ll probably be a top-10 or -15 SP if he keeps that up and if the Twins start giving him some additional help. He’ll face the Orioles next.

López carried a shutout into the seventh inning before the Guardians finally broke through when he launched an ill-advised throw down the first-base line on Carlos Santana’s infield single, which allowed José Ramírez to scamper home on the play. He was charged with an additional run when Brock Stewart coughed up a three-run homer following his departure. He struck out six and didn’t hand out a free pass, but was still saddled with a loss in this one. He’ll bring a sparkling 2.25 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 26/4 K/BB ratio across 28 innings (five starts) into a home matchup on Tuesday against the Orioles.

Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy told reporters after the game that Turang was still feeling the effects from his recent illness and was having trouble breathing, which is why he was pulled from the game. It wouldn’t be too surprising to see him get another day to rest on Saturday, but he shouldn’t be looking at any sort of extended absence. The 25-year-old speedster should be considered day-to-day.
