Wyatt Langford went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and a walk against the Athletics on Tuesday.

Hitting second in his second start back from the injured list, Langford knocked a base hit in the first, then led off the third inning with a solo homer off Osvaldo Bido. He added a base hit in the sixth and drew a walk in the eighth to reach four times on the day. The 23-year-old outfielder has now logged a homer and a steal in his two games back and looks primed for a breakout season if he can avoid the injured list.

    Recap

Corey Seager hit two homers and doubled Saturday as the Rangers trounced the Tigers 10-3.

After two days off for maintenance, Seager came out and hit a 403-foot homer off Jack Flaherty in his first at-bat tonight. He later added a 393-foot shot off Tyler Holton in the seventh. The load management is annoying, but it might pay off in the end if Seager can play in 130 games this year for the first time since 2022.

    Recap

Jacob deGrom fanned 10 while holding the Tigers to two runs over five innings in a victory Saturday.

The runs scored on solo homers from Kerry Carpenter in the first and Riley Greene in the fourth. The other three hits deGrom allowed were singles, and he walked only one. He wound up with 21 whiffs, 11 on the 40 fastballs he threw and 10 on 41 sliders. It’s his first 10-strikeout game since Tommy John. He’s won three starts in a row to move to 3-1 with a 2.72 ERA, and he’ll face the Astros next.

    Recap

After 33 games without a long ball, Joc Pederson finally got on the board with a two-run homer off the Tigers’ Jack Flaherty on Saturday.

It also doubled his RBI count of the year. Pederson had been showing signs of pulling out of his slump over the last 10-14 days. It might not happen all at once now, but he’s certainly worth considering in 12-team and deeper leagues and in all leagues that count OBP instead of average.

    Recap

Trevor Larnach hit a homer that accounted for both Twins runs in a 2-1 victory over the Giants on Saturday.

Larnach hit a 108.5 mph double off Logan Webb in the first, but the Twins couldn’t capitalize then. The two-run homer came in the third, and Minnesota’s pitching staff made a 2-1 lead hold up over the rest of the evening. Larnach is batting .232/.313/.380 with six homers and 20 RBI through 39 games. It’s not great for a guy who is spending a lot of time DHing, but it seems unlikely that the Twins will be able to do better.

    Jose Altuve

    Injury

Jose Altuve left Saturday’s game against the Reds in the third inning with right hamstring tightness.

He went 0-for-1 with a walk before leaving. It’s worth noting that Altuve’s exit comes in a game where Houston is trailing by five runs, so there’s at least a chance this is precautionary. He’ll likely undergo some testing before Sunday’s finale, but it seems likely that the 35-year-old will be out of that lineup for at least that game. Brendan Rodgers has taken over at second base.

    Recap

Lars Nootbaar went 1-for-5 with a two-run double in the Cardinals’ 4-2 win over the Nationals on Saturday.

The Cardinals did all of their damage against the Nationals in the second inning on Saturday, brining in all four of their runs in the frame. Nootbaar drove in two on a double off Trevor Williams for his only hit in the game. The 27-year-old outfielder is having a solid season at the plate, slashing .243/.368/.401 with five homers, 25 runs scored, and four steals across 182 plate appearances.
