O’Neill missed Wednesday and Thursday’s contests with tightness in his neck. The outfielder is back, so Ryan O’Hearn will take his usual seat against southpaws with Andrew Abbott on the bump for the Reds.

Castellanos was removed from Thursday’s bout against the Giants with hip flexor tightness, but it was purely precautionary. The 33-year-old should be all systems go for the weekend series against Miami.

Pauley will take the roster spot of Derek Hill after Hill was placed on the IL with a wrist sprain. The 24-year-old will be a bench option who could see time against left-handed pitchers while on the active roster.

Hill, 29, will be out of action for at least a week, and likely won’t return until near the end of April or beginning of May. With Hill unavailable, Jesus Sanchez and Dane Myers will likely see the bulk of playing time in center for Miami.

Dobbins will be making the start Friday against the White Sox. The 25-year-old will be facing the worst team in the sport, which is good, but isn’t exactly known for his dominant stuff, which makes it a little more risky in terms of streaming.

Fulmer is removed from the active and 40-man roster to make room for Hunter Dobbins. Fulmer, 32, will now hit the waiver wire, but there’s a good chance he’ll go unclaimed. He’ll then need to decide if he wants to report back to Triple-A, or elect free agency.

Taylor made just one appearance, but he didn’t record an out while giving up three runs against the Reds on Wednesday. The right-hander will likely be an option again for Seattle at some point, but for now, they feel more comfortable with Casey Lawrence as a multi-inning relief option.

Spiers is up and will start Sunday’s game against the Orioles. The 27-year-old struggled in his two starts earlier this year while allowing eight runs over 9 1/3 innings, and wouldn’t be a great streaming option on paper. Probably off paper, too.

Lodolo will be back before his scheduled start Monday against the Marlins, it appears. Carson Spiers was recalled from Triple-A to take Lodolo’s place on the active roster, and he’ll start Sunday’s finale against Baltimore.

Nootbaar will take a seat with the Cardinals going righty-heavy against David Peterson and the Mets. Victor Scott II will get the start in left field and bat leadoff in Nootbaar’s place.

Young will be making his MLB debut against Cincinnati. The 26-year-old has forged a 2.76 ERA and impressive 0.92 WHIP over three starts with Norfolk; thanks in large part to a 17/2 K/BB over 16 1/3 innings. He’d be a risky streaming option, but Baltimore should be able to give him some run support for those hunting for a win.

Pop was released by the Blue Jays at the start of April. The 28-year-old has had some success in the majors, but has struggled over the last two seasons. Seattle’s bullpen has struggled in 2025, so they’ll look and see if they can turn him into something useful for a very low price.

McCarthy will get his first action since Sunday after being plunked in the hand. The outfielder has scuffled with the bat in 2025, but the D-Backs will give him a shot to turn it around before handing the job full-time to Alek Thomas.

That’s three third basemen in three games since Matt Shaw was sent down; Gage Workman got the call Tuesday, and Jon Berti played the position on Wednesday. The Cubs will likely go with the hot hand if one ever materializes.

He goes into Oliver Dunn’s roster spot. Durbin was off to a decent start in Triple-A, hitting .278/.316/.482 with two homers and three steals in five attempts, and the Brewers will probably give him a real shot at third base here. It’s possible he’ll steal enough bases to be useful in mixed leagues, but his average and power numbers will likely be pretty modest.

After giving up five runs in 9 2/3 innings in two starts for Iowa, Wicks was moved to the pen for his last appearances and pitched three perfect innings with five strikeouts. He’s set to work in middle relief for now, though if he does go long this weekend, he might quickly be swapped out for a fresh arm.

Little walked four of the six batters he faced in his one appearance for the Cubs, though he wasn’t as wild as that suggests. With a 2.97 ERA in 33 1/3 major league innings to date, he probably won’t have to wait too long for another look.

Dana has allowed one run and struck out 16 in 12 innings since returning to Salt Lake after making one relief appearance for the Angels. If the team wants to carry on with Reid Detmers as a reliever, it’d be easy to imagine Dana getting a chance to replace Jack Kochanowicz in the rotation before long.

Brash, coming off Tommy John surgery, gave up three well-hit balls, but the two grounders found gloves and the double proved harmless in a quick, seven-pitch inning. The two fastballs he threw checked in at 97.1 and 96.6 mph, which is a bit down from the 98.2 mph he averaged in 2023 but still probably good enough to get outs in the Seattle bullpen. He should be activated around the end of the month.

The 21-year-old Crawford has done nothing about his extremely high groundball rate in Triple-A, but he does have a 52 percent hard-hit rate to date and his whiff rate has steadily declined even as he’s climbed levels. It’ll be fascinating to see how his game translates to the majors if he gets an opportunity in the Phillies outfield this season.

Gilbert didn’t play in any games this spring and opened the year on the minor league IL for reasons that weren’t made exactly clear, but he went 9-for-24 with two homers in six games in A-ball and now he’s back where he finished last season. Ideally, the 24-year-old would have been an option to help fill in for the injured José Siri right now. If he can stay healthy and perform, he’ll definitely be a threat to see time in center field for the Mets later this season.

Criswell struck out four in four hitless innings against the Nationals’ Triple-A affiliate in his second appearance since being sent down by the Red Sox. The right-hander, who had a 10.38 ERA in three major league relief appearances to begin the year, will likely be up and down between Boston and Worcester a few times this year.
