Allen had a solid season, with a 4.25 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and a 122/62 K/BB ratio in 156 2/3 innings. However, with the Guardians not needing as many starting pitchers, they will carry guys like Matt Festa and Kolby Allard instead. Joey Cantillo should serve as the bulk reliever in this series.

The 27-year-old southpaw struck out four batters on the afternoon while issuing a pair of free passes. He allowed a two-run double to Alejandro Osuna in the second inning that tied the game and a two-run single to Jake Burger in the third that gave the Rangers the lead. Allen got eight whiffs on 88 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 25 percent. He wraps up his regular season with an uninspiring 8-11 record, 4.25 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and a 122/62 K/BB ratio across 156 2/3 innings in 30 appearances (29 starts).

The Twins totaled seven hits in 18 scoreless innings against Allen, Kent, Slade Cecconi and Kolby Allard today. Allen struck out seven, which, incredibly enough, is a season high for him in 28 starts. It’s the first time in 72 career starts that he’s lasted eight innings and the second time he’s gotten through seven scoreless. The victory makes him 8-11 with a 4.14 ERA. He’ll likely face the Rangers next weekend, though it’s possible the Guardians could bypass him then. With the doubleheader sweep, the Guardians are now just one game back of the Tigers in the AL Central.

Allen, who allowed seven hits and struck out only two, left with a one-run lead that didn’t hold up. He’s 7-11 with a 4.43 ERA ahead of a start next week against the Tigers. These last three starts could be a factor in whether he’s assured a rotation spot next year or if he has to battle in spring training.

The 26-year-old southpaw also issued a pair of walks while striking out four batters on the evening. The Rays scratched out single runs against him in the first and fourth innings — then Allen allowed two straight singles to start the sixth inning before turning the ball over to the bullpen and both inherited runners ultimately scored.

Allen gave up six hits, walked three and struck out five. The 26-year-old left-hander was on the hook for the loss before the Guardians scored five runs over the last four innings of the game to comeback and win. Allen bounced back after allowing nine runs in his last start. He has a 4.42 ERA and 105/57 K/BB ratio in 134 1/3 innings this year. Allen is lined up to face the Red Sox on the road next week.

Allen has been really good about keeping the Guardians in games, even if he rarely wins them himself, but tonight was a big exception after 19 straight outings in which he never allowed more than four earned runs. The performance took his ERA from 3.87 to 4.35 ahead of a start next weekend against the Mariners.

Allen struck out six and walked three, but he needed 107 pitches to get through 4 2/3 innings, throwing 65 of them for strikes. He posted a 22 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW on the day and will take a 3.87 ERA into a tough start next week against the Mariners.

Allen never wins games by himself, but he gives the Guardians a chance every time out. He’s only allowed more than four earned runs once in 23 starts and that one outing was back in April. He didn’t factor into the decision tonight, so he remains 7-9 with a 3.94 ERA. The Guardians, though, did prevail and improved to 12-11 in his outings. Allen will face the Braves next time out.

The 26-year-old southpaw punched out six opposing hitters on the night, though he also issued four walks. The Mets scratched out single runs against him in each of the first two innings before Allen settled in and finished his day with three scoreless frames. He got 10 swings and misses on 88 pitches on the evening — six of those on his sweeper — while registering a CSW of 23 percent. On the season, he now holds a 4.04 ERA, a troublesome 1.37 WHIP and an 87/44 K/BB ratio across 113 2/3 innings through his first 22 appearances. He’ll square off against the Marlins his next time out at home on Tuesday.

The runs scored on homers from Jordan Beck and Michael Toglia. Allen allowed six other hits, too, and threw a career-high 113 pitches, but the Rockies couldn’t bring anyone home. He improved to 7-9 with a 4.06 ERA. The left-hander will likely face the Mets next time out.

The good news is that Allen allowed just one run over his final 5 1/3 frames. The bad news is that doesn’t mean as much when you give up three runs in the first, which he also did. The 26-year-old surrendered seven hits and four runs in a start that looked better than this line might indicate, but still not one fantasy managers are signing up for. The left-hander does offer streaming intrigue next week when he faces the Rockies in Cleveland on Tuesday.

All of the runs came in the fourth, which the A’s opened with three doubles and a single. Apart from that, Allen was quite good in striking out four and walking one. Still, it went as his fourth loss in five outings. He was 5-4 with a 4.21 ERA on this date a month ago. Now, because of the Guardians’ difficulties when it comes to scoring runs, he’s 6-8 with a 4.06 ERA. He’ll get the Orioles next.

The 26-year-old southpaw also walked two batters on the day while punching out five. The only hit that he allowed was a two-run homer to Luis Robert Jr. in the second inning. Aside from that though, he was in complete command. Allen got 13 swings and misses on 92 pitches on the night — 11 of those on his fastball — while posting a CSW of 28 percent. He concludes his first half with a 6-7 record, 4.00 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and a 70/38 K/BB ratio across 90 innings through his first 17 starts.

One of the two hits was a Spencer Torkelson homer. Still, Allen deserved better in this one. It’s the fourth time in Allen’s 16 starts that the Guardians have been shut out, and he dropped to 5-7 with a 4.07 ERA. He’s due to face the White Sox next week.

The runs all came on Nolan Gorman’s homer in the first. Allen matched his season high with six strikeouts and completed six innings for the fourth time this season, so it was a solid day overall. He’ll take a 5-6 record and a 4.27 ERA into his next start at home against the Tigers.

Allen gave up eight hits despite not surrendering a ton of hard contact. The lone extra-base hit was a groundball double. Still, Allen needs to miss more bats if he’s going to avoid having nights like this from time to time. He fanned four tonight and has 54 strikeouts in 71 2/3 innings on the season. He’ll make his next start Sunday against the Cardinals.

Allen allowed four hits and two walks, and he struck out four. He faced little opposition for the overwhelming majority start, but a two-run homer by Heliot Ramos turned an excellent start into a good one. Allen has looked solid over his last two outings, but is still hard to trust as a fantasy option. He’ll look to continue to see his 4.21 ERA diminish when he faces the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Allen received 11 runs of support today, so solo homers from Elly De La Cruz and TJ Friedl didn’t hurt him much. Since the Guardians typically employ quicker hooks with him in close games, this is just his second quality start. He has three more outings in which he’s come up one out shy of the six-inning standard. Allen is 4-4 with a 4.28 ERA overall, and he’s likely to face the Giants next.

The 26-year-old southpaw walked two batters while striking out a pair in the ballgame. He kept the Astros off the board entirely until the fifth inning where they scratched out three runs on run-scoring knocks from Jose Altuve and Christian Walker. Allen also served up a solo homer to Brendan Rodgers in the sixth. He got just four whiffs on 88 pitches on the night, posting an underwhelming CSW of just 19 percent. He’ll carry a disappointing 4.42 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and a 40/27 K/BB ratio (55 innings) into Wednesday’s home tilt against the Reds.

Just an all-around hideous day from Allen, who twice made throwing errors on comebackers from Riley Greene. He’s now failed to complete five innings five times in 10 starts (one of those was due to a rain delay, though since he’d allowed two runs in three innings, he might not have finished five anyway). His 4.31 ERA isn’t so bad, but it’d certainly be worse if not for the quick hooks. His rotation spot would be in jeopardy if the Guardians decide Parker Messick is ready for a shot.

Allen gave up seven hits and walked four, so allowing only three runs was quite an accomplishment. Scoring all of their runs in the sixth, the Guardians ended up winning the game 8-6 even though the Nationals had more hits (13-10), more extra-base hits (4-2) and more walks (7-5). Allen remains 1-2 with a 4.33 ERA through seven starts. He’ll face the Brewers next.

Allen punched out four opposing batters while issuing a pair of walks in the contest. He allowed a pair of runs, one of them earned, in the third inning on an RBI single by Alejandro Kirk. Allen then served up a solo blast to George Springer in the fifth inning. He got nine swings and misses on 104 pitches on the night — four of them on his sweeper — while posting a CSW of 32 percent. He’ll look to improve upon his 4.02 ERA and 1.53 WHIP when he squares off against the Nationals in Washington on Wednesday.

Allen had gotten off to a strong start to the season, but came back down to earth a little bit today, which is not much of a surprise given how few bats he was missing in his earlier starts. Allen walked three on the day, while striking out two and posting a 19 percent whiff rate and 20 percent CSW. He is not a recommended streamer next week against the Blue Jays.

The left-hander struck out five and walked one on the day, and seemed on his way to another win before the bullpen blew a three-run ninth inning lead. There’s nothing exceptional about what Allen is doing, but he’s pounding the strike zone with four of his five offerings and earned 20 called strikes during the game. That command-centric approach has helped him register a 2.11 ERA so far this season, but it’s tough to recommend him next weekend against the Red Sox.

He struck out six and allowed just two hits. It’s Allen’s first win since last June 20, when he improved to 8-3 in spite of a 5.23 ERA. He went on to spend most of the rest of the year in the minors, and he was expected to open up back in Triple-A this season before others faltered this spring. He has a 2.30 ERA through three starts this season, but his 11/9 K/BB in 15 2/3 innings is less impressive. He’s still not recommended in mixed leagues, though this Sunday’s start in Pittsburgh is tempting.
