Burleson smacked a two-out single off of Jacob Misiorowski in the third inning, but never advanced past first base. He then led off the fifth with another knock off of Rob Zastryzny and scored on a throwing error by Brewers’ second baseman Brice Turang. He was also hit by a pitch in the sixth inning and doubled with two outs in the eighth. With his three-hit attack, the 26-year-old is now slashing .289/.342/.466 with 18 homers, 66 RBI and five stolen bases on the season.

He was also caught stealing if you’re looking for a negative for some reason. Burleson hit his 18th homer of the season off Spencer Strider to get the Cardinals on the board. His double with his 24th, and he’s now driven in 66 runs in what has been a very solid season for the 26-year-old in 2025. If only a few other St. Louis hitters could say the same.

With Willson Contreras (shoulder) going on the IL, Burleson figures to be the starting first baseman for the Cardinals for the rest of the season. That should allow Ivan Herrera to continue to DH regularly with Pedro Pages and Jimmy Crooks splitting time at catcher. Crooks is starting on Wednesday and batting seventh.

Burleson had a hand in all of the Cardinals’ run scoring on a night where they only scored two runs. He hit an RBI triple in the sixth inning and came around to score on an RBI single by Lars Nootbaar. Burleson is hitting .283 with a .789 OPS and 63 RBI this year.

Burleson’s return was a successful one — albeit in a loss — as he took an otherwise-effective Bryan Woo deep in his first game back after missing 10 days with inflammation in his wrist. The 26-year-old has been one of the few offensive bright spots for St. Louis as he’s now hit 17 homers, driven in 62 runs, and done it while hitting an impressive .286 in the process.

Burleson needed just the 10 days off to shake his right wrist inflammation. His return as a near-everyday player seems like bad news for Jordan Walker, and things will get even worse on that front when Brendan Donovan is activated.

Burleson’s wrist has been bothering him for a bit, and the 26-year-old will hit the shelf for the next week-plus. The Cardinals selected the contract of César Prieto to take Burleson’s place on the roster.

Burleson missed a game over the weekend with a wrist injury, but showed no signs of any lingering issues on Monday. He had three balls hit 100 mph or harder, including his walk-off home run off Dennis Santana, which went 409 feet at 107.7 mph off the bat. Burleson now has 16 home runs and 60 RBI on the season and remains a fixture in the middle of the Cardinals’ lineup.

Burleson is back in left field and batting third after sitting out Friday’s contest with right wrist irritation. It doesn’t appear to be a serious concern heading into next week’s seven-game slate for the Cardinals.

Burleson will get some extra time off to rest and recover courtesy of Saturday’s off day before the Cardinals travel to face the Rays on Sunday. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day heading into the weekend.

Burleson reached base safely in four of his five plate appearances during Monday’s series opener including a game-tying fifth-inning single and a go-ahead knock in the seventh inning. The 26-year-old is hitting .393 (11-for-28) with one homer, six RBI and one steal over his last seven games.

Burleson’s 15th home run of the season was a 410-foot shot that left the bat at 106.2 mph. The 26-year-old has settled into an everyday role, starting against all five of the last left-handed pitchers that the Cardinals have faced, including today. The job security is warranted, and Burleson needs to be rostered in more leagues than he currently is.

Burleson led off the second inning with a single and scored the game’s first run on an RBI infield single off the bat of Jordan Walker. That would be all the run support that Michael McGreevy and company would require in this one. Burleson also singled in the fourth and in in the seventh. For the season, the 26-year-old outfielder is now slashing .285/.338/.453 with 14 homers, 50 RBI and four stolen bases in 400 plate appearances.

Burleson sent a third-inning pitch from Edward Cabrera 411 feet at 107.4 mph for a solo shot. It was his 14th home run of the season to go along with 48 RBI. He remains one of the most productive hitters on the Cardinals and a useful fantasy asset if you can handle him being benched against most lefties.

The homer, hit 417 feet off Stephen Kolek, gave the Cardinals’ their only runs of the day. It was one of three balls in play hit at least 105 mph off Burleson’s bat today. Unfortunately, the first of those resulted in a GIDP. Burleson is hitting .287/.337/.465 in 358 plate appearances and is second on the Cardinals in OPS (to Iván Herrera), HR and RBI (both behind Willson Contreras) in his second season as a (mostly) full-time player.

Burleson managed to pass pregame tests on his injured right foot and has been added to the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown at Coors Field. He’ll be in right field and batting third. It’ll be Brendan Donovan moving back to second base with rookie Thomas Saggese being scratched.

The encouraging news here for the Cardinals, and fantasy managers, is that Burleson has been diagnosed with a right foot contusion after X-rays came back negative for any fractures. The 26-year-old slugger fouled a ball off his foot during Monday’s series opener and figures to miss a couple games. It’ll be Brendan Donovan shifting over to cover left field with rookie Thomas Saggese taking over at the keystone.

Burleson wasn’t sure about his status for Tuesday. If Burleson can’t go, the Cardinals could shift Brendan Donovan to the outfield and use Thomas Saggese at second base.

Burleson was lifted for a defensive replacement in the seventh inning after fouling a ball off his right knee earlier in the frame. He finished the contest 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts. The 26-year-old will presumably head for further evaluation and possibly X-rays to determine the severity of the injury. There should be an update on his status shortly.

Burleson hit just .242 with four home runs in the second half last year, but he continues to show this year that he’s one of the Cardinals’ best hitters. The 26-year-old outfielder has gone from irregular playing time to batting third in the St. Louis order. Burleson is hitting .292 with an .804 OPS and 43 RBI on the season.

The homer came off Brad Keller in the eighth. Burleson isn’t getting as many singles as usual lately, but he has six homers and 17 RBI in his last 17 games. Fantasy leaguers surely approve. Burleson is slugging .472 this season, up from .390 as a rookie in 2023 and .420 last season.

Burleson and Nootbaar take a seat for Sunday afternoon’s matinee with lefty Logan Allen on the mound for Cleveland. It’ll be Brendan Donovan and Garrett Hampson in the corner outfield spots with rookie Thomas Saggese getting an opportunity at the keystone.

Burleson’s home run was No. 10 for him on the year. The 26-year-old outfielder hit a two-run shot off Luis Ortiz in the third inning. Burleson got off to a slow start this year, but has heated up with a .337 average, six home runs and 19 RBI in 24 games in the month of June. As long as he keeps hitting, the Cardinals won’t be rotating him out of the lineup as they did earlier this year.

Burleson got the scoring started in this one, taking Brent Suter deep for a two-run homer in the first inning. He later drove in a third run with a base hit in the eighth. The 26-year-old is hitting an excellent .314/.352/.473 with eight homers and 30 RBI across 237 plate appearances.

Burleson also had two hits in the first game today, and he finished the three-game series 7-for-13 with two homers, raising his OPS from .764 to .814. He’s making it really difficult for the Cardinals to ever rotate him out of the lineup, which seems like bad news for Jordan Walker.

With Jordan Walker back and Nolan Gorman making a case for more at-bats, Burleson is going to be challenged for playing time again. However, he’s been one of the Cardinals’ most consistent threats over the five-plus weeks, with his OPS jumping from .638 on May 9 to .789 now. He’s now started 10 games in a row, even facing a couple of lefties during the span.

Burleson, who is hitting .380 (19-for-50) with three homers, seven RBI and one steal over his last 15 games, takes a seat with rookie southpaw Noah Cameron toeing the rubber in this one. He went 3-for-4 with a homer and reached base safely in four of his five plate appearances on Tuesday night. It’ll be Ryan Vilade getting his first start after being called up earlier this week.

Burleson singled with two outs in the second inning and then rode home on Nolan Gorman’s two-run blast. He then capped off a five-run uprising in the third inning with a 428-foot (106.8 mph EV) two-run shot off of Michael Lorenzen that made it a 7-2 ballgame. That would be the extent of the Cardinals’ offense however. With his two-hit night, the 26-year-old is now hitting .291/.341/.430 with five long balls and 18 RBI on the season.
