Buehler struck out two opposing hitters in the ballgame. All three of the hits that he did allow in the contest were singles. The only real threat against him came in the third inning as the Marlins loaded the bases with two outs, but Buehler battled back to get Liam Hicks on a pop out to second to end the inning. The 31-year-old right-hander got seven whiffs on 74 pitches on the night, posting an underwhelming CSW of just 20 percent. He concludes the regular season with a 10-7 record and an underwhelming 4.93 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and a 92/61 K/BB ratio over 126 innings in 26 appearances (24 starts) between the Red Sox and Phillies.

Buehler piggybacked with Taijuan Walker, with Walker going the four and Buehler getting the next four; minus one out. That allowed Buehler to get the win, but he was deserving of that W while allowing just two hits and two walks and striking out three. The 31-year-old will likely pitch in a similar role with Walker on Thursday against the Marlins, although it’s possible Philadelphia could play with the rotation to end the season.

After being released by the Red Sox and not pitching for nearly three weeks, Buehler turned in a solid start here. It wasn’t flashy by any means as he mixed six different pitches to flank his fastball, but it was effective against this poor Royals lineup. The kitchen sink approach worked well for him as he was able to vary his pitch usage in every different count to keep the opposing hitters off-balance. If he takes another turn in the rotation, it’ll likely come next Friday against the Diamondbacks.

Buehler is up and will make the start Friday against Kansas City. The 31-year-old was signed to a minor-league deal by the Phillies at the end of August, and now will get a chance to help the Philadelphia rotation. Buehler was awful in his time with the Red Sox as seen in a 5.84 ERA, but he’s obviously had plenty of success at the highest level. Fantasy managers probably don’t wanna take the risk with this outing, however.

The 31-year-old hurler will report to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The Phillies seem to be hopeful that he’ll be able to work out his issues there before joining the bullpen later in the season and sticking through the postseason where he has had an aptitude for dominance in the past.

Buehler was signed to a one-year $21 million deal, and very little went right. In 23 appearances — 22 of those starts — he forged a 5.45 ERA and 84/55 K/BB ratio over his 112 1/3 innings. It’s likely another team will give Buehler a chance in 2025 because of his previous success, but fantasy managers should remain skeptical until proven otherwise.

There had been rumblings about the possible change on Thursday and now it appears to be official, for now at least. It doesn’t sound like they have a plan yet on whether he’ll be used in one-inning spurts as a late-inning guy, or if he’ll strictly be used as a long man until he starts to get right. Either way, his already limited fantasy utility is now gone.

The 31-year-old hurler has not performed as the Red Sox had hoped when the inked him to a one-year $21 million contract over the winter, going 7-7 with a disappointing 5.40 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and an 82/54 K/BB ratio across 110 innings through his first 22 starts. We’ll have to wait and see if he’s actually used out of the bullpen over the weekend to know for sure that he won’t be taking the ball on Monday against the Orioles in Baltimore.

Buehler allowed four hits, walked four and struck out four in his latest of a long line of uninspiring performances. Maybe he could contribute out of the pen, but it’s time for the Red Sox to move on from him in the rotation, with Kyle Harrison being the obvious candidate to take his spot. Buehler is 7-7 with a 5.40 ERA and an ugly 82/54 K/BB in 110 innings this season.

Buehler gave up a Jeremy Peña homer as part of a two-run first and then retired 15 out of 16 batters until there were two outs in the sixth, when he walked Victor Caratini and gave up a homer to Yainer Diaz. The first homer would have been a double in most ballparks, but the second was a no-doubter hit 415 feet to left-center. The loss leaves Buehler 7-7 with a 5.43 ERA. The Red Sox might want to think about replacing him with Kyle Harrison, but he’ll probably stay in the rotation and face the Orioles next week.

Nine hits, three walks and no strikeouts for Buehler, making it a miracle that he allowed only three runs. He was aided by double-play balls in the second and fourth, and Justin Wilson was able to strand two runners in a fifth inning that the Red Sox simply couldn’t trust Buehler to finish, even though they had a three-run lead. It’s not going to happen just yet, but the Red Sox might need to think about making Buehler a reliever at some point here. He’s managed just six quality starts in 19 tries while going 6-6 with a 5.74 ERA this season.

Buehler came out of the gates firing against his old team, but the command seemed to leave him in the third inning. On the day, Buehler struck out four but walked five and posted just a 46 percent zone rate while throwing just 56 of his 104 pitches for strikes. The veteran is leaning on the cutter and four-seam fastball to get ahead in the count, but he has no real secondary pitches that miss bats. Buehler has a 5.72 ERA on the season and is in jeopardy of losing his spot in the rotation if the Red Sox acquire a starter at the deadline. If he does remain in the rotation, he will start against an Astros team that may still be without Yordan Alvarez, Jeremy Pena, and Isaac Paredes.

It was one of the best starts of the season for Buehler, who walked one, struck out four, and threw 61 of his 89 pitches for strikes. He led with secondaries in this one, throwing his slider and curve 53 percent of the time. The slider was tremendous as a strike pitch but didn’t generate a single swinging strike, and Buheler posted just a 15 percent whiff rate and 25 percent CSW overall. The surface-level stats were obviously strong, but we wouldn’t get overly excited since Buehler didn’t showcase much strikeout upside in this one, and he’s set to face the Dodgers this weekend.

The runs scored on homers from Ha-Seong Kim and Junior Caminero. Buehler, who struck out only two, hung on to put up just his second quality start in 10 outings since coming off the IL in May. Both of those were against the Rays, oddly enough. He closes out the first half 6-6 with a 6.12 ERA.

Buehler tossed two scoreless innings before giving up an unearned run following an error in the third. Three hits and a groundout brought a second run in to score in the fourth. A double and a base hit to start the sixth would score a third run and end the day for Buehler at 100 pitches with two strikeouts. The 30-year-old right-hander holds a 6.25 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and a 61/32 K/BB ratio across 72 innings. With Tanner Houck expected to return from the injured list, Buehler’s spot in the rotation could be in jeopardy.

Buehler gave up a pair of solo homers in the first, then retired 10 in a row. The next batter he faced in the fourth had a soft line drive single and everything unraveled afterwards; Buehler walked Ernie Clement, gave up an RBI single and then walked two more to force in another run. The inning only ended because Carlos Narváez picked off Tyler Heineman at first. Buehler was still at just 72 pitches for the day, but the Red Sox didn’t send him back out. He’s given up 14 runs over 11 1/3 innings in his last three starts, and it might be time for a mercy IL stint here. If not, he’ll face the Nationals next weekend.

Buehler just couldn’t find the strike zone Monday, as he ended up walking seven batters and landed just 46-of-94 pitches for strikes. In addition to those free passes, he also hit Zach Neto with the bases loaded to force in a run. It’s too bad as the 30-year-old’s stuff was fine, but when you have that much self-inflicted damage, these things tend to happen. Buehler now has an unseemly 6.29 ERA on the season, and his first season with the Red Sox is at the very least disaster-adjacent. His next chance to turn things around will be Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Buehler stranded two runners in the first inning, then was hit for five runs in the second, including a grand slam with two outs by Cal Raleigh. Raleigh would end Buehler’s day in the fourth with a one-out, two-run double. The 30-year-old right-hander will take a 5.95 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, and a 53/22 K/BB ratio across 59 innings into a start against the Angels in Anaheim on Monday.

It wasn’t always pretty, but Bueheler bulldogged his way to a tough-fought quality start here. He needed a big bounceback performance after being lit up by the Yankees last time out and delivered. His cutter got him out of a few jams and was his ace in the hole to force weak contact or nab a strike when he was falling behind in the count. It’s funny to think about the pitcher he once was pumping upper-90s fastballs at the top of the zone to the guy he is now working the edges with sinkers and cutters to get outs by any means necessary. He’s scheduled to face the Mariners next time out.

Too bad the Bombers couldn’t do that seven months ago. Buehler might not have deserved it anyway, but he didn’t have much luck tonight. Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s three-run homer came on a curve well below the knees and hit the top of the wall before bouncing over. Anthony Volpe’s three-run homer was a 369-footer that would have left three ballparks. Buehler dropped to 4-4 with a 5.18 ERA ahead of a start at home next week against Tampa Bay.

Buehler had good velocity and struck out six today, but he gave up 10 hits and 11 hard-hit balls, two of them homers. The loss leaves him 4-3 with a 4.44 ERA. He’s a mediocre mixed-league play most weeks and a bad one with his next start coming at Yankee Stadium.

Buehler wasn’t bad, but he wasn’t particularly good either. He didn’t allow much hard contact apart from a solo home run to Dylan Carlson, but he also recorded just a 15 percent whiff rate and 22 percent CSW. He struggled to find the zone with his four-seam fastball and sweeper, which led to few swinging strikes on the day. It’ll be tough to start him against the Braves next week.

Wow. Buehler was tossed by home plate umpire Mike Estabrook for arguing balls and strikes during the middle of Juan Soto’s third-inning at-bat. Red Sox manager Alex Cora was also ejected as well. The 30-year-old righty threw just 52 pitches (29 strikes) over 2 1/3 scoreless innings during his return from the injured list. He struck out four and only issued one walk. His unexpected early exit puts an incredible strain on Boston’s already overworked bullpen and could trigger some roster moves ahead of Wednesday’s series finale.

Buehler returns to Boston’s rotation to start Tuesday’s showdown against the Mets at Fenway Park following a nearly three-week stint on the shelf recovering from shoulder bursitis. The 30-year-old veteran has looked sharp this season in his Red Sox debut, compiling a respectable 4.28 ERA across 33 2/3 innings (six starts).

That series takes place between May 19-21. Buehler was placed on the injured list May 2, so a return would be only slight later than the minimum stint on the IL for the bursitis in his right shoulder. It seems likely Hunter Dobbins will be the starter demoted when Buehler is back on the bump.

Buehler told reporters he’d pitch through the issue if it were later in the season, but he doesn’t want to take any chances at this early stage of the year. He added that he’s hoping it’ll be a minimum stint on the injured list, which should put him back in Boston’s rotation by mid-May. It’ll be prospect Hunter Dobbins making at least one additional start in his absence.

The 30-year-old hurler allowed three runs over six frames in a victory over the Guardians on Saturday. When it came time to throw his side session this week though, something didn’t feel right which prompted the Red Sox to take a look at his shoulder. Stay tuned, but at least his scheduled start on Friday against the Twins seems to be in serious jeopardy.
