Justin Dean makes the roster in his place. This suggests the Dodgers will typically go with an Andy Pages-Tommy Edman-Teoscar Hernandez outfield in October. Conforto hit .199/.305/.333 in 486 plate appearances this season. He came in at .246/.347/.344 in September.

Conforto finally snapped a scoreless tie in the seventh inning with an RBI single off of Trevor McDonald that plated Max Muncy. Unfortunately, that lead would be short lived and the Dodgers weren’t able to muster any additional offense. It has been a rough season overall for Conforto in his first year with the Dodgers, he’s slashing a woeful .203/.304/.342 with 12 homers and 36 RBI in 466 plate appearances.

Conforto didn’t even start the game with left-hander Robbie Ray on the hill for the Giants, but he entered as a pinch-hitter in the fifth inning and delivered a two-run single that extended the Dodgers’ lead to 5-1. Conforto also singled in the sixth inning and then added an RBI single off of J.T. Brubaker in the eighth inning. With his three-hit attack, the 32-year-old outfielder is now hitting .200/.305/.336 with 11 homers and 34 RBI over 453 plate appearances in what has been a disappointing season with the Dodgers.

Conforto was responsible for the only run of the game for the Dodgers, as he homered off Justin Verlander in the seventh to tie the game at a run a piece. The outfielder has gone deep 11 times, but even with the roundtripper he’s slashing an ugly .193/.297/.331 in his first season with Los Angeles.

Conforto extended the Dodgers’ lead to 5-1 with a solo homer in the eighth inning. The 32-year-old has homered 10 times while driving in 29 runs over 117 games. Conforto has been a disaster in his first year with the Dodgers, and it’s hard to imagine this is much more than a one-off rather than a sign of things to come.

Both knocks were nice line-drive singles for Conforto, who needs every hit he can muster to ensure that he finishes the season as a starter against right-handed pitching. The two-hit game tonight was his first since July 27, and the two-RBI game was his first since July 11.

Conforto was removed from Saturday’s game after being hit in the knee by a pitch. He probably would have gotten the afternoon off anyways on Sunday with left-hander Eric Lauer on the mound for the Blue Jays. He’s considered day-to-day.

Conforto is now 16-for-58 (.276) in July with three home runs, eight runs scored, and seven RBI. The veteran has shown some flashes at times this season, but he has yet to put together a consistently strong stretch. He had been just 4-for-18 since coming out of the All-Star break, so this game masks what had been a slow start to the second half. The Dodgers could look to add another outfielder at the trade deadline, which would put Conforto’s job in jeopardy, but he can be added in deeper fantasy leagues just in case that doesn’t come to fruition.

A day after hitting a home run in San Francisco, Conforto came up big against the Giants, knocking three base hits on the day and scoring both runs for the Dodgers in their tight 2-1 victory. The 32-year-old outfielder is slashing .185/.299/.323 with eight homers, 36 runs scored, and 23 RBI over 304 plate appearances.

Conforto doubled in the third inning, then gave the Dodgers the lead with a three-run blast off Germán Márquez in the fourth. It was just the second home run this month for Conforto and his fifth of the season as he’s struggled at the plate, hitting .171/.298/.290 with 28 runs scored across 258 plate appearances.

Conforto hit his second homer on Apr. 5, finishing that game with an 1.112 OPS. Since that date, however, he’d hit .133/.279/.172 with no homers and just one RBI in 154 plate appearances over 41 games. The Dodgers have remained patient with him. Perhaps these next few weeks will tell us if it’s going to pay off or not.

Conforto reached on a one-out single off of Colin Rea in the second inning and came around to score the game’s first run on a two-out RBI single off the bat of Enrique Hernández. He then punched a single into center to lead off the sixth inning and scored the game-tying run on a sacrifice fly by Max Muncy. The 32-year-old outfielder is off to a slow start in his first season with the Dodgers, slashing just .224/.345/.429 with two long balls and five RBI.
