Very impressive. Yesavage was brought up Monday for that first ever MLB start, and to say he held his own is an understatement. He gave up an RBI double in the first to Yandy Diaz, and from that point on the 2024 first-round pick dominated the Tampa Bay lineup. He generated a whopping 19 swings and misses among his 69 pitches while landing 49 of those offerings for strikes. Sensational. The question now is if Yesavage will make another start for Toronto. Nothing is scheduled yet, but he sure seems deserving of another outing or two.

Yesavage will make his major-league debut on Monday against the division-rival Rays following a meteoric rise through four minor-league levels in his professional debut. The 22-year-old top prospect posted a sparkling 3.12 ERA with a staggering 41 percent strikeout rate over 98 innings and brings enough swing-and-miss upside to warrant immediate attention in all fantasy formats. He’s not expected to face workload limits down the stretch, though it remains unclear whether he’ll be used as a traditional starter or a multi-inning relief weapon.

It’s an extremely challenging assignment at extremely hitter-friendly George M. Steinbrenner Field, but Yesavage offers enough strikeout upside to make him worth the gamble for fantasy managers, even in shallow formats. The 22-year-old top prospect has posted an impressive 3.12 ERA and 41 percent strikeouts rate across 98 innings over four minor-league levels this season in his professional debut. Schneider added that the Yesavage doesn’t have any workload restrictions and could continue as a traditional starter or shift to a bulk relief role, depending on how things progress over the final two weeks. It’s easy to envision the hard-throwing prospect as a multi-inning relief weapon for Toronto in the postseason. He’s worthy of a speculative pickup in all fantasy leagues.

Yesavage gets the call to the majors after throwing three perfect frames earlier this week in his latest outing on the doorstep of the majors and should inject some life into Toronto’s struggling bullpen. The 22-year-old top prospect has posted an impressive 3.12 ERA and 41 percent strikeouts rate across 98 innings over four minor-league levels this season in his professional debut after being selected 20th overall in the 2024 MLB Draft out of East Carolina. He’ll join the Blue Jays’ pitching mix at some point in the coming days and offers some fantasy intrigue in deeper mixed leagues based solely on his strikeout upside, even in a limited role.

This is fun. Toronto’s bullpen has been an unmitigated disaster recently which is likely why Yesavage is being considered as a potential multi-inning relief weapon for the postseason. The 22-year-old strikeout artist has blossomed into one of the top pitching prospects in baseball and would be an intriguing live arm for the Blue Jays to deploy in the playoffs. We’ll see.

Control isn’t typically an issue for Yesavage, but he has ABS to contend with now. The 2024 first-round pick was moved up to Triple-A this week after posting a 3.01 ERA and a 134/30 K/BB in 80 2/3 innings at lower levels this season.

Will there be a fourth? Yesavage had a 4.50 ERA and a 46/11 K/BB in 30 innings over eight outings for Double-A New Hampshire. He has a 3.01 ERA and a 134/30 K/BB over 80 2/3 innings overall this year. The Blue Jays don’t seem likely to need him as a starter while already possessing five reliable options and having Shane Bieber set to debut later this month. Still, injuries could strike, or the Jays could decide to see what Yesavage could offer out of the pen in September.

It’s notable that Atkins didn’t outright dismiss the possibility that last year’s first-round selection could wind up pitching in the majors at some point in the second half. Yesavage’s meteoric rise hasn’t slowed down at all since being promoted earlier this month to Double-A New Hampshire as he’s allowed just five runs with a 16/8 K/BB ratio over 11 2/3 innings in three starts. The dynamic 21-year-old has compiled a sparkling 2.45 ERA and 104/27 K/BB ratio across 62 1/3 innings (14 starts) this season for three different minor-league teams.

One of the fastest-rising pitching prospects in the fantasy landscape this season, Yesavage heads to the upper minors after recording a pristine 2.13 ERA and 88/19 K/BB ratio across 50 2/3 innings (11 starts) between High-A Vancouver and Low-A Dunedin. The hard-throwing 21-year-old righty was the 20th pick in the 2024 MLB Draft and has already ascended to a top-50 range prospect for dynasty purposes.

Yesavage has looked like one of the top pitching prospects in baseball during his professional debut after being selected 20th overall in last year’s MLB Draft. The 21-year-old has recorded a microscopic 1.46 ERA and 24/10 K/BB ratio across 12 1/3 innings (three starts) since being promoted to High-A Vancouver a couple weeks ago. He boasts a 79/18 K/BB ratio over 45 2/3 innings overall this season in the lower minors. He’s a well-known commodity in dynasty formats, but he’s going to be mainstream fantasy radar screens by the end of the year.
