The outright assignment paves the way for Fedde to potentially return to Milwaukee at some point in the postseason, if needed, as emergency relief depth. The 32-year-old veteran registered a surprising 3.38 ERA across 16 innings of work over seven relief appearances after signing with Milwaukee in late August.

The decision to jettison Fedde comes as a bit of a surprise since the 32-year-old veteran was thought to be in the mix for a postseason roster spot after compiling a solid 3.38 ERA across 16 innings of work over seven relief appearances since arriving in Milwaukee back in late August. He figures to pass through waivers unclaimed and could still wind up appearing in the postseason if he accepts an outright assignment.

Fedde was thrown directly into the fire by his new club after being acquired today and asked to fill in for Quinn Priester, who was scratched. He followed Aaron Ashby – who was nasty in two innings of work – and pitched well enough to keep his team in the game. He threw his changeup less often than in any other start this year and while we shouldn’t expect it, no one would be surprised if the Brewers could coax a somewhat effective stint out of Fedde here.

Fedde has been highly ineffective in 2025 and was awful with Atlanta (8.10 ERA) in his five appearances, but Milwaukee will give the 32-year-old a shot. He’s taking the roster spot — but not role — of Trevor Megill, with Megill hitting the injured list with a flexor strain. Fedde could make starts for the Brew Crew, but also may just work as a multi-inning reliever. Either way, fantasy managers shouldn’t be too interested.

Fedde walked three and struck out five, and now has a 5.52 ERA on the season. Chris Sale (ribs) looked good in his rehab start in Triple-A on Sunday and may need one more start before he comes back and takes Fedde’s place in the rotation. We would not use Fedde in any fantasy leagues.

Fedde held the Marlins scoreless through three innings before running into trouble in the fourth. Miami would bring four runs across on a walk and four hits. Fedde would toss one more scoreless frame before his day was done at 102 pitches. He struck out four. The 32-year-old right-hander will take a 5.40 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, and a 70/55 K/BB ratio across 116 2/3 innings into a start against the Guardians in Cleveland on Friday.

The runs all scored on Isaac Collins’ homer in the fourth. Fedde generated a lot of soft contact otherwise, but the 87-pitch outing produced zero strikeouts and just two missed swings. He has a 5.32 ERA and a dreadful 14% strikeout rate, but at least he should have KBO suitors if no major league teams come calling this winter. If he stays in the rotation, he’ll face the Marlins this weekend.

The 32-year-old right-hander also issued a pair of walks on the evening while punching out three opposing hitters. He served up a solo homer to Vinnie Pasquantino in the opening inning, then the Royals tacked on three additional runs against him in the second inning. Fedde settled in after that, but it was already too late. He got nine swings and misses on 78 pitches on the evening, registering a CSW of 26 percent. Given their lack of options, Fedde should continue to take the ball every fifth day for the Braves despite his troublesome 5.33 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 66/49 K/BB ratio over 106 1/3 innings on the season. He’ll do battle against the Brewers his next time out at home on Monday.

Fedde was acquired from the Cardinals on Sunday night after being designated for assignment following a 5.22 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 20 starts this season. It had been thought that Braves pitching prospect Hurston Waldrep would be called up to start on Tuesday, but that does not appear to be the plan as of now.

We know that Fedde’s trade value wasn’t at its peak, and we’ll wait to see what player the Cardinals ultimately get in return if they get one, but this feels like a situation where they were willing to flip him for literally anything that they could get. The Braves were in desperate need of viable arms to add to their big league rotation after losing Chris Sale, Spencer Schwellenbach and Grant Holmes to the injured list, so this move makes a ton of sense for them as well.

The team was hoping to get something for him in a trade, but there was simply no value. Tuesday night’s ugly loss to the Rockies where Fedde allowed six runs over three innings may have been the final straw as he holds a bloated 5.22 ERA and 1.50 WHIP through 20 starts. Cardinals players, like Willson Contreras, also began to publicly call for Michael McGreevy to stay on the big-league roster, so the Cardinals could not afford to send him back down and keep Fedde in the rotation. If McGreevy is given a regular spot in the rotation, he would immediately be on the radar in deeper fantasy leagues as a plus-command pitcher with a good defense behind him.

Fedde was hit around in Colorado. He surrendered a solo homer to Mickey Moniak in the first inning. The Rockies brought two more runs in on a walk, single, and a double in the second before Ryan McMahon took Fedde deep for a three-run blast in the third inning. That would do it for the 32-year-old right-hander, ending his day with a 5.22 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and a 63/47 K/BB ratio across 101 2/3 innings. He’ll take on the Marlins in St. Louis on Monday.

He surrendered two homers and struck out just one. Still, this rates as his best outing in weeks, as he’d given up 17 runs over 10 innings in his previous three starts. He had a 3.54 ERA on June 19, but he’s finishing the first half at 4.83, and he’d have to turn it around immediately after the break in order to regain some trade value for the Cardinals.

Fedde has been hit extremely hard in each of his last two starts, but he’ll be given at least one more shot in the rotation to see if he can get back on track. Marmol admitted that there could be other reasons for the team wanting to keep him in the rotation, as Fedde was supposed to be a trade chip before the deadline prior to his recent struggles.

The 32-year-old right-hander also issued four walks in the abbreviated outing and didn’t record a single strikeout. The Cubs scratched out a single run in the first inning, then Fedde allowed a double and a pair of walks before exiting in the second — two of which eventually scored against the bullpen. He got just two swings and misses on 53 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 21 percent. Fedde now holds a troublesome 4.79 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 57/45 K/BB ratio over 94 innings on the season. Not only has his trade value diminished greatly over his last two starts, but his spot in the Cardinals’ rotation could also now be in jeopardy as well.

Things unraveled quickly on Fedde in the fifth inning as the Pirates tagged him for six runs on seven hits in the disastrous frame. He failed to record a strikeout over five innings and walked three batters. It was the third time this season that he’s allowed at least seven earned runs with a pair of those outings coming in the last week. He’ll square off against the Cubs’ high-powered lineup on Sunday at Wrigley Field.

Fedde never settled into this one. Ian Happ took him deep on the first pitch of the game, then the Cubs rallied for three more in the second, Kyle Tucker hit a long home run to start the third, and he was pulled in the fourth with two runs already home and the bases loaded. Overall, he allowed 12 hard-hit balls while forcing just four swings-and-misses. It’s difficult to have a start much worse than this one. He’s scheduled to face the Pirates and these same Cubs in a two-start week coming up.

Fedde drew the starting assignment for the opening contest of Thursday’s doubleheader and departed on the hook for a potential loss against his former club after giving up a go-ahead single to Miguel Vargas in the fifth inning. Fortunately, the Cardinals offense wound up rallying in the eighth to spare him. He finished with four strikeouts and only issued a pair of walks. The 32-year-old righty has struggled to miss bats this season, recording just 55 punchouts over 84 innings of work. However, he’s been a decent ratio stabilizer with a respectable 3.54 ERA and 1.30 WHIP through 15 starts. He’ll square off against the Cubs on Tuesday in his next outing.

Fedde allowed just four hits and a walk, and he struck out five. This is not a terrible line, but the 32-year-old was better than it indicates for most of the start. He gave up just one run over the first five frames before a pair were charged to him in the sixth. Unfortunately, the Cardinals couldn’t solve Freddy Peralta, so it’s another loss for Fedde; dropping him to 3-6 on the season. He gets a very friendly matchup on paper next week against his former team in the White Sox.

The game was still scoreless when Fedde exited with two on in the sixth. Steven Matz replaced him then and stranded both runners. Fedde gave up four hits and produced just four missed swings in the 99-pitch outing today, but the Dodgers never broke through against him. They ended up going 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position over the course of the 2-1 loss. Fedde will make his next start Thursday or Friday against the Brewers.

Fedde gave up four hits, walked three and struck out five. The 32-year-old right-hander completed six innings for the first time since his complete game shutout against the Nationals in early May. Fedde has a 44/29 K/BB ratio in 68 1/3 innings this year. His 4.85 xFIP is more than a full run higher than his 3.82 ERA. Fedde is best left on fantasy benches for his start next weekend against the Dodgers at home.

Fedde threw 14 2/3 scoreless innings over starts against the Nationals and Phillies earlier this month, but he’s given up nine runs and three homers over 10 innings his last two times out. The loss leaves him 3-4 with a 3.90 ERA. He’ll likely face the Rangers in Texas next weekend.

The 32-year-old right-hander struck out two batters on the night and didn’t allow a base on balls. He served up a leadoff home run to Kerry Carpenter and an RBI single to Riley Greene in the opening inning. Greene then victimized him for a two-out, two-run blast in the third inning that proved to be the difference in the ballgame. He got six swings and misses on 63 pitches on the evening — half of those on his cutter — while posting a CSW of 29 percent. He’ll look to get back on track as he carries a 3.77 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 34/25 K/BB ratio (57 1/3 innings) into Monday’s battle against the Orioles in Baltimore.

Fedde’s shutout came with a whopping 15 hard-hit balls allowed. Most of them were grounders, though, and two were double-play balls from Nathaniel Lowe. Fedde wound up allowing six hits, walking none and striking out eight in his first ever complete game. He came into the night with a 4.78 ERA and a 21/21 K/BB in 37 2/3 innings. We still wouldn’t at all recommend picking him up in mixed leagues, and he’ll be a particularly poor play with a road start in Philly coming up.

Fedde gave up six hits, walked five and struck out four. He had allowed two runs through five innings and was pulled after letting the first two batters reach in the sixth inning, with one of the inherited runners scoring against Kyle Leahy. While the win was Fedde’s second of the season, it’s been an uneven start to the year for the 32-year-old right-hander. He’ll take a 4.78 ERA into his start next weekend against the Nationals on the road, though his 5.62 xFIP suggests he’s best left on fantasy benches for now.

Steady rain in the forecast throughout Saturday evening in the St. Louis are thanks to a stalled low pressure system made this a relatively easy decision. It’ll be made up on Sunday as a split doubleheader. Saturday’s original starters – Tylor Megill and Erick Fedde – will presumably be pushed back to take the ball at some point during the twin bill.

Fedde scattered five hits, and he walked three with the same number of strikeouts. It was far from a dominant effort from the 32-year-old, but he was able to limit the damage to a two-run homer by Austin Riley in the third frame. Fedde has been solid in 2025 with a 3.33 ERA even without many strikeouts (13 in 27 innings), but he’s a risky option against the Reds on Monday.
