In every October run, there’s a swing that becomes shorthand for everything else. This one will be remembered forever — especially if the Dodgers go on to win their second straight title. Freeman put the exclamation point on the longest game in World Series history, ending a nearly seven-hour extra-inning marathon with a majestic fly ball that barely cleared the center-field fence. This game had everything: spectacular defense on both sides, heroic relief outings from unheralded arms like Toronto lefty Eric Lauer — who fired 4 2/3 shutout frames — and Dodgers righty Will Klein, who delivered four scoreless innings on a career-high 72 pitches. And, as the 19th inning loomed, Yoshinobu Yamamoto was warming up in the bullpen — just two days removed from throwing a 105-pitch complete game. The two clubs will meet again in just a few hours for Game 4 of the Fall Classic at Dodger Stadium with Shohei Ohtani taking the mound opposite Shane Bieber. Are you not entertained?

Freeman smacked a two-out double off of Kevin Gausman in the opening inning and scored the game’s first run on a two-out RBI single off the bat of Will Smith. He also drew an intentional walk in the eighth inning. It has been a bit of a rough postseason overall for the 36-year-old superstar, as he’s slashing just .222/.340/.400 with one homer, one RBI and an 11/2 K/BB ratio in 53 plate appearances.

His sixth-inning solo homer against Milwaukee reliever Chad Patrick helped power Los Angeles to a narrow series-opening win on Monday night. Here’s the full lineup: Ohtani (DH), Betts (SS), Freeman (1B), Smith (C), Muncy (3B), Hernández (RF), Tommy Edman (2B), Enrique Hernández (LF) and Andy Pages (CF).

Freeman broke a scoreless deadlock with a towering solo shot to right — his first homer of the postseason — off Brewers reliever Chad Patrick in the sixth inning. The 36-year-old veteran continues to thrive in big moments, as his blast shifted the momentum of the series opener in Milwaukee and provided just enough support for Blake Snell’s eight-inning masterpiece. Watching Freeman continue to come through in October contests feels less like seeing someone rise to the occasion and more like watching inevitability unfold.

Freeman took Bryce Miller deep with a two-run blast to give Los Angeles a 4-0 lead. He ends the 2025 season with 24 homers, 90 RBI, and a .295/.367/.502 slash. He’ll hit in the middle of the Los Angeles lineup for the Wild Card round beginning Tuesday.

The Dodgers will get a few of their key regulars a night off after clinching the National League West on Thursday night. Expect others to get the same treatment on Saturday. Dalton Rushing will start at first base in place of Freeman while Hyeseong Kim will man shortstop and Enrique Hernandez will cover the hot corner for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers won the NL West for the 12th time in 13 years, with the only miss being when they won 106 games and the Giants won 107 in 2021. Freeman is up to 23 homers on the season. At 366 homers, he’s currently tied with Lance Berkman and Aaron Judge for 87th on the career list. Those three are two behind Manny Machado and three ahead of Bryce Harper, as four of the five players continue to move their way up.

Freeman opened the scoring in the ballgame with a two-out, RBI single off of Logan Webb in the top half of the first that plated Shohei Ohtani. He then delivered an RBI single double in the ninth inning that capped off the scoring in the contest. The Dodgers offense was anemic again as Freeman’s long ball was the only run they’d squeak across in a game where Orioles’ starter Dean Kremer left after three innings with forearm tightness. Nevertheless, this was his seventh home run in his last 30 games after hitting just two combined through June and July.

Freeman sat out Wednesday’s game against the Reds due to a neck stinger. It sounds like a couple of days off did him some good though, as he’s back in there at first base and batting third against Diamondbacks’ right-hander Zac Gallen on Friday evening in Los Angeles.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Freeman is dealing with a “stinger” in his neck and shoulder area but is expected to be ready for Friday’s pivotal series opener against the fading Diamondbacks. The 35-year-old fantasy stalwart finds himself in the middle of another phenomenal campaign as he leads the entire National League with a robust .302 batting average in 120 games.

Freeman tagged Padres’ starter Nick Pivetta for a 415-foot (107.2 mph EV) solo shot in the sixth inning that evened the score at two runs apiece. He then clobbered a 346-foot (97.9 mph EV) two-run shot off of Wandy Peralta in the seventh that increased the Dodgers’ lead to 7-2. He also drew a walk in the ballgame, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances. The 35-year-old is having another very strong season offensively, slashing .302/.375/.501 with 18 homers, 75 RBI and four stolen bases.

He also drew a walk and scored a run. Freeman’s pair of doubles gives him 31 on the season. It pushes his season average above the .300 mark to .301, and his OPS is an excellent .860 over 419 at-bats. The 35-year-old hasn’t slowed down much — if at all — in his 16th season.

Freeman did his damage in the opening inning, crushing an 0-2 fastball from Yu Darvish for a 422-foot (103.9 mph EV) three-run shot to open the scoring in the contest. That would be the only hit on the day for the 35-year-old slugger. Freeman has been as solid as ever for the Dodgers this season, slashing a healthy .298/.369/.481 with 15 homers, 69 RBI and three stolen bases through his first 471 plate appearances.

Freeman could have had a much bigger day, but Jake Mangum reached over the fence to pull back what would have been a three-run home run in the ninth inning. As it stands, Freeman is up to 60 RBI on the season with a .306/.376/.485 slash line.

Freeman’s home run was his 12th of the year. He hit a solo shot off Shane Baz in the fifth inning. The 35-year-old first baseman has now hit 34 home runs in 244 games since the start of the 2024 season. He’s hitting .299 with an .853 OPS and 59 RBI on the season.

Freeman’s two-run shot was the extent of the Dodgers’ offense against Nick Martinez and the Reds bullpen here. Their lineup has been scuffling for the better part of a month now and Freeman’s struggles have been at the center of it, with barely a .600 OPS over his last 50 games.

The Dodgers’ rally started with two outs and consisted of an infield single, an intentional walk, a very unintentional walk and then Freeman’s liner to left, which was very nearly caught by Harrison Bader. It was Freeman’s second hit, though he was 0-for-5 in producing hard-hit balls; the game-winner barely missed the threshold at 94.8 mph. He’s still hitting just .224/.297/.313 this month and he has one homer in his last 60 games, but it’s all smiles today.

It’s a welcome sign for the Dodgers, and fantasy managers, that Freeman managed to avoid serious injury after being hit by a pitch on the left wrist during Sunday’s game against the Brewers. The 35-year-old veteran has been mired in an extended slump at the dish, along with most of Los Angeles’ lineup at the moment. He’ll attempt to turn things around on Monday night at Dodger Stadium with an interleague clash against Minnesota.

Freeman was removed from Sunday’s ballgame against the Brewers with a left wrist contusion after he was plunked at the plate. Fortunately, he avoided any significant injuries and shouldn’t miss any time. If he’s unable to give it a go on Monday, Dalton Rushing with start in his place at first base.

Freeman was drilled by a pitch and immediately removed himself from the game. He’ll head for precautionary X-rays to see if he’s dealing with any sort of structural damage. Expect the Dodgers to provide an update on his status as soon as more information becomes available.

Freeman opened the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI double off of left-hander Robbie Ray in the fourth inning. He then delivered a go-ahead single off of Spencer Bivens in the 11th inning that gave the Dodgers a 3-2 advantage and came around to score on an RBI single by Andy Pages. With his two-hit attack, the 35-year-old slugger finishes the first half hitting .297/.365/.476 with 10 homers, 49 RBI and one stolen base.

Freeman doubled in Shohei Ohtani in the first, and then doubled home Ohtani and Mookie Betts in the third. The 35-year-old slugger is now up to 47 RBI, and after a .200/.283/.274 slash line in June, perhaps this will be the start of another hot month.

With the score tied at 4-4, Freeman singled in Shohei Ohtani to give the Dodgers the win on a day that will best be remembered for Clayton Kershaw picking up strikeout number 3,000. Freeman is now hitting .309/.381/.500 on the season, and it seems pretty likely he’ll be joining Kershaw in Cooperstown someday.

Freeman has been struggling a bit of late, hitting .175 (10-for-57) with just one homer and two RBI over his last 15 games. He’ll take a seat for the second time in the past nine games for Los Angeles with Enrique Hernández filling in at the cold corner to face Kansas City lefty Kris Bubic.

Freeman’s home run was No. 10 on the season. The 35-year-old first baseman’s last home run was on May 11 as he went 41 games without a home run in-between. Freeman is hitting .312 with an .895 OPS and 43 RBI on the year. While his production has been solid overall, it’s an open question as to whether he’ll finish the season as strong given his age and recent injury problems.

It appears to be nothing more than a routine day of rest for the 35-year-old slugger, though Freeman has been playing through a minor quad injury. Max Muncy is also taking a seat with tough southpaw MacKenzie Gore on the hill for the Nationals. Enrique Hernandez will cover first base for Freeman while Miguel Rojas will start at the hot corner and bat ninth for the Dodgers.

Freeman is playing through the injury, but Roberts noted that the infielder won’t be able to run 100 percent. The 35-year-old has been in the lineup every day for close to two months since returning from the injured list, and as long as there’s no setback, it sounds like he’ll be able to play through this ailment.
