Henderson’s homer was of the two-run variety and came in the ninth inning with two outs and the Orioles trailing 6-1. It was his third homer in his last four games and his fifth on the season, as Henderson continues to be one of the few bright spots in an Orioles lineup that has gotten off to a slow start. After getting off to a slow start to the season himself, Henderson has now hit safely in his last four games and is slashing .321/.424/.821 in his last seven.

After Taylor Ward doubled in Blaze Alexander to tie the game, Henderson homered off Chris Murphy to make it 4-2 in the top of the eighth. Since going 0-for-8 with five strikeouts in his first two games, Henderson is hitting .297 with four homers and nine RBI in his last nine games.

Henderson is 7-for-30 with two homers and six RBI through seven games. He’s been getting the ball into the air more than usual, which could lead to more homers but maybe a weaker average over the course of the season. His current average launch angle is 20 degrees, up from 9.5 for his career.

Henderson, Team USA’s best hitter in the WBC, was 1-for-12 with zero hard-hit balls coming into the night. His homer off Jack Leiter left the bat at 105.3 mph and was protected at 410 feet.

Henderson is still searching for his first hit after two games. He struck out three times on Saturday but still contributed with a stolen base after he was hit by a pitch to get on base in the fifth inning. It’s just a matter of time before the talented 24-year-old shortstop gets going at the plate.

Colton Cowser and Jeremiah Jackson also homered for Baltimore. The 404-foot shot off Mitchell Parker was Henderson’s first Grapefruit League homer after he went 6-for-15 with two homers for Team USA. He appears set to open the season in the leadoff spot for Baltimore. If not for his broken hamate, Jackson Holliday might have kept that assignment after finishing last season there, but getting Henderson the most at-bats on the team seems like a pretty good strategy.

This one figured to feature quite a bit more offense, but as it turned out, three solo homers, including one from the Dominican Republic’s Junior Caminero, accounted for all of the scoring. Team USA won despite striking out 15 times. After Paul Skenes pitched 4 1/3 innings of one-run ball, Tyler Rogers, Griffin Jax, David Bednar, Garrett Whitlock and Mason Miller combined to shut out the Dominican Republic the rest of the way. Team USA will face the winner of Monday’s game between Venezuela and Italy on Tuesday.

Henderson gets the nod over Alex Bregman at third base to face Dominican Republic starter Luis Severino, whom he’s had plenty of success against dating back to Severino’s time with the Yankees. The other notable change for Team USA manager Mark DeRosa involves giving Will Smith the start at catcher over Cal Raleigh. Here’s the full lineup: Bobby Witt Jr. (SS), Bryce Harper (1B), Aaron Judge (RF), Kyle Schwarber (DH), Henderson (3B), Smith (C), Roman Anthony (LF), Brice Turang (2B) and Pete Crow-Armstrong (CF).

The 24-year-old superstar is expected to return to the club’s spring training facility on Sunday. This won’t have any impact on Henderson’s ability to get himself ready in time for the start of the regular season and shouldn’t impact his fantasy draft stock at all. He has been the third shortstop drafted on average in early drafts, behind only Bobby Witt Jr. and Elly De La Cruz.

Henderson elaborated, “I could never get to the spot that I wanted to get to with my swing... I just wasn’t able to hold the plane and my body was adjusting to it, not feeling great, so that didn’t really set up me in the right spot to leverage the ball like I normally do... Looking forward to being healthy this year and getting back to my normal self.” It’s strange that nothing about the shoulder issue came out at all from the Orioles during the 2025 campaign, but it could help to explain the 24-year-old superstar’s significant falloff at the plate, especially in the power department — falling from 37 long balls to just 17. Assuming full health, look for Henderson to bounce back in a big way in 2026.

Like many of the Orioles, Henderson had a down year in 2025, slashing .274/.349/.438 with 17 home runs, 68 RBI, and 30 steals in 154 games. The speed was obviously nice to see, but the power and run production didn’t carry over from 2024. We expect him to bounce back in 2026 and would be fine with him as a late-first or second-round pick in fantasy leagues.

The Orioles were 7-for-7 stealing bases against Edgar Quero today, and one helped lead to a run; Henderson and Tyler O’Neill pulled off a double steal in the first, after which Henderson scored on an infield single. The other runs came on a Dylan Beavers homer. Henderson is now 26-for-30 steals bases this season, helping to make up for his rather disappointing .274/.348/.440 line.

It’s an extremely rare off day for Henderson, who rarely ever comes off the field. The 24-year-old fantasy star is batting .278/.349/.455 with 16 homers, 61 RBI and 20 steals in 558 plate appearances over 132 games. He’s on pace for his third consecutive 25-homer campaign and has eclipsed 20 thefts in each of the last two seasons.

Henderson homered in the first and then singled, stole second and third and scored on Ryan Mountcastle’s single in the sixth. He’s up to 16 homers and 19 steals on the season. It’s far too late for him to make a run at his 2024 total of 37 homers, but it looks like he’ll easily top the 21 steals he had then.

The triple, a liner into the corner in right field, should have been a double and an error on Roman Anthony, but we suppose that hardly matters. Both that and the homer were crushed at 110.6 and 108.0 mph, respectively. The homer was his third of the month, which obviously doesn’t count the grand slam he barely missed out on in Houston yesterday.

Henderson provided all of the team’s offense in Saturday’s loss against the A’s, taking Jack Perkins deep for a three-run blast in the first inning. Baltimore would be shut down for the rest of the game. The 24-year-old shortstop is up to 14 homers while slashing .284/.354/.466 with 66 runs scored, 50 RBI, and 15 steals across 458 plate appearances.

Henderson knocked a base hit in the first inning, then came up in a huge spot for the Orioles in the eighth. Down by two runs with two runners on and two outs, he took Caleb Thielbar deep for a go-ahead, three-run homer. It was his 13th home run of the season while slashing .285/.335/.468 with 63 runs scored, 46 RBI, and 14 steals across 437 plate appearances.

Henderson drew a walk in the first inning, then knocked a base hit in the third before leading off the seventh with a double and scoring on a single. He would double in two runs and score again before the inning was over as the Orioles brought nine runs in to score in the frame. The 24-year-old shortstop is hitting .281/.350/.459 with 11 homers, 53 runs scored, 38 RBI, and 13 steals across 406 plate appearances.

Henderson came up big with an RBI single in the seventh inning off Erik Sabrowski. The 24-year-old shortstop is now hitting .275 with a .797 OPS over 361 at-bats with 11 homers, 35 RBI and 13 stolen bases. A very solid season for most, but a disappointing campaign considering where Henderson was drafted prior to 2025.

Henderson doubled off of Brandon Waddell in the opening inning but wound up getting stranded at third base. He then started a rally in the fifth inning with a one-out single and eventually scored the go-ahead run on an RBI knock off the bat of Colton Cowser. With his three-hit attack, the 24-year-old infielder is now hitting .277/.343/.451 to go with 11 homers, 31 RBI and 10 stolen bases on the season.

Henderson came off the bench and delivered in a big way with a two-run shot off an ineffective Ryne Stanek to give Baltimore a 2-1 lead and ultimately a victory. The 24-year-old should be in the lineup for the second game of the doubleheader with a chance to improve a slash .of .272/.340/.446. Those aren’t bad numbers, but they’re disappointing considering where he was drafted in the overwhelming majority of redraft leagues.

We’ll likely see Henderson in the second game of the doubleheader, but he’s just 5-for-26 to start July, so the Orioles may want to give him one game to just reset and relax. Luis Vazquez will play shortstop and bat seventh.

Henderson did all of his damage in the extra frames. He blasted a homer in the 10th to give the O’s a 5-3 lead, and after Baltimore blew a 6-3 lead in the bottom of the frame, Henderson doubled in a pair in the 11th. The 24-year-old star ends June with 10 homers, 29 RBI and .799 OPS, and appears to be getting back to that upper-echelon level he played at for the majority of 2024. There’s every reason to believe that’ll be what fantasy managers get from Henderson over the summer.

Henderson’s home run was his ninth of the season. He hit a solo shot off position player Jose Caballero in the eighth inning with the game already well out of reach. Henderson isn’t having an incredible season after starting the year with a rib injury, but he’s still hitting .279 with a .797 OPS and 25 RBI on the year.

With tough left-hander Max Fried toeing the slab for the Yankees, combined with a late flight into New York on Thursday evening, O’s interim manager Tony Mansolino has given Henderson, Jackson Holliday, Cedric Mullins and Ryan O’Hearn the evening off. Expect all to be available off the bench for the right spot against a right-handed reliever. Luis Vazquez will start in Henderson’s place at shortstop and bat ninth for the O’s.
