Facing a 7-3 deficit with two outs in the eighth inning, Jeffers strolled to the plate against Huascar Brazoban with the bases loaded and launched an 0-1 sinker for a 377-foot (108.8 mph EV) game-tying grand slam. The Mets rallied in the bottom half of the inning though to take the lead back and the Twins’ ninth-inning rally wound up falling just short. Jeffers finished the night 1-for-3 plus a pair of walks. He’s having a solid season so far for the Twins — and for fantasy managers in deeper two-catcher leagues — slashing .267/.405/.483 with three homers and 16 RBI.

Victor Caratini, Ryan Kreidler and Byron Buxton also homered for the Twins in this one. Jeffers’ second three-hit day in three games gave him a .317/.440/.512 line through 51 plate appearances. He’s never maintained that kind of pace for long and probably won’t this year, either, but batting fourth and fifth regularly adds to his value in two-catcher leagues.

Jeffers put the Twins on the board in the first inning when he sent a three-run homer into the stands to give them the early lead. It was the first of three hits on the night for Jeffers, who also singled in the third and fifth innings. Jeffers is swinging a hot bat, slashing .348/.483/.565 over his last seven games, but Friday’s homer marked his first on the young season.

The Twins rallied with two outs in the opening inning as Josh Bell worked a two out walk and Trevor Larnach followed with a single. Jeffers then strolled to the dish and poked an RBI single into left to give the Twins an early 1-0 lead. That would be the extent of their offense. Jeffers is off to a very slow start on the spring, hitting just .150 (3-for-20) with a pair of RBI and a 5/1 K/BB ratio.

Jeffers, 28, went from 21 homers in 2024 to nine last season, but it kind of seems like a fluke; his exit velocity numbers were mostly better in 2025. It’s his walk year, so he could be a trade candidate in July if the Twins aren’t contending.

It’s just a standard day off for Jeffers with a day game after a night game. Christian Vazquez will catch and bat ninth, while Trevor Larnach will be moved to designated hitter so that Carson McCusker can get a start in right field and bat seventh.

Jeffers plated Byron Buxton with an RBI single off of Patrick Corbin in the third inning that put the Twins on top to stay. He has had a underwhelming season at the plate in 2025, slashing .262/.353/.392 with just nine homers and 45 RBI in 447 plate appearances.

Jeffers heads to the injured list following a two-game absence after taking a foul ball to the catcher’s mask during Thursday’s game. There is no timetable for his return at the moment. Jhonny Pereda and Mickey Gasper will handle the catching duties for Minnesota for the foreseeable future.

The 28-year-old backstop had taken a foul ball off of his mask earlier in the ballgame. Jeffers then had an awkward swing as he struck out in the third inning then returned to catch in the top half of the fourth. He was then pinch-hit for by Mickey Gasper in the home half of the fourth inning. Expect Twins’ skipper Rocco Baldelli to provide an update in his postgame comments.

This was a 2-0 game until Jeffers, Willi Castro and Harrison Bader all homered off Porter Hodge in a six-run eighth inning. Jeffers came into this one 3-for-22 with no RBI in his previous nine games, but he’s batting a solid .246/.342/.400 overall. It’d be nice if the Twins didn’t have to DH him so often, but at least he’s producing while in the slot.

Jeffers doubled in a pair off a wholly ineffective Nick Martinez, and then whalloped a two-run shot off Taylor Rogers that traveled an estimated 448 feet. He’s now homered five times in 2024 with a respectable slash of .255/.352/.400 over 199 at-bats. You can do worse, you can do better.

Jeffers missed Wednesday’s game while nursing a hand injury, but it seems like just a one-game absence for the 28-year-old. He can be put back into lineups.

No surprise here after Jeffers was lifted from Tuesday’s battle after taking a foul ball off his throwing hand. The positive news here is that X-rays came back negative for any fractures and he’s merely dealing with a right hand contusion. He should be able to return at some point later this week once the swelling subsides. It’ll be veteran Christian Vázquez taking over the catching duties in his absence.

Jeffers appears to have avoided major injury after taking a foul ball off his right hand during Tuesday’s game against the Reds. The 28-year-old backstop figures to get a couple days off to rest and recover, but should be able to avoid a trip to the injured list.

Jeffers was pulled in the top of the fifth inning after taking a ball of his arm during the previous frame. Christian Vázquez took over behind the plate. There should be an additional update on his status shortly.

Jeffers gave the Twins a 1-0 lead in the first inning with a homer off Justin Sterner. his second RBI of the game and 20th of 2025 came on a single in the ninth, so Jeffers was able to bookend the scoring. The veteran backstop has a solid .342 on-base percentage, but his .253 average and .400 slugging mark only work because of his positional value.

Jeffers had two chances to get a triple to complete the cycle, but he wound up with a groundout and a second single. That last knock gave him the first four-hit game of his career. He’s batting .270/.350/.418 with three homers this season.

Jeffers laced a single off of Garrett Whitlock that tied the game at three and now has 13 RBI on the season. He went 5-for-12 in the three-game series against Boston with one home run and three RBI. He’s picking up some extra DH at-bats given the injuries in the Twins’ lineup, and that will put him on the fringe of one-catcher leagues if you don’t love your catching situation.

Jeffers is finally on the board with his first homer. The caveat is that it came off a 50-mph lob from Will Wilson, as the Guardians finished with a position player pitching for the second game in a row. Jeffers has started 11 of the last 12 games, including two at DH, as the Twins have abandoned their catcher rotation that had seen Jeffers and Christian Vázquez mostly alternate starts the last two years. It wasn’t because Jeffers had been particularly productive, either; this is the first time all year that he’s finished a game with an OPS above .690. Vázquez, though, is currently at .450.

Jeffers is back handling the catching duties on Sunday afternoon following a two-game absence due to a cut on his right thumb that required treatment. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward.

No word yet on if Jeffers is banged up, but it’d be a true rarity for him to be on the bench in back-to-back games otherwise. He and Christian Vásquez have been alternating starts exactly at catcher this year, with Jeffers also making one appearance as a DH. Neither player is hitting much yet; Jeffers has a .515 OPS in 34 plate appearances, whereas Vásquez is at .455 in 23.
