Paddack was one of the Tigers’ lone trade deadline acquisitions, but he has a 5.35 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and a 112/37 K/BB ratio in 158 innings on the season. With this series being a best-of-three, the Tigers don’t need as many starting pitchers, so Paul Sewald will make the roster over Paddack.

The 29-year-old hurler also walked four batters on the afternoon while striking out five. The Tigers staked him to an early 3-1 lead in this one, but Paddack gave it right back by serving up a two-run homer to David Hamilton in the fourth inning and then an RBI double to Jarren Duran. He got 15 swings and misses on 104 pitches on the day, registering a CSW of 28 percent. Paddack wraps up a disappointing season with a 5-12 record, 5.35 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and a 112/37 K/BB ratio across 158 innings in 33 appearances (28 starts) between the Tigers and Twins.

Paddack came on after the Tigers erupted for nine runs in the top half of the seventh inning to take a commanding 11-2 lead. All he needed to do was keep the train on the tracks. He did better than that, retiring all nine hitters that he faced in order, including four punchouts. It’s unlikely that Paddack blossoms into a high-leverage specialist in the Tigers’ bullpen, but this is much better than we have seen from him in a while. For the season, he sports a 5.26 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and a 102/32 K/BB ratio over 145 1/3 innings in 29 appearances (27 starts).

Paddack is back after spending a couple days away from the club on bereavement leave. The 29-year-old righty was moved to the bullpen earlier this week after being lit up in a handful of starts since coming over from the division-rival Twins at the trade deadline.

Paddack recorded a calamitous 5.40 ERA and served up eight homers in 30 innings since being acquired at the trade deadline from the division-rival Twins. He surrendered three runs and lasted only 3 2/3 innings last Friday against the Royals. He’s expected to be available to pitch in relief as early as Tuesday’s game against the Mets. It’s probably Sawyer Gipson-Long taking his spot in Detroit’s rotation for now.

Paddack didn’t walk a batter or record a strikeout in the outing. All of the damage done against him came via the long ball, as Mike Yastrzemski crushed a leadoff home run and Maikel Garcia added a two-run blast later in the first inning. He settled in a bit afterwards but was still lifted with two outs in the fourth inning. Paddack got just three whiffs on 58 pitches on the night, posting a minuscule CSW of only 14 percent. He’ll try to improve upon his 5.04 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 97/32 K/BB ratio (141 innings) when he squares off against the Mets on Wednesday.

Paddack worked through three scoreless innings before a single and double to start the fourth brought a run home for the Royals. Paddack gave the Tigers one more scoreless inning, ending his day after five frames with one strikeout. The 29-year-old right-hander will take a 4.98 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and a 97/32 K/BB ratio across 137 1/3 innings into a start against the same Royals in Kansas City on Friday.

Paddack gave up nine hits, walked three and struck out four. The 29-year-old right-hander has made four starts since joining the Tigers at the trade deadline with both of his losses coming against his former team the Twins. Paddack has allowed 12 runs in 9 2/3 innings over two starts against the Twins. He has a 5.10 ERA and 96/31 K/BB ratio in 132 1/3 innings this year. Paddack is lined up to face the Royals at home next weekend.

Paddack struck out four batters on the evening while allowing only one base on balls. The only blemish on his day came on a solo blast off the bat of Colson Montgomery in the fifth inning. Paddack got five swings and misses on 76 pitches on the evening — three of those on his fastball — while posting a CSW of 25 percent. He’ll carry a 4.76 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 92/28 K/BB ratio (126 2/3 innings) into Sunday’s showdown against the Twins in Minneapolis.

Paddack didn’t walk or strike out a batter in his abbreviated outing. He did serve up a pair of long balls though — a two-run shot by Luke Keaschall in the opening inning and a solo homer by Trevor Larnach in the fourth. The 29-year-old hurler got just one swing and miss on 57 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll look to get back on track as he carries a 4.91 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and an 88/27 K/BB ratio (121 innings) into Monday’s matchup against the White Sox in Chicago.

Welcome to Detroit. Paddack made his first start since being acquired by the Tigers from Minnesota, and it went exceptionally well. He allowed just three hits, he didn’t walk anyone and he struck out five in one of his best starts of the season. Interesting. Paddack will get a chance to repeat this success against his former team when he squares off against Minnesota on Tuesday.

The trade is now official. Paddack will make his Tigers debut Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, stepping into Reese Olson’s vacated rotation spot after he was ruled out for the rest of the season with a shoulder strain. It’s a nice landing spot for the 29-year-old impending free agent as the Tigers should be able to provide him with plenty of run support. He won’t face an adjustment period either as he remains in the AL Central for the final two months.

C/1B Enrique Jimenez is the return, according to FanSided’s Robert Murray. Paddack has a 4.95 ERA and a weak 17.6% strikeout rate this season, so he’s probably not moving the needle. Still, some extra pitching depth can’t hurt, and with any luck, they wouldn’t need him to start a postseason game. If Paddack goes, Travis Adams might become the Twins’ fifth starter, though he was just sent down earlier today.

Shohei Ohtani hit his 37th homer in the first inning, but the Dodgers did nothing else while Paddack was in the game. It’s Paddack’s first quality start in eight outings and his first game with more than five strikeouts in nine turns. We wouldn’t go picking him up for his next start against the Red Sox.

The 29-year-old right-hander also walked a pair of hitters while striking out five on the night. The Rockies jumped on him right out of the gate for four runs in the opening inning — the final two on a two-run blast off the bat of Ryan McMahon. Paddack also served up a solo shot to Jordan Beck in the second before settling in and keeping the Rockies at bay through the fifth. He got 17 swings and misses on 97 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll attempt to get back on track as he carries a 3-9 record, 5.14 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and a 75/27 K/BB ratio (105 innings) into a brutal matchup against the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Paddack wasn’t hit particularly hard, but he was still overwhelmed by all of the contact in a start in which he finished with just two strikeouts. He has an 8.47 ERA in his last six starts, taking his season mark from 3.53 to 4.95. He’ll probably stay in the rotation to begin the second half, but the ice has to be pretty thin at this point.

Paddack was cruising right along through the first few innings of this one. He retired the first 11 batters he faced before the Rays started a mini rally in the fifth inning, but couldn’t get a run home. Then, they hit a single and double to begin the sixth which knocked Paddack from this game. Danny Coulombe allowed his inherited runner to score which closed the book on Paddack. The stuff isn’t great, but Paddack can be effective when his command was on like it was for the first few innings here. He’s scheduled for a dangerous matchup with the Cubs next.

Paddack punched out three batters on the night and didn’t allow a base on balls. He served up solo homers to Kerry Carpenter in the first inning and Riley Greene in the fourth, then the Tigers added another run on an RBI triple by Carpenter in the fifth that chased Paddack from the ballgame. He got 10 swings and misses on 91 pitches on the day, registering a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll bring a 4.70 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and a 63/24 K/BB ratio (90 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Rays.

Paddack has given up 16 earned runs over his last three starts, taking his ERA from 3.53 to 4.64. If the Twins were healthier, his rotation spot would be in serious doubt at this point. As is, they probably can’t replace him. He’s slated to face the Tigers on Sunday.

Paddack was handed nine runs of support so the victory was never really in question, but it’s fair to say he didn’t pitch well. He surrendered six hits — one of those a homer by Gavin Lux — and he struck out three while throwing 51-of-82 pitches for strikes. It’s definitely an improvement on his disaster Friday against the Astros where he gave up a nine-spot in four innings, but it’s a decent distance away from effective. He’ll try and get back on track Tuesday against the Mariners at home.

Woof. Paddack also walked a batter while recording only one strikeout in the ballgame. He entered Friday’s outing having allowed three earned runs or fewer in each of his last 12 starts. The Astros jumped on him early and often in this one, scoring three times in the opening inning, twice in the second and three times in the third — all without the benefit of a home run. Paddack then served up a solo homer to Jose Altuve in the fourth inning. He got 12 swings and misses on 85 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 26 percent. All of the good work that he had done on his ratios over the past two and a half months was erased in four innings on Friday, as his ERA ballooned from 3.53 to 4.30 in one fell swoop. He’ll attempt to rebound when he takes on the Reds in Cincinnati on Thursday.

Paddack left with a one-run lead that was later blown. He’s allowed one or two runs in six straight starts, but while he won the first two of those, he’s 0-2 in the last four. He’s just 2-5 with a 3.53 ERA overall. He’s likely to make his next start Friday against the Astros.

Paddack racked up 10 strikeouts on the day while issuing only one base on balls. The only blemish on his night came on a one-out solo homer off the bat of Cal Raleigh in the seventh inning. The 29-year-old right-hander got 17 swings and misses on 110 pitches in the ballgame, posting a CSW of 32 percent. He’ll carry an impressive 3.58 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 50/20 K/BB ratio (65 1/3 innings) into Friday’s matchup against the Blue Jays.

He also struck out five and didn’t walk a batter while posting a 22 percent whiff rate and 28 percent CSW on the day. Most fantasy managers have been counting down the days til Paddack is out of the rotation and both Zebby Matthews and David Festa are starting, but the truth of the matter is that Paddack has been rock solid since his poor first start of the season. Nothing is exciting about what he’s doing, but he hasn’t been bad and remains deep-league relevant in a start in Seattle this weekend.

The two sides will now complete Monday’s game, led 2-1 by Minnesota in the fourth, on Wednesday ahead of Wednesday’s regularly scheduled game. Tuesday’s game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sept. 20. It’ll be interesting to see how the teams go about playing out Monday’s game now. Tonight’s scheduled starters, Gavin Williams and Chris Paddack, could both be in the mix for that one. We imagine Wednesday’s scheduled starters, Tanner Bibee and Joe Ryan, will still start their regular games.

Is Paddack turning a corner? This was his first time pitching past the fifth inning this season and he hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs in a start since March when the White Sox of all teams put up a nine spot on him. It was almost a year to the day — May 19th of last season — since he last pitched into the eighth inning. He was untouchable early in this game facing the minimum through his first five innings with five strikeouts and only 43 pitches thrown. Everything looked tremendously easy for him. Also, his velocity was up across the board as his fastball sat 95 mph and touched 97 mph a handful of times. He’ll look to stay hot in his next scheduled start against the Orioles.

Paddack struck out two and walked two while posting a 20 percent whiff rate and 22 percent CSW. He continues to do just enough to keep his rotation spot and hold off Zebby Matthews and David Festa, but not enough to warrant interest in fantasy leagues. He should be avoided next week against the Giants.

Paddack was able to strike out five, but he issued four walks and threw just 57 of his 99 pitches for strikes. The right-hander issued one of those free passes with the bases loaded in the fourth, and his other run allowed came on a solo homer by Lenyn Sosa. Paddack wasn’t horrible, but it’s fair to say he was fortunate to limit the damage to just two runs, and also fortunate to be facing the White Sox. He shouldn’t be started against the Guardians next week.
