Stott was picked off/caught stealing after the walk, but it was another nice day at the plate. He’s reached base in 15 straight games, and he’s hit .385/.432/.692 with three homers in 44 plate appearances this month.

We thought Stott might go into the leadoff spot in Philadelphia with Trea Turner down, but he was seventh with Bryce Harper leading off last night. Tonight, though, he is benefitting from Turner’s absence, as his usual platoon partner, Edmundo Sosa, is starting at shortstop. The Phillies have Harrison Bader leading off tonight against the lefty, with Harper back in his usual third spot.

Stott’s home run was his 10th of the year. The 27-year-old second baseman hit a three-run shot in the seventh inning. Stott isn’t going to hit 20 home runs or hit for a high average, but he also isn’t a total zero in those categories which allows fantasy managers to take advantage of the speed he provides. He has at least 23 steals in each of the last three seasons.

Stott’s sixth inning homer tied this game up for the Phillies after they trailed the entire game to that point. Jhoan Duran would eventually give this game back, but Stott is in the midst of his best week of the season with two homers, two doubles, and nine hits in his last five games.

Stott’s two steals on the afternoon give him a total of 19 this season. The 27-year-old second baseman is a legitimate speed threat with multiple seasons of at least 30 stolen bases to his name already. Stott isn’t a shallow-league viable second baseman until he gets the average back in the .280 range, where it was in 2023. Since then he’s hitting .244 in 980 plate appearances.

He then delivered a go-ahead RBI single with two outs in the eighth inning that put the Phillies ahead to stay. He’s now hitting .235/.310/.342 with seven homers, 43 RBI and 17 stolen bases on the season.

In one of the more chaotic games that’s been played this season, Stott did what he could to push his squad to a victory. His home run was just his second this month and it was his first multi-hit game since June 27t. He’s been dropped down to ninth in the Phillies’ order and is firmly on the strong side of a platoon with Edmundo Sosa moving into the lineup against left-handed pitchers. His fantasy value has taken a massive hit this season.

Stott came to bat against Tony Santillan in a tie game in the eighth inning and launched a ball 405 feet at 105.8 mph for a two-run home run that put the Phillies on top. The 27-year-old has six home runs and 37 RBI on the season and is coming off a tough month of June, where he hit .202/.287/.262 with 11 RBI and eight runs scored. Stott swings a lot, but has been able to make enough good contact to sport a strong batting average despite his aggressive approach. Perhaps he needs to make a tweak or two in order to get back on track.

Stott singled with two outs in the second inning, but was then cut down attempting to steal second base. He then drew a walk in the fifth inning before plating the game-tying run with a fielder’s choice in the seventh. Stott also reached on an infield single in the ninth inning. With his two-hit attack, the 27-year-old second baseman is now hitting .242/.309/.344 with five homers, 31 RBI and 12 swipes on the season.

Stott came through with the elusive combo meal with his fifth home run and 12th stolen base of the season. He ambushed a first-pitch fastball right down the middle by Adam Mazur to give his Phillies a four run lead they’d never relinquish. He’s hit just .209 over his last 30 games, so maybe this one can get him going.

Stott managed to finish the contest, but will undergo further evaluation and testing to determine the severity of the issue. It sounds like he could wind up getting a couple days off this week as a result of the issue. There should be some clarity on his status ahead of Tuesday’s game.

Stott has batted fifth or lower in seven of his past eight games since June 6. The 27-year-old speedster’s fantasy appeal takes a hit with the move to the lower third of Philadelphia’s lineup. Stott is batting just .193 (21-for-109) with one homer and four steals over his last 30 games. He remains a borderline mixed-league option for fantasy purposes given the state of the second base position overall, but it might be time for managers to start considering alternatives on the free agent wire.

At least that’s still better than the seventh and eighth he was hitting at the beginning of the season. Stott is 3-for-26 this month, and he had a weak .228/.280/.327 line in his 38 starts from the leadoff spot. The Phillies have Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber hitting first and second tonight, rather than second and third.

The 27-year-old second baseman has been scuffling in recent weeks, hitting .204 (23-for-113) with two homers and four steals over his last 30 games.

Stott gets a rare day off with lefty Bailey Falter drawing the starting assignment on Saturday afternoon at PNC Park. It’ll be Trea Turner moving up to the leadoff spot in his absence. The 27-year-old second baseman has been scuffling in recent weeks, batting .198 (23-for-116) with two homers, 11 RBI and four steals over his last 30 games. Veteran lefty-masher Edmundo Sosa is getting a turn at the keystone in his place.

With his two-hit attack, the 27-year-old infielder is now hitting .277/.340/.415 with three homers, 20 RBI and seven stolen bases on the season.

Stott smacked a one-out triple off of Jameson Taillon in the third inning then scored the Phillies’ first run on the night as Trea Turner delivered a single into left field. Stott’s ninth-inning homer against Mets closer Edwin Diáz — his second big fly of the season — pulled the Phillies within one run at the time. His fantasy stock has gotten a boost over the last two-plus weeks since being moved to the leadoff spot on a consistent basis. He doesn’t offer an elite power/speed combo for fantasy purposes, but he’s been a really strong batting average source so far, hitting .295 (23-for-78) through 20 games.

Stott’s hot start has made him the Phillies’ leadoff man against righties, but Statcast thinks it’s a mirage; he came into today with a .270 average and a .397 slugging but also a .198 xBA and a .292 xSLG fueled by a paltry 19% hard-hit rate. He continued to defy his exit velocities today, collecting his three hits on balls that left his bat at 97.5, 86.7 and 81.9 mph. He definitely offers some extra fantasy value while he hits leadoff, but it might not be something that lasts.
