MLB.com’s Jake Rill adds that Tromp is the 23rd Orioles player to hit the injured list this season. He’s also the third catcher Baltimore has lost due to injury in the past two weeks alone. It’ll be veteran journeyman Jacob Stallings, not top prospect Samuel Basallo, coming up to take his spot on the club’s active roster. The 30-year-old suffered the injury during Monday’s series opener against the Rangers and figures to miss a couple weeks.

It’s starting to look like the Orioles might legitimately run out of catchers. Gary Sánchez is the only healthy backstop left on the club’s 40-man roster at the moment unless Baltimore finally wants to finally call up top prospect Samuel Basallo.
