Yoho spent a week in the Brewers pen, but he pitched just once, turning in a perfect ninth with the team down 10-2 on Sunday. It doesn’t seem like he’s going to have much of a chance of working his way into the postseason bullpen mix.

The 25-year-old hurler has struggled with his command during his brief time with the Brewers this season, posting an 8.22 ERA, 2.22 WHIP and a 5/9 K/BB ratio over 7 2/3 innings. He has terrific raw stuff, but he’s not going to help out in the Brewers’ bullpen if he can’t consistently throw strikes.

Brought in to finish off a four-run lead last night, Yoho, who just called up before the game, walked two of the four batters he faced and was pulled in favor of Trevor Megill, who finished the job for a save. He’ll head back to Triple-A having walked nine in 7 2/3 innings in the majors this season.

He takes the spot of Tobias Myers, who was sent down after Sunday’s game. Yoho, one of the game’s top relief prospects, debuted for the Brewers in April and has given up seven runs and walked seven in seven major league innings this season. He had a 0.84 ERA in 32 innings in Triple-A.

Yoho is one of the more intriguing relief prospects in the fantasy landscape, but he got absolutely lit up earlier this season in a handful of appearances for Milwaukee. The 25-year-old will likely head back to Triple-A Nashville at the conclusion of Wednesday’s twin bill.

Yoho struggled in his last outing, and the Brewers need a fresh arm for their relief corps ahead of Saturday’s battle against the Cubs. It seems likely Yoho will get another chance to pitch before the summer ends.

Yoho had given up one run in 4 2/3 innings since his callup, but he was all over the place today, throwing just 13 of his 35 pitches for strikes, and he gave up a three-run homer to Miguel Vargas. It’ll be interesting to see if he gets to stick around after this. That he’ll probably be unavailable the next two days doesn’t help his chances.

Kimbrel made three appearances for Double-A Columbus, not allowing any hits while striking out six and walking one in 3 1/3 innings. If he continues to pitch well in Triple-A, he could join the Braves bullpen soon; although, he’s unlikely to have much fantasy value aside from leagues that count holds as a stat.

Yoho’s meteoric rise to the majors began last season when he posted an extraterrestrial 42.4 percent strikeout rate across three minor-league levels. The 25-year-old doesn’t possess overpowering fastball velocity, but his signature changeup is a true albatross. It’s been classified as a double-plus offering by Baseball America and gives him a chance to excel right away in a high-leverage role. With veteran Trevor Megill struggling, it might not be too long before Yoho is in the mix for save opportunities in Milwaukee. He’s at least worthy of a speculative pickup in deeper mixed leagues.

Logan Henderson is going back to Triple-A to open up a spot. Arguably the game’s top relief prospect, Yoho could turn into a long-term closer for the Brewers, though the same could be said for Abner Uribe, and Trevor Megill figures to remain just fine in that spot for now. In other words, there’s probably no reason to go get Yoho in a shallow league right now, even if he is plenty promising. The 25-year-old hadn’t allowed an earned run in 9 2/3 innings for Triple-A Nashville.

Kimbrel made one injury rehab appearance for the Red Sox in 2015 and four for the Cubs in 2019. Aside from those, he hasn’t pitched in the minors since 2010, the year he debuted with the Braves. If all goes well, he could join Atlanta’s pen in a couple of weeks.
