Sandridge posted a 4.66 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and 54/19 K/BB ratio in 36 2/3 innings at Triple-A last season. The strikeouts are obviously intriguing, but he remains a work in progress, and will also be 27 years old on Opening Day.

Luciano was on the Yankees for four days. Since the end of the season, Luciano has been on the Giants, Pirates, Orioles, and Yankees. It remains to be seen where the former top prospect ends up, but he’s just 24 years old, so there may still be a chance for him to establish himself as an MLB regular.

The Rangers claimed Hamel off waivers from the Orioles, but then designated him for assignment last week. Hamel was once an interesting starting pitching prospect for the Mets, but has been moved to the bullpen. In 2025, hehad a 5.32 ERA in 11 starts and 20 relief appearances for Triple-A Syracuse. It remains to be seen what role the Yankees use him in.

The move to open up a spot on the 40-man has not been announced, but it’ll probably be either Michael Siani or Marco Luciano going back on waivers. Bellinger gets a full no-trade clause and opt outs after the 2027 and ’28 seasons. The 30-year-old is likely to remain the Yankees’ primary left fielder, though he could play some center against lefties. He’s also still very capable at first base, but the Yankees didn’t like putting him there last year. He’ll probably hit second ahead of Aaron Judge or third behind him, setting him up nicely to remain a top-20 fantasy outfielder, even if he’s probably not quite as good as he was last season.

Ort was claimed off waivers from the Astros in early January but will now be let go to make room for Michael Siani. Ort posted a 4.89 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and a 49/27 K/BB ratio across 46 innings out of the Astros’ bullpen in 2025 and should get a look with another organization.

Siani was claimed by the Braves off waivers from the Cardinals in November and then claimed by the Dodgers off waivers from the Braves in December, but was then waived by the Dodgers earlier this week to make room for Kyle Tucker. The 26-year-old outfielder will now join his fourth team this offseason. He has just a .688 career OPS in the minors, but is a good defender and baserunner, which makes him good depth for an organization.

Luciano claims the last spot on the Yankees’ 40-man for now, but the team will need to add Cody Bellinger in the coming days and Luciano might go right back on waivers at that point. If so, it’d be his fourth time there this offseason. A former middle infielder, Luciano only played left field in the Giants system last season and is out of options, so he wouldn’t seem to make much sense for the Yankees roster unless the team wants to send down Jasson Domínguez to play regularly.

The 29-year-old hurler struggled to a 4.91 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and a 14/14 K/BB ratio over 14 2/3 innings between Triple-A Norfolk and Double-A Chesapeake in 2025 before being cut loose by the Orioles in mid-May. He’ll add extra bullpen depth for the Yankees.

Brown was sent to the minors early in 2025 and played 35 games in Triple-A for the Athletics and Diamondbacks, hitting .352/.416/.697 with 12 home runs and 34 RBI. He has a career .226/.292/.419 slash line with a 27.5 percent strikeout rate in 568 career MLB games. He has a nearly 43 percent career pull rate as a left-handed hitter and could be a good fit in Yankee Stadium.

The deal, which was agreed to back in late December, is finally official. Blackburn returns to New York as a versatile swingman capable of making the occasional spot start while gobbling up multiple innings in relief. The 32-year-old veteran posted a pedestrian 4.39 FIP, 1.51 WHIP and 34/12 K/BB ratio across 39 innings over 15 appearances between the Mets and Yankees this past season. He can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.

The trade is now official. Weathers has shown flashes of big-time potential, recording a strong 3.74 ERA — 4.26 FIP — 1.21 WHIP and 117/36 K/BB ratio across 125 innings for the Marlins over the last two seasons. The 26-year-old southpaw has been limited to just 24 starts during that span due to injuries, including forearm and lat issues that cost him nearly five months this past season. He’s an interesting gamble for the Yankees — and a speculative late-round dice roll in fantasy leagues — as a high-upside rotation arm with Gerrit Cole coming off Tommy John surgery and Carlos Rodón working his way back from an offseason elbow procedure. He projects as a high-velocity impact reliever if they decide to move him to the bullpen at some point in the future. Meanwhile, his departure from Miami removes another obstacle from the path of top pitching prospects Thomas White and Robby Snelling.

Kloffenstein didn’t reach the majors with the Blue Jays after coming over from the Cardinals last offseason. The 25-year-old former third-round pick made one relief appearance for the Cardinals back in 2024 and posted a lackluster 6.30 FIP and 23.9 percent strikeout rate across 82 innings over 19 appearances at the Triple-A level this past season. He’s a low-risk depth addition for the Yankees.

Corona heads to New York after being removed from Houston’s 40-man roster at the outset of the offseason. The 25-year-old former prospect got into three contests for the Astros in early July before spending the rest of the year at Triple-A Sugar Land, finishing with a lackluster .220/.308/.326 slash line with seven homers and 18 steals across 433 plate appearances in 121 games. His prospect star burned a lot brighter a couple seasons ago, but he’s a decent low-risk depth addition for the Yankees and will likely head to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre once spring training wraps up.

The 33-year-old hurler was designated for assignment last week when the Astros had to clear a spot on their 40-man roster for the addition of Tatsuya Imai. The Yankees had a spot available on their 40-man roster, so a corresponding move was not required. Ort posted a 4.89 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and a 49/27 K/BB ratio across 46 innings out of the Astros’ bullpen in 2025. He’ll give the Yankees another option to work in middle relief.

Bird came over from the Rockies at the deadline and was brutal for the Yankees, allowing seven runs (six earned) on four hits in two innings. He has shown the ability to miss bats during his years in Colorado, so he remains an intriguing arm in the middle relief for the Yankees.

Chisholm, who made $5.85 million last year, is entering his final year of arbitration. There’s been some talk of the Yankees perhaps signing Bo Bichette and trading Chisholm, but even if they do add Bichette, there could be room for both. Chisholm hit .242/.332/.481 with a career-high 31 homers and 31 steals last year. Durability is a concern, but he’s very obviously a top fantasy second baseman.

Bednar is receiving a $3.1 million raise in his last year before free agency. He finished last year as the Yankees’ closer after replacing Devin Williams, and it seems obvious at this point that he’ll keep the job going into 2026. He had a 2.30 ERA and an 86/19 K/BB in 62 2/3 innings for the Pirates and Yankees last season.

Pitching in a setup role, Cruz had a 3.56 ERA and a 72/24 K/BB in 48 innings in his first season with the Yankees. This is his first arbitration season, and he’ll be eligible for free agency after 2028, though he’ll be 38 at that point.

Volpe is sitting at exactly three years of service time after debuting at the beginning of the 2023 season. He’s avoided any Triple-A demotions since, though it’s possible that could happen this year if he’s not quickly up to speed once he makes his way back from shoulder surgery. He struggled to a .212/.272/.391 line in 153 games last season.

Gil, who debuted for the Yankees in 2021 three years before winning AL Rookie of the Year, was a first-time arbitration eligible after posting a 3.32 ERA in 11 starts last season. He, of course, missed much of the season with a lat strain. The Yankees seem rather down on him now, but he’ll have a rotation spot initially. He just might be vulnerable to getting demoted when either Carlos Rodón or Gerrit Cole returns.

Caballero qualified for arbitration as a Super Two player after falling just two days short of having three years of service time. The utilityman hit .236/.339/.347 with 49 steals in 370 plate appearances for the Rays and Yankees last season. He’s expected to open up as the Bombers’ starting shortstop with Anthony Volpe due to miss the first month after shoulder surgery.

Doval struggled after coming over to the Yankees at the trade deadline last year, posting a 4.82 ERA, 1.607 WHIP, and 22/11 K/BB ratio in 18 2/3 innings. He does have a career 3.39 ERA and 108 saves in 297 MLB games, so there is a good chance he can bounce back and be a solid late-inning reliever for the Yankees in 2026.

Rosario, who agreed to the deal over two weeks ago, is again signing very cheap at $2.5 million, but at least that’s $500,000 more than last year. He made $7.8 million in his final year of arbitration in 2023 and now a total of $5 million the three subsequent years. Rosario wound up hitting .276/.309/.436 in 191 plate appearances for the Nationals and Yankees last season. That was good for a 109 OPS+, the best mark of his career. The Yankees will likely primarily use him to spell corner infielders Ben Rice and Ryan McMahon against lefties. He’ll also be an option at shortstop while Anthony Volpe is out, but José Caballero figures to be the main guy there.

Torres hasn’t appeared in affiliated ball since 2018, when he logged 25 games at the Triple-A level. The 32-year-old reigning Mexican League MVP earned the hardware after slashing a video-game esque .347/.425/.730 with 27 homers across 86 games for Algodoneros de Unión Laguna. He’s likely to open next season at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and represents a pure zero-risk lottery ticket for the Yankees.

Short fortifies New York’s middle infield depth heading into next season after hitting .220/.291/.380 with two homers across 56 plate appearances over 30 games for the Astros this past season. The 30-year-old journeyman shortstop is the prototypical emergency stopgap option for an organization like the Yankees after getting into 243 games in the big leagues between five different teams over the past half-decade.

Henry hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since the 2022 campaign when he got into 15 games for the Marlins. The 28-year-old backstop posted a .249/.323/.415 slash line with 11 homers in 65 games at the Triple-A level this past season. He’ll function as emergency organizational catching depth for the Yankees.

Rodón, who had a procedure in October to shave a bone spur and remove loose bodies from his elbow, thinks he’ll be back pitching in games in spring training, though he knows he’ll open up on the injured list. “I’ll be a little behind. I’m not sure exactly when my first start will be, but I’m hoping sooner rather than later,” he said.

Martinez has yet to reach the big leagues and represents a depth addition for New York after slashing .255/.357/.388 with six homers and one steal in 80 games for Triple-A Nashville this past season. The 26-year-old will get plenty of run on the doorstep of the majors but will be hard-pressed to break into the Yankees’ overcrowded outfield mix.

Hanner, who turns 27 in February, joins the Yankees after finishing last season with a 4.74 ERA and a 62/25 K/BB in 49 1/3 innings out of the pen for the Guardians’ Triple-A affiliate. His low arm angle and big sweeper make him pretty tough against righties. Lefties, though, had six homers and a 1.078 OPS against him last season.
