The 30-year-old center sustained a high ankle sprain against the Magic on April 1 and has progressed in his rehabilitation, but isn’t ready to return yet. Mo Gueye and Tony Bradley will be the backup center options for the Hawks in their series against the Knicks.

Newell got the starting nod for Atlanta with the typical starters getting a rest night in Game 82. The rookie took advantage of the opportunity and recorded the first double-double of his young career. The Hawks’ first-round pick hasn’t played a significant role for them, but he still has plenty of upside and could take on more minutes in his second season. He likely won’t see the floor much during the playoffs, but he is still worth stashing in dynasty formats.

While Proctor did record seven turnovers on Sunday, the rookie guard recorded his first double-double and finished two assists shy of a triple-double. Proctor logged a season-high 35 minutes on Sunday, taking on a role that does not align with what he’ll be asked to do during the playoffs. Unless there are injuries at the point guard position, Proctor is unlikely to crack the rotation.

In his second game back from a toe injury, Tyson played 26 minutes on Sunday. The role he enjoyed against the Wizards is unlikely to match what he’ll be asked to do in Cleveland’s first-round series against Toronto, but the second-year wing has shown that he’s a capable contributor. The future appears to be bright for Tyson in Cleveland.

With the Cavaliers resting most of their regulars, players like Tomlin were able to log extended minutes in Sunday’s regular-season finale. The second-year forward made the most of his opportunity, recording a career-high point total and surpassing the 20-point mark for the second time. Tomlin did not record any defensive stats, but the offensive production was excellent for those in active fantasy leagues. He’ll take on his usual reserve role during the playoffs and is not guaranteed consistent rotation minutes.

Hield has only made a few appearances since the Hawks acquired him, mostly during blowouts. However, with the Hawks resting their rotation players, Hield was able to supply plenty of offense off the bench in just 21 minutes. He isn’t going to be part of their rotation during the playoffs, but he is still a capable floor spacer. Unless the Hawks move him this offseason, he’ll likely remain in a limited role again next year.

The Hawks rested their core pieces for this game, which allowed Kispert to return to the starting unit. He provided plenty of offense, mostly from beyond the three-point line. Since they acquired him from the Wizards, Kispert has been a solid floor spacer, but he hasn’t been a large part of the rotation recently. He’ll be a depth option for Atlanta during the postseason, and he is certainly capable of getting hot and swinging a game.

The Cavaliers are locked into the No. 4 seed regardless of the outcome of Sunday’s games, so most of their key contributors won’t play. The exception is Strus, and given the time he missed after undergoing offseason foot surgery, managers in active fantasy leagues should not expect to see him on the court for too long. The other four starters should play significant minutes, although Tyson only recently returned from an injury.

For the second time in his career, Daniels was able to record a triple-double, with the other coming back in January. He also recorded at least one steal for a 16th straight game, and in 13 of those, he swiped at least two steals. His shot has been worse this year, and he hasn’t been quite as dominant with the steals, but Daniels is averaging career highs in both rebounds and assists, which has helped him to still be a fantasy stud. McCollum led Atlanta in scoring, though he did most of his work before the break. 25 of his 29 points came before halftime, which helped the Hawks take a 61-48 lead. They broke the game open in the third, which limited McCollum’s minutes for the rest of the game. This was his third-highest scoring game since he was traded to Atlanta, and it was enough to help them clinch a playoff spot. Now, they’ll need to win the regular season finale against the Heat to clinch the fifth seed in the East. After playing seven minutes in Monday’s loss to the Knicks, the first overall pick in the 2024 draft did not play at all on Wednesday.
