There’s an old expression about symbolically burying the game film instead of re-watching it. That might be applicable in this scenario for the Heat after they shot just 40 percent from the floor, including 8-of-30 from three-point range, and committed 17 turnovers in an ugly loss where they scored just 91 points. Adebayo collected double-digit rebounds for the fourth time in his last five games but was held to just nine points.

It should’ve been a monster scoring night for Powell but he went just 1-for-6 from three-point range and knocked down only six of his team-high 17 shot attempts. Jaquez has now scored at least 20 points in eight games this season, four times his total from the 2024-25 campaign. While the absence of Tyler Herro has opened things up for multiple Heat players, including Jaquez, he deserves credit for the strides he has made after an underwhelming sophomore season. Pritchard shouldered the loin share of the scoring workload with franchise cornerstone Jaylen Brown sitting out due to illness, hoisting a team-high 24 shots and knocking down 4-of-9 from three-point range. González remains a work in progress on the offensive end of the floor, but he’s showed that he can defend at a near-elite level in spurts off the bench as a 19-year-old rookie. He got hot in this one, pulling down a season-high 10 rebounds to notch his first career double-double. He’s experienced a significant uptick in minutes recently, playing at least 15 minutes in six of Boston’s last eight contests since December 2. Brown’s unreal stretch continued in this game. What a phenomenal outing it was for White. After scoring a season-high 31 points on Monday, he surpassed that mark in this one to set a new season high for scoring. This was a second straight start for Ware, and while he didn’t match his four-block performance from Thursday’s game, he was able to set a new career-high for triples in the loss. Jaquez got the starting nod for the first time this season. He has been excellent as a reserve this year, but he wasn’t able to capitalize on the move into the starting unit. Entering this game, Jakučionis had appeared in two games. Across those, he played a total of less than 10 minutes. He logged 35 minutes in his first career start, which led to the best game of his career. Pritchard has struggled with his shot since the calendar flipped to December. Counting Monday’s 5-of-14 performance, he’s shooting 37.9 percent from the field in six games. The good news for fantasy managers is that Pritchard has provided solid value in rebounds and assists, allowing him to hold onto top-150 value in eight-cat formats in December. After scoring 33 points in the first quarter, the Celtics were limited to 24 in each of the final three periods. That was the difference, even with White getting hot and shooting 5-of-8 from the field in the fourth quarter. The 31 points were a season-high for the Celtics guard, who last hit the 30-point mark in a December 4 win over the Wizards.
