With six players in double figures and stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum combining to score 51 points, the Celtics did not need much scoring from White. Shooting 2-of-7 from three, the veteran guard dished out six assists and committed just one turnover. White’s ability to fill the stat line is what made him so valuable to fantasy managers during the regular season, and it has made him an important piece in Boston since his acquisition during the 2021-22 campaign.

The lone negative for Tatum in Game 1 was his three-point shooting, as he made just one of seven attempts. However, he shot 80 percent from inside the arc, thanks to a combination of efficient mid-range shooting and the ability to get to the basket at will. Add in the other stats, and Tatum finished three assists shy of a triple-double. Boston will look to extend its series lead with a win in Game 2 on Tuesday night.

Due to the nature of Game 1, which the Celtics won 123-91, and early foul trouble, Brown played only 30 minutes. But he was effective while on the floor, finishing with a game-high point total and a final stat line that only lacked a blocked shot. While there’s a lot more basketball to be played in this series, the 76ers could not come up with an answer for Brown or Jayson Tatum in Game 1. If that trend continues, the Celtics may not need to dig too deep to advance to the second round.

Isaac hasn’t played since March 12 and was an afterthought for the Magic this year. While his questionable status for Game 1 gives him a chance to be available, it’s unlikely he sees the floor much at all in this series.

Carter was nearly perfect from the floor in his 27 minutes on Friday, with two of his six makes coming from beyond the arc. The veteran center also made contributions on the glass, especially on the offensive side, where half of his boards came from. He wasn’t overly productive in the win, but he was a positive contributor. Carter will have a chance to have another on Sunday in Game 1 against the Pistons

A blowout victory for the Magic limited Wagner to only 25 minutes of game action on Friday. Still, he made good use of his time on the floor by posting one of the more balanced performances on the team. Nearly half of the fifth-year forward’s points came from the charity stripe, with the rest falling inside the arc, before eventually finishing as Orlando’s second-leading scorer. He also tied team highs in assists and rebounds, highlighting his well-roundedness for the evening. Wagner and the Magic will have just a short amount of time to get ready for Sunday’s opening-round Game 1 against the Pistons.

Banchero led all Magic players in scoring during his 33 minutes of game action on Friday, which was complemented by solid playmaking for his teammates, and good activity on the defensive end. The efficient double-digit scoring performance was a nice response to a difficult outing against the 76ers on Wednesday. But with the Play-In Tournament in the books, Banchero starts with a clean slate against the first-seeded Pistons of the Eastern Conference. Game 1 will take place on Sunday.

Isaac hasn’t played since March 12 against the Wizards. The veteran forward didn’t start any games for the Magic during the regular season and posted career lows in minutes, points, and rebounds per game. His absence should not cause any changes in Orlando’s rotation.

Isaac has been sidelined for over a month, most recently sitting out Wednesday’s loss to the 76ers. While his return would give the Magic another option in the frontcourt, the 6-foot-10 forward’s minutes are likely to be limited once he’s cleared to play.

This certainly wasn’t the performance the Magic were hoping to get out of their star player. Banchero and Franz Wagner combined for just 30 points in the loss, though Banchero’s inefficiencies stuck out. He also shot 7-of-22 and had six turnovers in the regular season finale on Sunday. They’ll need him to be much better against the Hornets on Friday to keep their season alive.

With the rest of the Magic healthy, Black hasn’t been able to contribute as much since returning to the lineup after missing nearly a month with a core injury. However, he was able to provide some offense in this game, and he may be asked to do more on Friday. Franz Wagner appeared to injure his left leg late in the game, though it’s unclear if that will impact his status for their play-in matchup with the Hornets. If Wagner is sidelined, Black will take on extra minutes and could step into a starting role.

Wagner played 29 minutes, which was the most he has played in a game since December. However, that wasn’t the main story. Wendell Carter Jr. ran into Wagner with about 70 seconds left in the game, and Wagner came up hobbling and grabbing his left leg. It’s worth noting that he suffered a left knee injury a week prior to this, but he didn’t end up missing any time because of it, and that it was his left ankle that caused him to miss so many games this season. Head coach Jamahl Mosley didn’t have an update after the game, but there should be one before Friday’s play-in matchup with the Hornets.

The Magic gave up a haul of first-round picks last summer for Bane to provide this type of performance in the season. Unfortunately, the rest of this team was a mess, so it wasn’t enough for them to get the win and advance to the playoffs. Still, Bane was fantastic in this game, leading both teams in scoring. They’ll head back to Orlando to host the Hornets on Friday, with a chance to face the Pistons in the first round on the line. They’ll certainly have a good chance in that game if Bane is able to carry some of this production into that game.

Wagner played 26 minutes in the season finale, which was the most he has played in a game since mid-January. He hasn’t played 30 minutes in a game since early December. He missed over half of the season with an ankle injury, but now that it’s the postseason, he’s going to play more minutes. Wagner’s minutes will still be managed, but any extra minutes he can give will give the Magic a better chance to win.

Scheierman returned to the starting lineup and ended up seeing a lot more usage than he typically does. Boston was resting most of the usual rotation players, which allowed Scheierman to star. Bane got the start and played the first six minutes to officially play in all 82 games. After that, he sat the rest of the game, which allowed Tristan da Silva to play a larger role and start the second half. Well, that was the plan at least. Orlando likely expected to beat the Celtics’ backups easily, but that didn’t end up happening. Bane played the entire fourth quarter to try to bring the Magic back, but it didn’t end up being enough, even if it was close. Wagner had his second straight 20-point game, which was also his second time reaching that mark in over four months. He’s still getting used to being back out on the floor, but having him healthy and producing ahead of the postseason will give them a chance to survive the play-in tournament. The good and the bad of what Banchero can do in the box score were on full display in this game. He recorded a triple-double, but he was really inefficient about doing it.
