Castle had a rough night in Minneapolis. Not only could he not get shots to fall, but the second-year guard was also responsible for seven turnovers. While the rebound and assist numbers were solid, Castle’s inefficiency essentially nullified them. He’ll look to bounce back on Tuesday when the Spurs open a three-game week in Oklahoma City.

Due to injuries, Champagnie has started seven straight and eight of San Antonio’s last nine games. That stretch includes three double-doubles, with the Spurs’ forward offering top-100 per-game value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Rostered in 24 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Champagnie is worth a look in deep leagues as long as Devin Vassell remains out.

Wembanyama was back in the starting lineup on Sunday, but the minutes were still somewhat limited. He played 27 minutes, with the final stat line only missing a blocked shot. Wembanyama landed on Rudy Gobert’s foot after attempting a three-pointer during the third quarter, tweaking his left ankle. That didn’t affect his availability for the rest of the game as he remained on the floor, but it could land Wemby on the injury report ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Thunder. Luke Kornet (six points, 12 rebounds, one steal and one block) played 23 minutes off the bench.

Having come off the bench in his first few games back from a knee injury, Wembanyama is in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game. Luke Kornet heads to the bench, which lowers his fantasy ceiling. That’s the lone change to the lineup that began Saturday’s win over the Celtics.

Wembanyama took over as San Antonio’s primary catalyst in the second half, scoring a game-high 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting. The 22-year-old generational talent remains limited from a minutes standpoint as he works his way back from a knee issue, but he’s still delivered some monster fantasy performances off the bench. He’s averaged 22.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.7 blocks in just 24.5 minutes over his last three games since returning from a brief two-game absence. The Spurs close out the week with a road tilt against the Timberwolves before opening up a three-game week against the Thunder and Bucks before a rematch against Minnesota.

White brought a little extra against his former organization, finishing just shy of his fourth 30-point performance of the season. The 31-year-old guard provided his usual blend of scoring and defensive impact in this one, notching four stocks, while coming up just short of reaching double-digit rebounds for the first time this year. He’s been one of the hottest all-around players in the fantasy landscape of late, averaging an absurd 19.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.5 blocks in eight games over the past two weeks. The Celtics are in line for a three-game week that includes road showdowns against the Pacers, Heat and Hawks.

It’s not hyperbolic to suggest that Brown has morphed into a legitimate MVP candidate this season as he’s topped 25 points in 13 of 15 games since the start of December while propelling the Celtics towards the apex of the Eastern Conference without Jayson Tatum. The 29-year-old franchise cornerstone contributed 13 early points as the Celtics shot 61 percent from the floor in the opening half and wound up pulling away in the late stages. He got to the charity stripe a whopping 13 times and knocked down his final 12 attempts from the line. The Celtics have been one of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference, winning 13 of their last 17 game. They’ll close out a back-to-back on Saturday evening when they host the Spurs at TG Garden.

Pritchard showcases his signature skillset in this one, consistently driving to the basket and creating shot opportunities beyond the arc, parachuting in whenever the Celtics needed to create something out of nothing on a possession. The 27-year-old sharp-shooting facilitator dished out eight assists while scoring 16 of his 27 points in the second half to help Boston pull away for a relatively easy win. He’s been a phenomenal fantasy contributor over the past two weeks, averaging 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.3 blocks across seven games during that span.

Hauser was feeling it in the early stages of the contest, hitting four three-pointers in the opening stanza as the Celtics built an early advantage. The 28-year-old sharpshooter doesn’t offer a ton of fantasy value as he’s prone to the typical ebbs and flows that a hot-and-cold three-point specialist typically deals with on a night-to-night basis. Still under a minutes restriction, Wembanyama played 26 minutes off the bench on Wednesday. However, as was proven most recently in Tuesday’s loss to the Grizzlies, he doesn’t need to be on the court long to impact fantasy basketball. Wemby’s final stat line only lacked a three-pointer, and the four blocks were one more than the phenom’s total in prior three appearances. The Spurs hit the road for their next three games, including a back-to-back on Saturday/Sunday against the Celtics and Timberwolves.

In addition to filling up his stat line, Castle kept the turnovers in check, recording just two in the win over the Lakers. Also crucial to fantasy managers were the second-year guard’s percentages, as he made 60 percent of his field-goal attempts and did not miss a free throw. Castle missed both of his three-point attempts, but that area may come along slowly due to the responsibilities on his plate. In addition to initiating offense, he’s being asked to take on San Antonio’s most challenging perimeter matchup on defense. That’s a lot to ask of a young player, but that hasn’t prohibited Castle from establishing himself as a key player in the Spurs’ rotation.

While his category league value is limited due to lackluster defensive production, Johnson is capable of coming through with the occasional big scoring night. The 27 points he scored against the Lakers were the most in a game for the Spurs forward since December 27, when he hit that number in a loss to the Jazz. Simons continues to get more comfortable with his role in Boston, having scored in double figures in six straight and nine of his last ten games. Unfortunately for fantasy managers who have him rostered, this has not resulted in increased fantasy value. Over the past three weeks, Simons is still ranked outside the top-150 in eight- and nine-cat formats. After a rough night in Monday’s win over the Bulls, Brown got back on track Wednesday night in terms of scoring. Since December 2, he’s tallied at least 30 points in 11 of the 14 games that he’s played. Wembanyama was a force inside the paint and also knocked down 3-of-6 from three-point range in his return to San Antonio’s lineup following a brief two-game absence due to left knee soreness. The 22-year-old generational talent came off the bench in this one and fantasy managers should anticipate the Spurs putting a governor on his workload as he continues to deal with lingering physical issues. Brown’s magnum opus featured an extremely efficient shooting performance as he knocked down 18-of-26 attempts, including 6-of-10 from beyond the arc, finishing at nearly 70 percent from the floor. It was his second 50-point effort, matching his previous career-high mark set back on January 2, 2022. The 29-year-old franchise cornerstone combined with teammate Derrick White for 24 first-quarter points as Boston erupted for a season-high 42 points in the opening stanza and simply never looked back. It was a sublime all-around performance as Brown also locked up Clippers star Kawhi Leonard on the defensive end of the floor. Fox hit two corner threes during the fourth quarter, which boosted the final points tally for the night. Over the past two weeks, the Spurs guard has offered eighth-round per-game value in eight-cat formats. Fox’s problem recently has been the foul line, as he’s making just 65.4 percent of his attempts.
