Having totaled 16 points on 5-of-14 shooting in his previous two appearances, Johnson needed a good Saturday night. He answered the call, providing needed production off the bench to help the Spurs avoid losing a game they led by as much as 25. Over the past two weeks, Johnson has offered 11th-round value in eight-cat formats, and that’s with lackluster assist and steals production. While he has a limited fantasy ceiling, Johnson’s floor is solid.

With backcourt partner Stephon Castle (8/6/9/3 with two three-pointers) playing through an illness, Fox took his game up a notch on Saturday. With Rudy Gobert unavailable and Naz Reid leaving after five minutes, Saturday’s game appeared to be one in which Wembanyama would have little trouble putting up a gaudy stat line. That’s what happened, and the Spurs needed each of Wemby’s 39 points to hold off Anthony Edwards. Over the past two weeks, Wembanyama has been a top-10 player in nine-cat formats. The Spurs play four games in Week 14, starting with the Jazz on Monday.

Brown was on pace to threaten the lofty 50-point threshold for the second time in the past month, but ended up sitting out the final quarter with the Celtics leading by more than 40 points. He set the tone early on in this one, erupting for a staggering 29 first-half points on 10-of-19 from the floor, while also getting to the free throw line nine times, as the Celtics built a commanding 82-51 advantage. The 29-year-old MVP candidate has eclipsed the 25-point plateau in six of his last seven games since January 1. It’s abundantly clear that he’s capable of carrying a contending team as their primary scoring option. The Celtics have a busy four-game week on tap with showdowns against the Pistons, Pacers, Nets and Bulls.

Hauser took advantage of some additional shot opportunities with Peyton Pritchard (ankle) sitting this one out. The 28-year-old sharpshooter knocked down a surreal seven three-pointers in the opening half, finishing with 21 points, to help the Celtics race out to a 31-point lead at the break. He finished with double-digit three-pointers for the first time in his career, falling just three points shy of matching his previous career-high mark of 33 points. It was an unbelievable shooting performance and illustrative of the type of impact Hauser can have when he’s in a groove.

Fox was one of several Spurs players who found production in limited minutes on Thursday. The veteran guard logged just 23 minutes of action, thanks to a comfortable Spurs lead, but still nearly finished with 20 points. Fox’s trio of three-pointers was important as far as fantasy basketball is concerned, though he didn’t have much of an impact elsewhere. Regardless, he performed well in his minutes and should be a bit more rested for Saturday’s game against the Timberwolves.

Castle needed just 26 minutes of game action on Thursday to secure his first double-double in nearly one month. The second-year guard scored efficiently from the floor, and while he reached double figures in assists, the zero turnovers he committed were perhaps even more impressive. The balanced performance was the second consecutive for Castle, who had struggled to produce previously for a short period. Now that he appears to be out of a slump, fantasy managers should expect him to remain productive against the Timberwolves on Saturday.

The Spurs dominated the Bucks on the scoreboard on Thursday, limiting Wembanyama to just 22 minutes of game action. Yet, the versatile third-year center didn’t need much time to log a nice stat line. The former first-overall pick had a big night from beyond the arc, making all but one of his six attempts en route to concluding as the only Spurs player with 20 or more points. He also pulled down double-digit rebounds to secure yet another double-double on the season. Wembanyama continues to put up great numbers and remains one of the most productive fantasy basketball options.

Simons went full supernova in this one, spearheading Boston’s late-game rally as they erased a double-digit deficit to take the lead with just over five minutes left in regulation, scoring 18 of his 39 points in the fourth quarter alone. The 26-year-old scoring machine slashed to the rim with greater frequency than usual and knocked down 7-of-16 attempts from three-point range. He’s shown flashes of gargantuan scoring upside, but the simply volume hasn’t been there on a consistent enough basis in a limited role off the bench to make a significant fantasy impact. A performance like this shows exactly why he’s the perfect complementary option for Jaylen Brown as a secondary creator capable of carrying the offense for extended stretches.

Brown wasn’t exactly efficient in his return following a one-game absence due to lower back spasms but he came through with a couple key baskets late, pouring in 20 of his 27 points in the second half as the upstart Celtics pulled off an impressive comeback to erase a nearly 20-point deficit. He drained a clutch three-pointer with just over four minutes left in regulation and added a couple additional buckets down the home stretch. It’s not hyperbolic to suggest that Brown has morphed into a legitimate MVP candidate this season as he’s topped 25 points in 13 of 15 games since the start of December while propelling the Celtics towards the apex of the Eastern Conference without Jayson Tatum. In addition to filling up his stat line, Castle kept the turnovers in check, recording just two in the win over the Lakers. Also crucial to fantasy managers were the second-year guard’s percentages, as he made 60 percent of his field-goal attempts and did not miss a free throw. Castle missed both of his three-point attempts, but that area may come along slowly due to the responsibilities on his plate.
