Brown struggled to find his shot in the early stages of this one, going 1-of-7 from the field in the first half, but managed to get to the charity stripe for five free throws to salvage his scoring line. He came alive in the second half, sparking a 36-point third quarter for the Celtics, and finishing the second half with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting. He drained a pair of free throws with 33.5 second left to tie the ballgame, but it was Derrick White that took the final shot for the Celtics as time expired. The 29-year-old superstar has enjoyed one of the highest usage rates in the entire league this season and is averaging nearly 28 points per-game through 12 contests, delivering eighth-round value for fantasy purposes. The Celtics are back in action on Wednesday night when they host the Grizzlies.

For just the second time this season, Simons recorded a 20-point game, with the 25 matching his tally in an October 27 win over New Orleans. All due respect to the Pelicans, but putting up an efficient 25 points on the Magic is a different matter. Over his last three games, Simons is shooting 19-of-37 from the field, and as a result, his season percentage is approaching 44 percent. His overall fantasy value remains low, but this three-game stretch was much-needed for Simons as he looks to establish himself in Boston. The Celtics begin a three-game Week 4 in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Regardless of how many points he scores, White consistently provides fantasy managers with excellent value. Sunday was his first game with at least 20 points since Boston’s season opener against the 76ers, and he also provided solid value in assists, steals and three-pointers. White is providing top-50 value in nine-cat formats, and history suggests he’s capable of being even better as the season progresses. Boston plays three games during Week 4, but only one will be played after Wednesday.

While Brown’s streak of 30-point games ended at three, he’s scored 28 or more in six of his last seven. The Celtics wing has been a better option in eight-cat formats than nine-cat for most of his career, and that has been the case this season as well. While providing eighth-round value in the latter, Brown has been four rounds better in eight-cat. The key to closing the gap is turnovers, of which JB’s averaging 3.6 per game. He had four on Sunday, which was the lone negative to his night.

Sarr came up big for Washington in this game and was able to turn in a strong line across the board. Overall this season, his rebounding has been improved, but the last two games have been rough in that department; he matched his season-low for boards in this one. Still, this has been an excellent start to Sarr’s second season in the league, and he’ll look to keep it going in Detroit on Monday.

Since scoring 14 points in the season opener, Whitmore has only scored in double figures once and hasn’t played a significant role. However, he was able to contribute off the bench in this game and set a new season-high for points. Still, outside of the buckets, he only contributed three boards. That’s it. Whitmore is a talented scorer, but until he is able to contribute in other areas, his upside and minutes will both be limited.

It was a tale of two halves for McCollum. He got off to a scorching hot start to this game, scoring 23 points in the first half alone. That came after he had a season-high 25 points on Friday. Since going through a three-game stretch in which he shot 3-of-21 from beyond the arc, Pritchard has found his stroke. Making five of his eight attempts, the Celtics guard has gone 11-of-25 from deep over the last three games, scoring at least 18 points in each. Unsurprisingly, Sarr struggled on the glass against Cleveland’s tandem of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. However, the second-year center shot over 50 percent from the field and recorded four blocks, continuing to make strides on both ends of the floor. Sarr’s start to the season has been very encouraging, but there’s still room for improvement. Can he be a top-50 fantasy player for the entire season? Yes. Having shot 3-of-19 from the field and 1-of-10 from three in his two previous games, McCollum was looking to snap out of that funk. Mission accomplished, as he shot 50 percent from the field and led the Wizards in scoring. Thirteen of his 16 shot attempts were from beyond the arc, and he has a three-point attempt rate of nearly 55 percent through nine games. When the shots are falling at a solid clip, as they were on Friday, that’s a nice deal for those who have McCollum rostered.

With Bilal Coulibaly unavailable due to injury, Johnson made his first career start on Friday. While he certainly would have preferred to do so in a win, the rookie guard had a good night on the offensive end of the floor. Johnson provided solid value in points, three-pointers and field-goal percentage, although he was just 1-of-3 from the foul line. Field-goal percentage and assists have been the issues for him thus far, with the Celtics guard shooting 41.2 percent and averaging a career-low 1.6 assists per game. While it’s still early in the 2025-26 season, Sarr’s progress from Year 1 to Year 2 has been impressive. He was one of the few bright spots in Wednesday’s blowout loss, continuing an excellent run to begin the season. Sarr is providing top-25 value in nine-cat formats thus far, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a fantasy manager who expected this level of production. Hauser replaced Josh Minott to start the second half of this game, but that didn’t lead to a good performance from either player. Hauser played 28 minutes to Minott’s 15, and it’s worth keeping an eye on to see if this is a move that will carry over into the Celtics’ game against the Wizards on Wednesday, or if this was just a result of Minott being in foul trouble again. After falling one rebound shy of a double-double in Monday’s win over the Pelicans, his first start as a Celtic, Minott was even better on the glass against Cleveland. Not only were his 14 rebounds a career-high, but this was also the second time in his career that Minott had reached double digits in that category (February 8, 2023, with the Timberwolves).
