The Cavs will debut a new opening lineup on Friday, with Garland and Hunter starting together for the first time. Garland made his 2025-26 debut in the most recent Cavaliers win after dealing with a toe injury to begin the year. In the contest, he tallied eight points, two rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes. The Cavaliers aren’t at full strength, but Garland’s return to the starting unit is a positive for a team looking to build on its second-round playoff exit from the previous season.

Initially questionable for Friday’s contest, Hunter is good to go after missing Wednesday’s win over the 76ers. He’ll likely bump Jaylon Tyson to the bench, with the second-year wing’s already-low fantasy value taking a hit. There’s no need to hold onto Tyson in this spot.

Allen, who returned after missing two games with a non-displaced fracture of his left ring finger, played while wearing a splint on his injured finger. The 27-year-old center managed to play 30 minutes and had a great game in the win over the 76ers. Allen had 24 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and was very active defensively with three blocks and three steals. Allen’s fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief as it appears the injury isn’t going to hamper his play very much at all.

Garland missed the first seven games of the season as he recovered from offseason toe surgery. The 25-year-old point guard wasn’t as crisp as he might have been had he not missed all of training camp and the preseason as well. Garland was 3-of-11 from the field and scored eight points in 26 minutes. We can expect that it’ll only get better from here for Garland as his minutes and production increase as he gets more comfortable now that he’s active and playing.

Mitchell returned from a hamstring injury on Sunday, dropping 37 points in a win over the Raptors. The 29-year-old shooting guard didn’t disappoint with his encore performance Wednesday. Mitchell exploded for 46 points on 21 attempts from the field. He made all 10 of his free throws and was 6-of-11 from behind the three-point line. It’s clear the only thing that can stop Mitchell from delivering excellent fantasy value this year would be his health.

Barnes served as Toronto’s primary offensive catalyst in this one, shooting 60 percent from the floor in a one-sided affair. The 24-year-old briefly left the contest late in the second quarter with an apparent left hand injury but managed to return at the outset of the third quarter. The Raptors had six players score in double figures as they raced out to a 25-point lead by the start of the fourth quarter. Barnes will look to keep the momentum going when Toronto faces the Hawks on Friday night in a road tilt.

He finished with four treys and eclipsed 20 points for the sixth time in eight games to open the season. Hunter, who has been a starter due to Max Strus’ absence, is averaging 18.2 points per game, which would be a career-best if he were to sustain it. Of even greater value to category-league managers has been his improved production in other key categories, most notably rebounds and assists. Hunter goes into Week 3 providing top-100 value in eight cat formats, exceeding his Yahoo! ADP of 140. Cleveland doesn’t play again until Wednesday, so there’s no need to add Hunter yet. Mitchell showed no ill effects from the lingering hamstring issue that kept him out of Friday’s loss to the Raptors. He played 36 minutes on Sunday and was efficient as a scorer, shooting over 57 percent from the field. Also, Mitchell knocked down a season-high eight three-pointers against the Hawks. As long as the hamstring injury doesn’t flare up, Spida will provide excellent fantasy value throughout the season. Lonzo Ball, who started for Mitchell on Friday, played 27 minutes and finished with eight points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal and two three-pointers.

Ingram logged another productive stat line on Sunday, utilizing accurate shooting to finish the contest as one of Toronto’s best scorers. Nine of his 10 made field goals came inside the arc, while he also chipped in five free throws to help land his fifth 20-point outing of the season. The veteran forward has gotten off to a fast start in Toronto and is posting some of the best shooting splits of his career through seven games. He’ll look to stay hot against the Bucks on Tuesday.

Barnes did a little bit of everything on Sunday for the Raptors. On the offensive side, he was a productive scorer both inside and outside the arc while also functioning as the team’s primary facilitator. Meanwhile, he was the only Raptors player to log at least one steal and block on Sunday, with his six stocks marking a new season high. Barnes has gotten off to a productive start to his fifth NBA season and is displaying vastly improved three-point shooting thus far. If he can remain efficient from beyond the arc, he becomes even more valuable in fantasy leagues.

TOR • Forward-Guard • #9

Despite a rough shooting night from beyond the arc, Barrett still finished as the game’s leading scorer on Sunday — high volume helped him nearly produce 30 points, as did contributions from the charity stripe. Yet, the seventh-year wing got his teammates involved along the way and recorded a season high in assists in the win. Barrett’s start to the season has yielded similar statistics to those of last year in Toronto, which suggests he should be able to maintain his current level of production throughout the year.

Hunter was one of primary beneficiaries of Jarrett Allen, Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland all missing this game. While the Raptors certainly have their issues, Ingram wasn’t one of them against the Rockets on Wednesday. Poeltl played 19 minutes, finishing with four points, eight rebounds, four assists and one steal. Murray-Boyles, the ninth overall pick in June’s draft, made his official Raptors debut after missing the first two games with a forearm muscle strain.
