Gafford will miss a fourth consecutive game, leaving the Mavericks to once again rely on Dwight Powell and Moussa Cissé at the center position. While the former has been the starter, the latter offers a higher fantasy upside. At a minimum, Cissé is worth rostering in deep dynasty leagues.

Cissé was initially listed as questionable but was upgraded to probable earlier in the day. Valančiūnas has been out since straining his right calf during a December 31 win over the Raptors. A return on Thursday would mean he’s about a week ahead of schedule. While the veteran center will likely be under a minutes restriction, Zeke Nnaji will get less playing time.

Cissé had been listed as questionable, so this is a step in the right direction for him. Meanwhile, Daniel Gafford (ankle) has been downgraded to doubtful, so Cissé should get a nice run of minutes. However, the Warriors don’t often play a traditional center, so the Mavericks could get by with lots of minutes for Naji Marshall and not need Cissé as much on Thursday.

Gafford has missed the Mavericks’ last three games with a sprained ankle. While Dwight Powell started Monday’s win over the Knicks, reserve Moussa Cissé was more productive. That will likely be the rotation on Thursday if Gafford remains out, but Cissé is also questionable due to an illness.

Cissé, who has provided valuable contributions off the bench when the Mavericks have been shorthanded, is dealing with an illness. How impactful his absence would be depends on Daniel Gafford (ankle), who’s also listed as questionable for Thursday night. If Gafford plays, there may not be much room in the rotation for Cissé, especially if the Mavericks decide to save a game since the rookie is on a two-way deal.

Gordon was back in the Nuggets’ lineup after sitting out Sunday’s loss to the Hornets, pushing DaRon Holmes II (DNP-CD) out of the rotation entirely. While he didn’t record any defensive stats, Gordon’s points, rebounds, assists and three-pointers were solid. The combination of decreased defensive production and poor foul shooting has negatively affected Gordon’s fantasy value recently, pushing him outside the top-100. That said, he’ll be worth holding onto as long as the Nuggets are without Nikola Jokić.

Two nights removed from being limited to 11 points in a blowout loss to the Hornets, Watson was more productive against the Lakers. The fourth-year forward recorded a complete stat line in his 38 minutes, and he has offered consistently reliable value over the past month. Rostered in 43 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Watson has been a sixth-round player in eight-cat formats over the past month. He’s worth rostering until Christian Braun (ankle) and Cameron Johnson (knee) return from their injuries.

Like Jamal Murray, Tuesday’s game was a tale of two halves for Jones. After making all four of his three-point attempts during the first half, he was 0-of-3 from beyond the arc after halftime. Jones shot 2-of-5 from the field in the second half, and the Nuggets blew a 14-point lead. The two-way contract forward has filled in admirably over the last few weeks, but he’s barely been a top-200 player over the past month. There’s no need to add Jones, especially with Aaron Gordon back in the lineup.

Murray’s shot from just beyond half court capped an 8-0 Nuggets run to end the first half, during which he scored 26 points. Murray appeared to be well on his way to an outstanding night. Give the Lakers credit for adjusting their defensive approach, sending more doubles Murray’s way, and he may have been a bit too deliberate with his decision-making. Making his first appearance at Madison Square Garden as an NBA player, Flagg had a solid evening at the office as the Mavs blew out the Knicks. Two significant issues became apparent for the Knicks early in Monday’s game: they couldn’t run Max Christie off the line, and they couldn’t keep Marshall out of the paint. Naji shot 6-of-12 from inside the arc, with a 1-of-6 mark from three negatively affecting his overall field-goal percentage. The Nuggets forward recorded his third double-double of the season and first since returning from the hamstring injury that sidelined him for six weeks. Three games removed from scoring 25 points in a win over the Bucks, Hardaway had his most productive outing since joining the Nuggets last offseason. Shooting 5-of-11 from beyond the arc, he recorded his first 30-point game of the season. Unfortunately, Hardaway didn’t provide much beyond points, three-pointers and percentages, but that’s to be expected, given his fantasy profile.
