Gafford’s double-double was his fourth of the season, but the playing time may be the most notable aspect of his night in Houston. The 28 minutes were the most in a game for the Mavericks’ center since November 24, exceeded only by Gafford playing 31 minutes in a November 16 win over the Trail Blazers. How Dallas decides to approach the rest of the season will be worth watching, as Saturday’s defeat dropped them five games behind the 10th-place Clippers in the loss column. If they try to compete for a play-in spot, Gafford should be fine minutes-wise. If not, expect to see more of Moussa Cissé (three points, one rebound, one assist and one block in 13 minutes).

One game removed from scoring a career-high 49 points in a loss to the Hornets, Flagg put forth another stellar performance on Saturday. While a layup that could have tied the game missed the mark, the Mavericks would not have been in that position without their star rookie. Despite Dallas’s lack of healthy options, Flagg has continued to balance creating for himself and for his teammates. Over the past month, the rookie has offered top-50 fantasy value. The Mavericks open a three-game Week 16 on Tuesday against the Celtics.

Williams was injured during the first half when Rockets guard Reed Sheppard inadvertently dove into his left leg while both were attempting to corral a loose ball. Checking out of the game moments later, Williams went back to the locker room after a quick lookover on the bench and is now done for the night. His absence means more playing time for Ryan Nembhard, but the rookie won’t be worth the risk in most redraft leagues if Williams has to miss additional games.

James struggled in Wednesday’s blowout loss, but he was able to get back on track in this game. He was far more efficient, though it didn’t turn into a great outing because of how dominant Luka Doncic and Deandre Ayton were and how lopsided the score was. Still, it was good to see LeBron bounce back, especially since he has been quieter in recent weeks after a strong start to January. Next up on the schedule is a trip to New York on Sunday, which will be game seven of this eight game road trip.

Dončić got off to an unreal start to this game, and he ended up entering halftime with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. This was the second time in Dončić’s career that he recorded a triple-double in a single half, joining Nikola Jokic and Russell Westbrook as the only players to do it multiple times in the play-by-play era, per Stathead. He has been fantastic all season, and this performance was one of his best. He’ll look to keep it going in New York on Sunday to wrap up the week.

It has been a rough stretch for Ayton recently, but the Wizards didn’t have an answer for him in this game. This was Domin-Ayton at his finest. Across his five games prior to this game, he had scored a total of 33 points. He fell one point shy of matching his season high for scoring, though that hasn’t been typical for him. Ayton’s role has been inconsistent, which has contributed to his production following the same trend. He’ll look to stay hot in New York on Sunday.

Martin has been starting over the past two weeks for Dallas, and he has had some strong production lately. The shooting has been rough, but he has averaged 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks per game during that stretch, and he set a new season high for rebounds in this one. His upside as a scorer has been limited, though he has had a few solid performances mixed in. Naji Marshall got a rest night in this game, but he should return to take on the Rockets on Saturday. Flagg missed Wednesday’s game against the Hornets but was back to take on Charlotte. In a matchup with his former college teammates Kon Knueppel and Sion James, Flagg’s team didn’t come out on top, but he shined brightest. Only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who scored 51 points on 72 percent shooting in a game as a rookie, has ever matched or exceed Flagg’s points and field goal percentage in a game as a rookie. Of course, Kareem was less than two months from turning 23, while Flagg just turned 19. He has been incredible as a rookie and should be in line to win Rookie of the Year.

Marshall extended his streak of games with at least ten points to 12 on Wednesday, and he’s been a starter for the last 11. Since New Year’s Day, the Mavericks’ forward has provided top-100 per-game value, with Anthony Davis’ hand injury raising Marshall’s ceiling. He’s still rostered in 41 percent of Yahoo! leagues. The good news for fantasy managers is that Ayton reached double digits in rebounds for the fourth time in his last seven appearances. That should take some of the sting out of the poor shooting. Over his previous two games, Ayton has shot 6-of-21 from the field, so it may be fair to question whether the left eye injury suffered in Denver on Tuesday is still an issue.
