Ryan Nembhard (8/1/3 with two three-pointers) once again served as the starting point guard, but Williams played more minutes. He logged 26 to Nembhard’s 21, with the seven assists being the most in a game for Williams since November 12 against the Pelicans. The perimeter shot remains a work in progress, but Williams is worth keeping an eye on, given how unpredictable the Mavericks’ point guard rotation has been.

Marshall was supposed to begin Saturday’s game on the bench. But an ankle injury to P.J. Washington during pregame warmups forced Marshall to start, and he was productive in his 37 minutes. Due to injuries, he has been a more valuable player to fantasy managers than anyone anticipated before the season began. However, Marshall’s value hinges on the availability of Mavericks higher in the offensive pecking order. Dallas opens a four-game Week 7 in Denver on Monday, so keep Marshall in mind if Washington can’t play.

Cooper Flagg wasn’t the only Maverick to record a season-high point total on Saturday. Thompson went off in the second half, shooting 6-of-8 from beyond the arc, and finished with a season-high 23 points. He’s mainly a points and three-pointers option for fantasy managers, and Thompson has started to come good on those expectations after a slow start. Of course, his role proved more prominent than expected, thanks to injuries to Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis. Thompson will look to build on this performance when the Mavs open a four-game Week 7 in Denver on Monday.

Flagg was rolling on Saturday, scoring 21 points in the first half. The Clippers couldn’t come up with an answer for the rookie, who finished with his first 30-point game. Flagg was efficient offensively, shooting 13-of-19 from inside the arc, becoming the youngest player in league history to score at least 35 points in a game. A sixth-round player in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks, his season-long value has cracked the top-100. It will be fun to watch Flagg’s progression, as he has already made strides over the season’s first month. The Mavericks play four games in Week 7, starting with the Nuggets on Monday.

Thompson is set to miss Saturday’s matchup with the Clippers for left knee injury management reasons. The 35-year-old shooting guard hasn’t been very active this year outside of a postgame spat with Ja Morant last week. Thompson isn’t worth rostering in most formats regardless of his availability.

Nembhard’s first NBA start didn’t result in a victory, but the Mavericks had to be encouraged by what they saw. The rookie seemed to have a good rapport with Anthony Davis and was efficient in his 23 minutes on the floor. With Nembhard starting, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd called on Brandon Williams (11/2/3/1 with one three-pointer) to take on the backup point guard duties. D’Angelo Russell was the odd man out on Friday, picking up a DNP-CD. However, that could change for Saturday’s game against the Clippers, as Nembhard recently missed five games due to a knee injury.

Flagg didn’t do much scoring on Friday, but he did finish three rebounds shy of his first career triple-double. The rookie did notch his third double-double, and the three steals will help some fantasy managers as well. After a slow start to the season, Flagg has provided fifth-round value in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. While his progression has not significantly impacted the Mavericks’ win total, Flagg’s fantasy value has improved, which is good to see.

Washington has started every game but one for the Mavericks this season. While his fantasy value remains relatively low, the availability has given his rostership a slight boost. Rostered in 46 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Washington has provided seventh-round fantasy value in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. And with Anthony Davis set to miss Saturday’s game against the Clippers, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for some managers in 12-team formats to stream Washington.

Before Friday’s game, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said Davis would be restricted to 24-27 minutes in his first game back from a strained calf. He played 28 minutes, replacing Daniel Gafford (5/4/0/1 in 17 minutes) in the starting lineup. While Davis’ scoring output was limited, fantasy managers will take the assists and blocked shots. Unfortunately, he has already been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Clippers, which could mean Gafford returns to the starting lineup.

While he didn’t do much scoring on Friday, Edey was dominant on the glass. The 21 rebounds were a season-high for the second-year center, who has been a top-50 player in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. He’s still rostered in 46 percent of Yahoo! leagues, which is too low, given Edey’s production and importance to the Grizzlies. Now would be a good time to hop onto the bandwagon, especially with the Grizzlies facing Sacramento on Sunday.

Williams’ production has not made him a must-roster player with Ja Morant out, but that has more to do with the percentages and turnovers than anything else. Over the past two weeks, he has shot 34.8 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from the foul line while averaging 3.0 turnovers per game. As a result, Williams has not been a top-100 player in nine-cat formats. However, that is not the case in eight-cat. Rostered in 24 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he’s worth picking up ahead of Sunday’s game against the Kings.

While Jackson certainly deserves credit for what he did in the points and three-point categories, what he didn’t do will undoubtedly strike a nerve with some fantasy managers. He did not record any rebounds or defensive stats in Friday’s victory. While Zach Edey dominated the boards for the Grizzlies, grabbing 21 rebounds, Jackson’s lack of production in that category was disappointing. Over the past two weeks, he has averaged just 4.4 rebounds per game, which is why Jackson has not been a top-100 player during this stretch.

Nembhard returned from a knee injury on Monday after missing five games, and the rookie did not take long to make a positive impression on Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd. While he did not shoot well in the fourth quarter of Monday’s loss to the Heat, going 1-of-6 from the field, the rookie played 11 minutes and dished out three assists. Less than a week removed from dishing out 15 assists against the Kings, Williams recorded a new career-high in that category on Wednesday. He didn’t do much scoring and was responsible for six turnovers, but the assists, rebounds and “stocks” meant that Williams managers didn’t lose out on value. Two nights removed from recording his first 20-point game of the season, Wells dropped 25 points in New Orleans. The sudden scoring surge is an excellent development for the Grizzlies, who are still playing without Ja Morant. While Cedric Coward (12/9/4/0/1) remains the superior fantasy option, Wells has been a sixth-round player in nine-cat formats over the past week. Not only were Jackson’s 27 points a game-high, but they were also the most he’s scored in a game this season.
