Washington has been in and out of the lineup recently, and after missing Thursday’s game, he will be back against Milwaukee. Naji Marshall started against Charlotte, but he will return to a reserve role with Washington back in the rotation.

With Olynyk available after not playing on Thursday, he started while rookie Karlo Matkovic was pushed to the bench. The “Lunch Lady” had a solid night at the office, but this wasn’t the kind of performance that will force many fantasy managers to rush to their computers to add Olynyk. As for Matkovic, he shot 1-of-8 from the field and finished with two points, five rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes. Olynyk’s ROS fantasy value hinges on the Pelicans’ deciding how available he’ll be. If the front office decides to pull the plug on its veterans, Matkovic will be one of the beneficiaries.

Not only was Brown back on the court Friday after sitting out Thursday’s win over the Suns, but he was in the starting lineup for the rematch. While fantasy managers who may have hoped for a standout performance were left unfulfilled, the assists and steals were solid. However, Brown isn’t much more than a deep-league streamer, a disappointing slide for a player who had close to top-100 value while winning a championship with the Nuggets a few seasons ago.

Having the room needed to flourish offensively has been a rare occurrence for Missi this season. However, that wasn’t the case on Friday, as the Pelicans were without CJ McCollum and Zion Williamson. The 14 field goal attempts matched his season-high, and the 24 points are a new high for the rookie center. While Missi has remained in the starting lineup, his fantasy value took a slight hit, with Kelly Olynyk moving into the starting lineup and fellow rookie Karlo Matkovic playing better basketball. However, fantasy managers seeking “silly season” value shouldn’t give up on Missi, as evidenced by his performance against the Suns.

The Pelicans played Friday’s game without CJ McCollum and Zion Williamson, and Hawkins was one of the replacements who benefitted individually. Finishing one point shy of his season-high, the Pelicans guard shot over 50 percent from the field and recorded a complete stat line. While this may not mean much for Hawkins’ fantasy value in the short term, this performance will place him on more watchlists ahead of the “silly season.”

Murphy and Missi are the only holdovers from the lineup that started Thursday’s win over the Suns. Hawkins moves into the starting five with CJ McCollum out, while Brown and Olynyk start after not playing on Thursday. Zion Williamson is unavailable, while rookie Karlo Matkovic will come off the bench.

Washington did not play in Thursday’s win over the Hornets, with Naji Marshall replacing him in the starting lineup. While Marshall shot 1-of-11 from the field, he remains a worthwhile streamer when allowed to start. Olivier-Maxence Prosper only played four minutes off the bench on Thursday.

Boston has missed nine of his team’s previous 10 games and is now set to miss his seventh consecutive contest. He hasn’t been in the rotation for a while and his absence shouldn’t affect fantasy basketball.

Williamson can’t play in the second leg of back-to-backs and McCollum is resting. Jose Alvarado has a strong chance to start at point guard but New Orleans could replace Williamson in a variety of ways.

Matkovic finished with the second-highest scoring and rebound totals of his career and his first double-double. The rookie has played an increased role for the banged-up Pels over the last month, and he’s now started three games. The Bosnian big man has averaged 11.7 points, 9.3 rebounds 1.7 blocks and 1.7 triples in those contests.

Irving continues to carry the load for Dallas on both ends of the floor, but this time, it led to a win after two straight losses. Irving’s production on the defensive end recently has been an excellent boost for fantasy managers; he is averaging two steals and two blocks over the Mavs’ last three games. Of course, the offensive production continues to be there, though his shooting percentage has been slightly down recently. That can be attributed to Irving being the focal point of opposing defenses due to the other injuries that Dallas is dealing with, which is something that could haunt the Mavericks for the rest of the season with Luka Doncic gone and Anthony Davis injured.

Williamson led his team in scoring and dimes and tied for the team lead on the glass. Phoenix’s interior defense got crushed, allowing 50 boards and 58 paint points, and Williamson took full advantage of the defensive lapses. The assists tie a career-high, and Williamson now has his first career triple-double under his belt. He’s best known for his scoring and rebounds, but Williamson has averaged better than 4.6 assists for the last three seasons. The Pels get the Suns for a rematch on Friday for the second leg of a back-to-back set.

Brown, who signed a 10-day contract with Dallas on February 19, made his third appearance and first start for the Mavericks on Thursday. He didn’t provide much value in his first two games, but he was a streaming superstar on a night with only five games. Brown split the center minutes with Dwight Powell, who contributed six points, six rebounds and three assists in 16 minutes off the bench. Brown may be worth streaming against the Bucks on Saturday, unless he isn’t brought back on a second 10-day deal.

Marshall entered the starting lineup on Thursday in place of PJ Washington, who was sidelined with an ankle injury. Marshall has generally been productive as a starter this season, but he struggled to get any shot to go down on Thursday. Still, he was able to provide some solid value in rebounds and assists, though that was the extent of his contributions to fantasy managers in this game. If Washington remains out against the Bucks on Saturday, Marshall should start again and hopefully have a more productive night offensively.

With Kelly Olynyk sidelined for the first night of this back-to-back, Matkovic will return to the starting lineup. Matkovic has been productive in his two starts this season and should be a solid source of rebounds and blocks in an increased role.

PJ Washington is out, leaving the frontcourt rather thin. Marshall will replace him, and the Mavs will go with a different look at center, replacing Kessler Edwards with Brown. Dante Exum is available, but he’ll come off the bench. Brown could provide some value as a blocks and rebounds streamer.

Powell returned Tuesday and logged 16 minutes, finishing with two points, five boards and a block. Despite multiple injuries across Dallas’ frontcourt rotation, Powell isn’t an attractive streaming option.

Washington will miss a game for the first time since before the All-Star break, which will open up a spot in the starting unit. Olivier-Maxence Prosper is a candidate to fill the void, but Naji Marshall will likely be the best fantasy option with Washington out, regardless of who starts.

Washington has not missed a game since the All-Star break, but his ankle injury lingers. Powell played 16 minutes on Tuesday in his first game in just over one month. Washington’s availability is more impactful to fantasy basketball, especially with Anthony Davis (groin) out. There’s no need to roster Powell if he’s available to play.

With Bruce Brown (rest) also out for Thursday’s game, Boston’s continued absence leaves the Pelicans light on options on the wings. Jordan Hawkins and Antonio Reeves should play more despite being reserves, with the former offering a higher fantasy ceiling.

Thursday’s game is the first of two in as many nights the Pelicans will play in Phoenix, so some availability issues were expected. Olynyk’s absence is more impactful, opening up a place within the starting lineup. Karlo Matkovic and Jose Alvarado are potential replacements. Both will have added value whether they start or come off the bench, as Brown is one of the Pelicans’ better reserves.

Thompson was relatively quiet during the first three quarters and then heated up during the fourth. He scored 11 of his 22 points in the final frame, but the Mavericks were unable to get over the hump. The 22 points are the most Thompson has scored in a game since February 6, when he dropped 25 on the Celtics. Given how shorthanded the Mavericks are, with Anthony Davis among the absentees, they’ll need more consistent production from Klay. If he can provide that, fantasy managers will also benefit.

Before Tuesday’s game, Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said Powell would be limited to 10-12 minutes in his first game back from a hip injury. He played 16 minutes and replaced Kessler Edwards (four points and three rebounds in 13 minutes) in the lineup to begin the third quarter. Powell did not provide much value outside of rebounds, and that isn’t enough to make him worth streaming while the Mavericks are shorthanded in the frontcourt. However, consistent rotation minutes won’t be an issue for Powell as long as he remains healthy.

Irving was magnificent on Tuesday, and he has now scored 30 points or more in four of his last five outings. Since February 5, the Mavericks guard has been a top-10 player in eight- and nine-cat formats. With Anthony Davis (groin) out, even more of the offensive workload has fallen on Irving’s shoulders. And to the delight of fantasy managers, he’s answered the call. Dallas plays twice more during Week 17, starting with the reeling Hornets on Thursday.

On the other side of Luka Doncic facing his former team for the first time was Christie, a second-round pick of the Lakers in 2022. Overall, he’s played well since being traded to Dallas. However, Christie has scored 12 points on 5-of-18 shooting in his last two appearances. In his first seven games as a Maverick, the third-year guard averaged 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.4 three-pointers, shooting 51.9 percent from the field and 84 percent from the foul line. Christie will look to snap out of his mini-slump when the Mavericks host Charlotte on Thursday.
