This was not the way Washington wanted to end his season, but he wasn’t alone. Both he and Dereck Lively II were held scoreless in this game despite both playing more than 20 minutes. Washington missed all five of his shot attempts, while Lively missed each of his two shots. Both found other ways to contribute in the box score, but this was an abysmal offensive performance for them. Washington and Lively will both be starters for Dallas again next season, and this one game isn’t enough for managers to be concerned about them next year, especially with Kyrie Irving coming back.

Williams was a bright spot for Dallas in what was mostly an abysmal performance for the team in their play-in loss. After scoring 17 points against the Kings on Wednesday, Williams was once again able to help the Mavs in the scoring department. The 25-year-old point guard only became part of the rotation after multiple injuries in front of him, but he took advantage of the opportunity. His role will be limited with Kyrie Irving healthy to start next season, but Williams is an intriguing player to keep an eye on in dynasty formats.

Thompson’s play-in performance this season was significantly better than it was last season. It wasn’t enough to get the Mavericks to the postseason in his first year with the team, but it was good to see Klay play well. His first season in Dallas likely wasn’t as expected, and his numbers dropped off from his final year with the Warriors. However, he was also expecting to play with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in the postseason. Thompson is still one of the best shooters in the league, and Dallas should be more dangerous next season when they are fully healthy. That should help Klay be more productive.

Davis wrapped up the season on a high note individually, though it wasn’t a great performance for the rest of his team. His 40 points were the most he has had in a game since the Lakers traded him in January. Unfortunately, he exited this game with a little over eight minutes remaining and didn’t get to add to his scoring total. The team hasn’t released an official injury update, but he was limping off the floor. He’ll have the offseason to recover, and there is no reason to think he won’t be ready to start the 2025-26 season.

Williams was initially listed as probable, so his availability isn’t a surprise. He logged 18 minutes in Wednesday’s win over the Kings, and he was able to contribute 17 points and five assists. He should once again play a significant bench role.

Having suffered an oblique injury during Sunday’s loss to the Grizzlies, Williams was a game-time decision for Wednesday’s Play-In tournament matchup. Not only did he play, but he flourished, giving the Mavericks excellent minutes off the bench. Mavericks coach Jason Kidd went ten deep with his rotation, preferring Williams over Spencer Dinwiddie, who only played the final two minutes, and the approach worked. The Mavericks visit Memphis on Friday, with the winner earning the eighth seed in the West.

Thompson did not enter the Play-In tournament in good form, scoring 13 points on 5-of-16 shooting in his final two regular-season appearances. The veteran sharpshooter found his groove on Wednesday, especially during the second quarter. Shooting 5-of-5 from the field with four three-pointers, Thompson scored 16 points in a quarter the Mavericks won by a 44-19 margin. This version of Thompson is the one the Mavericks will need on Friday, as they visit Memphis with the eighth seed in the West going to the winner.

Davis was impactful on both ends as the Mavericks rolled to a victory in Sacramento. He and Klay Thompson combined to shoot 8-of-9 from the field in the second quarter, which Dallas won by a 44-19 margin. Davis was also solid as a rebounder and shot blocker, and looked healthy in 35 minutes on the court. Next up for Dallas is Memphis on Friday, with the winner earning the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

Irrving tore the ACL in his left knee on March 3, ending his season. He has a player option worth $44 million next season, but Charania reported that the Mavericks would like to tear up that deal to give the point guard a three-year extension this summer. That approach would align Irving with Anthony Davis and GM Nico Harrison regarding the remaining years on their respective contracts. With Spencer Dinwiddie being a free agent this summer, whoever else is in the Mavericks’ point guard rotation may have higher value to begin the season due to Irving’s injury.

The undrafted rookie wrapped up his first season in the NBA on a high note. Battle set new career highs for both points and three-pointers and became the 48th rookie in league history to hit seven triples in one game. He is the fourth rookie this season to reach that mark, with Bub Carrington, Dalton Knecht and Jaylen Wells also doing it. Battle has played well as part of Toronto’s rotation over the past month, but there likely won’t be minutes for him with the Raptors to start next season.

Hardy’s stat line was unsurprising to those familiar with his game. While the absences meant more opportunities for the third-year guard, his inefficiency limits Hardy’s fantasy ceiling. He didn’t do enough scoring to reach a triple-double, but Mogbo became the seventh player this season to record a rebound-assist double-double. It was a solid way to end his rookie season and cap off a four-game stretch where he averaged 12.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, nine assists, 2.5 steals and one block per game. The second-round pick has showcased a ton of upside in year one, but it’s unclear how he’ll fit into the rotation next season when the rest of the team is healthy. Still, when he gets the opportunity to play, he should be an effective, well-rounded fantasy option.

In what has been a disappointing season for both Barnes and the Raptors, he was able to close the season out on a high note. He finishes his fourth season in the NBA with averages of 19.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.4 steals, one block and 1.2 threes per game. Toronto should be more competitive next season with Brandon Ingram and a lottery pick entering the rotation. That should help Barnes bounce back from a disappointing campaign where he shot a career-worst 44.6 percent from the floor.

Temple played just two minutes before suffering a knee sprain that will keep him sidelined for the rest of the season finale. Toronto will only have seven available players to close out this game. AJ Lawson should see a boost in minutes with Temple unavailable. Temple ends his age-38 season as merely a veteran presence reserve and has started just twice in three seasons. He’ll be a free agent this offseason and could struggle to continue his career.

Barrett will sit out Sunday’s season finale for rest reasons, while Walter’s absence is due to a tight right hip flexor. Ochai Agbaji and Jamison Battle started Friday’s loss in Dallas and should retain those roles in San Antonio. Barrett has long been a better option in points leagues than category leagues, but he did make some strides in the former this season, providing 12th-round value in eight-cat formats. However, the addition of Brandon Ingram at the trade deadline does not bode well for Barrett’s fantasy prospects in 2025-26. The same can be said for Walter, as injuries limited the first-round pick to 52 appearances as a rookie. While Barrett can be selected with a late-round pick in standard drafts, Walter should be left alone in redraft leagues.

Quickley and Poeltl will end their seasons in street clothes, as both will sit out Sunday’s finale in San Antonio. While he finishes the season as a ninth-round player in eight- and nine-cat formats, injuries limited Quickley to 33 appearances this season. With the addition of Brandon Ingram at the trade deadline, Quickley’s scoring opportunities may decrease next season. As for Poeltl, the veteran center was a top-50 player in nine-cat formats and ranked just outside that threshold in eight-cat. While his scoring may take a hit next season, Poeltl does enough as a rebounder and defender to preserve most of his fantasy value. AD may have struggled in his first game against his former team when the Mavericks hosted the Lakers on Wednesday, but that didn’t carry over into Friday’s performance whatsoever. He entered halftime on quadruple-double watch after contributing 12 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and six blocks in the first half. Unfortunately, he only added one more block in the second half, and he only played 30 minutes, though that can be attributed to the lopsided score. Davis should be in for another big night in the season finale in Memphis on Sunday before they take on the Kings in the Play-In Tournament next week.

Christie’s tenure with the Mavericks got off to a strong start, and while he wasn’t able to maintain that for most of March, he has been playing well entering the postseason. He has scored in double figures in five of his last six appearances, and this was Christie’s highest-scoring performance since March 19, when he also scored 17 points. Christie should be a solid reserve in the postseason, but it’s difficult to see him providing standard league value when Dallas is fully healthy next season.

It has been a rough stretch offensively for Barnes. but after getting two games off to nurse his right hand injury, he was able to have some success on Friday. He had his highest-scoring performance since March 20 despite his abysmal night from the free throw line. It’s unclear if Barnes will be available for Toronto’s season finale in San Antonio on Sunday since they are locked in to the seventh-best lottery odds. If this was Barnes’ final game of the season, he was able to end a rough year on a high note.

Agbaji got off to a scorching hot start to Friday’s game and scored 17 points in the first quarter alone while shooting a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor, which included five three-pointers. Unfortunately, he didn’t do much over the final three quarters to add to his spectacular start. This tied his season-high for both points and three-pointers, both of which were set in a late-November win over the Pelicans. Agbaji has been in and out of the lineup recently, so his status for Sunday’s finale in San Antonio is unclear.

This was Lively’s fourth appearance since he injured his ankle back in the middle of January. His 18 minutes in this game were the most he has played since prior to his injury, and while it wasn’t much more than he played in his previous three games, he was able to record his first double-double since January 9. He had a total of 12 points and eight rebounds in his last three games, and he was held without a rebounds against the Lakers on Wednesday. It’s good to see Lively playing well after such a lengthy absence.

Lawson, who signed a contract with the Raptors earlier in the day on Friday that will keep him with Toronto through the end of the 2025-26 season, played well in his first game since signing the new deal. He recorded his second career double-double, with the first coming a little over a month before this one. Lawson should once again play a significant role in the season finale in San Antonio on Sunday, but he isn’t a player that will carry much value over to next season.

While Shead did not have a great afternoon shooting the basketball, he was excellent at distributing it. The first-round pick out of Houston is the seventh rookie and first since Deron Williams to have an eight-game run in which he recorded at least 53 assists and nine turnovers or less. Like fellow rookie Jonathan Mogbo, Shead has received additional opportunities because veterans have been unavailable. Managers whose leagues will be active during Week 23 should strongly consider adding Shead, especially if they need assists.

While Agbaji finished one blocked shot shy of a complete stat line, this was not his best performance. The turnover count was more concerning than the field goal percentage, as he racked up four. However, the Raptors’ current rotation looks nothing like it will when the team is whole. Fantasy managers watching Agbaji with an eye toward next season’s drafts should keep that in mind; even if he were to blow up, his draft value will be pretty low with a healthy Scottie Barnes, Brandon Ingram and RJ Barrett in the fold.

Once again filling in for the injured Scottie Barnes, Mogbo was excellent in Brooklyn. He recorded his first double-double, joining Jared Rhoden, Jamal Shead and Ja’Kobe Walter as Raptors who have recorded their first double-double this season. With the Raptors out of postseason contention, playing time should not be an issue for Mogbo during the season’s final week, regardless of Barnes’ availability.

Over the past two weeks, the veteran sharpshooter is ranked outside the top 200 in eight- and nine-cat formats. Thompson has primarily been a points and three-pointers player this season, and his field goal percentage of 41.3 percent is the lowest of his career. Thompson managers whose leagues are active during Week 23 will have three games to work with, starting with Wednesday’s matchup against the Lakers.

Saturday’s game was Lively’s second since returning from a stress fracture in his ankle. As expected, there’s still some rust, and the Mavericks are taking a conservative approach to his workload. Lively only played 15 minutes, offering limited value during his time on the court. With Daniel Gafford (knee) sitting out, Kai Jones assumed the backup center responsibilities and had an excellent night. Shooting 9-of-9 from the field, he finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, one steal and three blocks. However, as good as this line was, fantasy managers whose leagues will be active next week don’t need to pick up Jones. Dallas plays on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, which should ensure that Lively and Gafford are available.

After sitting out Friday’s loss to the Clippers, Davis was back in the lineup for Saturday’s rematch. While the points and rebounds were solid, his efficiency left something to be desired. Not only did Davis shoot below 50 percent from the field, but he was also responsible for six turnovers. Over the past two weeks, he has been a ninth-round player in eight-cat formats, ranking just outside the top-100 according to Basketball Monster. For Davis managers whose leagues run through Week 23, the Mavericks play three games, all on the busiest days of the week (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday).

This second contract will keep Swider with Toronto for the remainder of the season. He made six appearances on the first 10-day deal and averaged 6.5 rebounds, 2.3 rebounds and 1.5 three-pointers in 17.8 minutes per game. As the season winds down, he could take on more minutes, but he isn’t a player to target in fantasy basketball.

Quickley has been in and out of the lineup with rest days lately, which could explain his rusty jumper as he was just 5-of-16 from the field Friday. The 25-year-old point guard still had a big impact on the game as he was just two rebounds and two assists shy of a triple-double. It’s difficult to say Quickley will be able to build on this performance because it’s just as likely the Raptors give him another game off for rest.

Walter led the team in minutes played with 32 as well as points with 22 in Friday’s loss to the Pistons. The 20-year-old shooting guard made the most of his opportunity as the team continues to give him looks down the stretch of a lost season. Walter figures to be a part of the Raptors future plans as a rotational player at minimum.
