Jokić started the year with a triple-double in each of the first four games of the season. That streak came to an end on Friday as the 30-year-old center had 21 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists against the Trail Blazers. Jokić missed it by one assist. Alas, he’ll have to wait until Monday against the Kings for his next chance at recording a triple-double.

Johnson’s layup attempt with seven seconds left in regulation of a tie game was erases by Toumani Camara and the Trail Blazers would go on to win on free throws. The 29-year-old small forward has struggled mightily in his first few games with the Nuggets. Johnson has failed to score even 10 points in four of five games this year. He’s dealing with a shoulder injury that could be the root cause of his struggles and fantasy managers have to take that into account.

After scoring nine points or less in Phoenix’s first five games, Dunn cracked double figures on Friday. He also matched his career-high in rebounds, notching his fourth career double-double. Dunn is lurking just outside the top-100 in nine-cat formats, but the limited scoring and low free-throw percentage lower his ceiling. That said, he’s averaging nearly two combined steals and blocks per game, representing decent value for the second-year wing.

Allen continues to start as the Suns await the return of Jalen Green, who remains day-to-day with a strained hamstring. Allen didn’t shoot the ball well against the Jazz, but the complete stat line will salvage something for those who have him rostered in category leagues. He’s providing top-75 value in nine-cat formats and should be rostered as long as the Suns are without Green. Allen is available in nearly 70 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Booker put on a show on Friday, leading the Suns to their first win in NBA Cup group play. While he didn’t record any defensive stats, the offensive production was excellent, with the Suns guard finishing an assist shy of his second 30-point double-double. The most significant issue for Booker regarding his fantasy value has been turnovers, as he’s averaging 4.0 per game. He only had one against the Jazz in another reminder that fantasy managers should not lose any sleep over Booker’s turnovers.

Williams made his first start of the season on Wednesday, and all that was missing from his final stat line was a three-pointer. He shot the ball well from the field and was active as a rebounder and defender. Some fantasy managers were unwilling to roll the dice on Williams due to his injury history, as he’s yet to play 50 games in a season. While that will remain a concern until he proves he can stay healthy, Williams is off to a good start in Phoenix. He’s providing top-50 value in nine-cat formats, exceeding his Yahoo! ADP of 83.

Not on the radar for many fantasy managers during draft season, Gillespie has emerged as a reputable deep-league option. He recorded a complete stat line against the Grizzlies and played 31 minutes off the bench. Gillespie, who’s rostered in 10 percent of Yahoo! leagues, has clearly earned the trust of Suns head coach Jordan Ott. And with the Suns playing two more games during Week 2, adding Gillespie wouldn’t be a bad idea for deep-league managers needing a point guard.

O’Neale has made at least two three-pointers in each of the Suns’ five games, but he’s kicked things up a notch with Dillon Brooks (groin) unavailable. A starter in Phoenix’s last two games, the veteran forward is a combined 11-of-23 from beyond the arc. O’Neale’s performance on Wednesday was closer to the norm than his showing against the Jazz two nights prior, but he’s worth rostering until Brooks is cleared to return.

Booker was 10-of-26 from the field on Wednesday, but an 11-of-26 night would have meant a Suns victory. His three-pointer just before time expired missed the mark, dropping Phoenix to 1-4 on the season. Thus far, Booker is ranked outside the top-100 in nine-cat formats, with turnovers being the issue. He committed three against the Grizzlies but averages nearly five per game on the season. Booker has only averaged four or more turnovers per game once in his career, so fantasy managers should not be too concerned.

Murray was productive over the first two quarters of Monday’s contest, but hadn’t put his fingerprints on the game in any significant way to that point. However, he erupted after halftime, tallying four three-pointers and five free throws en route to a massive 23-point third quarter, which took Denver from down eight points at halftime to up eight entering the fourth frame. Jokic logged his highest-scoring game of the season en route to his third consecutive triple-double. Gillespie took on a starting role late last season for the Suns, but he has started this year in a reserve role. That hasn’t led to much production, but he shined brightly in this one. He set a new career-high for assists and turned in a full stat line. Allen has filled in nicely in place of Jalen Green, who has yet to make his debut for the Suns due to a hamstring injury. He has hit 15 three-pointers through four games, which was what we anticipated. The added boost has been the assists; he is averaging 5.5 per game, which far exceeds any previous season average. Williams has been coming off the bench for the Suns, but he played a much larger role than Oso Ighodaro, who only played 13 minutes as the starting center. Booker had some magic at the end of regulation, knocking down two contested threes that helped the Suns comeback from down seven with 20 seconds left to force overtime. They weren’t able to get the job done in overtime, but it ended up being the best performance of the year for him. Booker set new season highs for points, assists and three-pointers while setting a new season low for turnovers. After an inefficient triple-double in the season opener, Jokic was far more efficient in this one. He only missed two shots. That’s easier to do when you only take eight shots. Jokic’s unique ability to completely dominate games without shooting often is incredible. He only took one shot in the first half, and he ended up recording the eighth triple-double of his career where he took eight or fewer shots. After only taking 10 shots in the Suns’ previous game, Booker was more aggressive on the offensive end in this one and was able to get back over the 30-point threshold. He also increased his assist count over the last two games, though a new season-high for turnovers came with that. Defenses are able to key in on Booker, but he’s still able to punish them as a scorer. He leads the Suns in assists through two games and scored in double figures in each of those contests. Booker’s Friday performance was a bit quieter than the 31-point outing against the Kings in the season opener. He was limited to 10 field goal attempts against the Clippers and had to rely on the free-throw line for a good chunk of his scoring. Booker was impactful as a passer, though, as he led Phoenix in assists and flirted with a double-double. He’ll presumably have better performances in the near future, with a chance to bounce back on Saturday against the Nuggets.

Brooks was accurate on high volume from beyond the arc on Friday, which allowed him to tally at least 20 points for the second straight game. The total output was enough to lead the team in scoring, which isn’t shocking when also considering Jalen Green’s absence. This was a strong way to start the year off for Murray, who had a Yahoo! ADP of 37.3. He only had five double-doubles all of last season. Of course, Jokic started off the year with a triple-double. This was the second straight season that he recorded a triple-double in the season opener. It was a subpar shooting performance for him, and his struggles from beyond the arc (2-of-12) were certainly a factor. Obviously, there is no reason to be concerned about Jokic after one game. Gordon had an unreal start to this game, making his first eight attempts from beyond the arc. He ended up setting a new career-high for both points and three-pointers, with the 10th triple giving Denver a lead late in the fourth before Stephen Curry forced overtime. Gordon only added five more points in the extra frame, with two of those coming after the game was all but over. It was a monster performance that was wasted in the loss, though that aspect won’t matter for fantasy managers. Hardaway Jr. started and played 22 minutes, but when the Nuggets have all their starters playing he’s going to come off the bench. Still, the 33-year-old shooting guard showed he still has something left in the tank with the Pistons last year.
