Gary Payton II and Al Horford should both help make up for Green’s absence, though neither holds much upside for fantasy managers. With Zaccharie Risacher (knee) still out, the Hawks decided to go with Corey Kispert (two points, one rebound, one assist and one steal) as the fifth starter instead of McCollum or Vit Krejčí (zero points, two assists). However, this did not prevent McCollum from being the one on the court as the Hawks mounted a fourth-quarter rally. More concerning than the role was McCollum playing 24 minutes. If he can consistently get into the high-20s, the veteran guard will have an easier time preserving most of his fantasy value.

Alexander-Walker was on a heater during the fourth quarter, making five of his six three-point attempts. After recording five 30-point stat lines in his first six NBA seasons, the Hawks’ guard has seven such games during the 2025-26 campaign. Daniels, who recorded his seventh double-double of the season, finished three assists shy of his career-high on Monday. He was one rebound shy of his second triple-double, and Daniels has been a top-15 per-game player in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. Johnson produced another excellent stat line, finishing with his 28th double-double of the season. At this time last season, which is about when a shoulder injury sidelined him for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign, the Hawks forward had 20 double-doubles. Included in Monday’s stat line were 16 rebounds, two shy of his season and career-high. Look for Johnson to continue to flourish, and it would be unsurprising if he were named an All-Star reserve later this month.

The Hawks welcome Daniels back after a one-game absence, and his return means that CJ McCollum will head back to the bench. Melton stepped up to spearhead Golden State’s offensive output on a night where Stephen Curry finished with just 14 points and Jimmy Butler sat out for personal reasons. He knocked down 3-of-6 from beyond the arc as the Warriors bench went off for 72 points. The 27-year-old has been hot-and-cold this season but he’s in the midst of a nice stretch, scoring at least 19 points in four of his last six games. Atlanta never recovered after getting off to a brutal start, shooting 35 percent (17-of-48) in the opening half while allowing the Celtics to erupt for 81 first-half points on 63 percent shooting (30-of-48), resulting in a massive 31-point deficit at the break. Simply put, they never recovered. Okongwu has topped 20 points in back-to-back contests and is averaging 16.4 point and 7.9 boards through 42 games this season, delivering third-round fantasy value. Okongwu was Atlanta’s top scorer on the evening, finishing as one of only two Hawks players to reach the 20-point mark. More than half of his production came from beyond the arc, and Thursday’s outing marked the fourth time this January that he’s tallied at least three made three-pointers in a game. McCollum’s second game in a Hawks uniform played out similarly to his first. The veteran guard reached the 20-point mark for the second straight game but shot inefficiently from beyond the arc along the way, while making decent contributions as a facilitator. Melton has been excellent off the bench for the Warriors recently, and that continued in this game. His 23 points were the most he’s had in a game since 2023, and it also led both teams in scoring. It has been a long journey back to healthy for Melton, but he’s only 27 years old and has always had a fantasy-friendly game. Curry didn’t do much scoring in this game, but he made up for it by playing the facilitator role. His seven points were a new season low, but the 11 dimes were a new season high. In fact, he has double digit assists just twice this season, with both coming during the Warriors’ last two games. If he can keep up the playmaking, Curry’s value will only rise, but managers won’t have to worry about him scoring less than 10 points often.

McCollum was solid in his first game as a Hawk, but he really showcased what he can be for them in this game. Though the starters struggled, the bench unit had more success, and McCollum was a big part of that. Sunday’s production was in line with what many fantasy managers hope to see from Butler consistently. The veteran forward finished with his first 30-point game since December 18 and fourth of the season. Over the past two weeks, Butler has offered third-round value in eight-cat formats, so he hasn’t been struggling. Having recorded back-to-back 20-point games for the first time since mid-December, Butler could not extend that run to three on Friday. While the rebounds and assists were solid, this is part of the issue for fantasy managers. While capable of doing a lot more, many nights feel as if he hasn’t done much more than what’s required. The fantasy ranking may be good, but one can’t blame managers for lamenting what they’re missing on most nights regarding Butler’s production.

A big part of Melton’s fantasy appeal is his ability to record complete stat lines. That didn’t happen on Friday, but the Warriors’ guard had one of his best offensive performances of the season. The 19 points were three shy of his season-high, which was recorded on Wednesday against the Bucks. Melton has been a safe bet for assists and defensive stats in the past, so there isn’t too much need for concern following Friday’s lack of numbers in those categories. And he played 19 minutes; if Melton can consistently get closer to 25 minutes, he can be a game-changer down the stretch in fantasy leagues.
