Post, who last appeared in a game on March 29, remains out for Friday’s Play-In Tournament game. The Warriors went with an eight-man rotation on Wednesday against the Clippers, and that’s likely to remain the case as long as Kristaps Porziņǵis (ankle; questionable) is available.

One day removed from playing 28 minutes in Wednesday’s win over the Clippers, Porziņǵis is on the injury report due to a sore left ankle. If he’s unable to play on Friday, the Warriors may turn to Al Horford, who logged 22 minutes on Wednesday. That would mean more minutes for Gary Payton II as well, even though he does not share a position with Porziņǵis or Horford.

Santos stepped up in a big way for the Warriors during the second half of the season, and that continued into a strong play-in performance for him. He entered the starting lineup when Stephen Curry went down with a knee injury in late January and took full advantage of the opportunity. He ended up signing a three-year, $15 million contract extension with Golden State that may end up looking like a bargain. Santos will continue to be a pivotal piece for the Warriors with the postseason continuing for them on Friday in Phoenix.

Porziņģis entered the postseason having shot below 40 percent in three straight games. However, he was able to post his best field goal percentage as a Warrior in this game, which contributed to them surviving the 9/10 play-in game. They’ll need Porziņģis at his best in Friday’s game against the Suns to have a chance to advance to the playoffs. Porziņģis’ availability has been limited this season, but when he’s been on the floor, his impact has been clear.

Curry came alive late in this game in a way that only he can. He shot 10-of-14 from the floor in the second half and scored 27 points after the break to help bring the Warriors back. He also played 36 minutes, which is the most he has played in a game since December. Curry missed most of the second half of the season with a knee injury, but it didn’t seem to limit him in this game. He’ll need to have another big performance in Phoenix on Friday for the Warriors to advance to the playoffs.

Post missed the season finale against the Clippers and is now set to miss the Play-In Tournament game. The foot injury has kept the second-year center out of the lineup since March 29 against the Nuggets. Kerr made the comments following Sunday’s regular-season finale, a loss to the Clippers in the first of two meetings between the teams over four days. None will surpass 40 minutes, but the question is how far beyond 30 minutes the veterans will go. Curry’s 29 minutes on Sunday were the most for him since returning from a case of runner’s knee, and Porziņǵis has logged 29 minutes just twice since joining the Warriors. As for Horford, he has exceeded 30 minutes just twice this season, most recently March 10 against the Bulls.

Shams notes that Dončić and Austin Reaves (oblique) are unlikely to be available for the Lakers’ first-round series against the Rockets. Filling the void left by LA’s superstars will be no easy task, and the Lakers will tackle the issue using a platoon approach. Hachimura has been on a hot streak recently, having scored in double figures in five straight games. However, this was his best game of the stretch, as it was his highest-scoring outing since January and his first double-double of the season. With the status of Luka Dončić (hamstring) and Austin Reaves (oblique) up in the air, Hachimura will be a vital piece for the Lakers against the Rockets in the first round.

It has been an up-and-down first year with the Lakers for Ayton, but he ended the regular season on a high note. This was his first 20-point double-double in a month, and he was also able to make an impact as a shot blocker. The health of Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves are the two biggest questions for the Lakers right now, but Ayton will also be a big factor for them. Knecht hasn’t played much during his second season in the league, but he got the opportunity in the blowout win. He took advantage and stuffed the stat sheet, but he’ll likely be back on the bench for the playoffs. After logging 26 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Kings, Porziņǵis played 24 minutes on Sunday. The lingering question going into the Play-In Tournament is how much the 7-foot-2 center can play, especially with the Warriors needing two wins to reach the playoffs. Draymond Green (back) was not available on Sunday; getting him back for Wednesday’s rematch with the Clippers will clearly help matters in the frontcourt. But in Porziņǵis and Al Horford (5/4/2 in 19 minutes), the Warriors have two veteran post players whose minutes have been limited for most of the season.

The plan going into Sunday’s regular-season finale was for Curry to play no more than 30 minutes. He logged 29 against the Clippers and looked relatively sharp, shooting 50 percent from the field and recording a complete stat line. The Warriors knew what their playoff seed would be; Curry approaching 30 minutes was about ensuring his body was ready to take on more as the team heads into the postseason. The Warriors return to Inglewood on Wednesday to play the Clippers, with the loser heading home and the winner visiting either Phoenix or Portland on Friday.

He joins John Stockton, Chris Paul and Jason Kidd on that esteemed list. As for Friday’s victory, the 41-year-old continues to shoulder a heavier workload, with the Lakers not having Luka Dončić or Austin Reaves due to injury. James has recorded points/assists double-doubles in all three games he’s played since those two went down in Oklahoma City on April 2. With their win over the Suns, the Lakers still have a chance of being the No. 3 seed in the West.
