Gordon played 46 of a possible 53 minutes in Saturday’s overtime victory to open the series. He’s on the injury report for injury management reasons, and the probable tag suggests Gordon will be available in the end. Peyton Watson, who logged 14 minutes in Game 1, will take on additional playing time if the Nuggets’ starting power forward is limited in any way.

Murray did not get off to the best start on Saturday, shooting 2-of-8 from the field in the first half. While slightly better after the intermission, the rebounds and assists were where the Nuggets guard was most impactful in Game 1. Who helped pick up the slack in stretches was Russell Westbrook. Despite shooting 5-of-17 from the field, he chipped in with 15 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and two three-pointers in 34 minutes off the bench. Murray’s overall stat line was solid, but the Nuggets will need him to shoot better moving forward.

Having finished the regular season with three consecutive games of at least 18 points, Gordon carried that positive form into Saturday’s playoff opener. During the regular season, he scored 20 points or more in 12 games, four more than his total during the 2023-24 campaign. While Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray are expected to lead the way offensively for the Nuggets, receiving consistent production from Gordon is crucial if they are to win this series. Denver will host Game 2 on Monday night.

Based on the numbers, no opposing center has done a better job defensively on Jokic than the Clippers’ Ivica Zubac. While he made the three-time MVP work in Saturday’s series opener, The Joker still finished one rebound shy of a triple-double while recording a complete stat line. Also, Jokic only committed two turnovers in his 46 minutes on the floor. As has been the case for most of his NBA career, Jokic is going to get his numbers, and he’ll do so efficiently. The Nuggets host Game 2 on Monday.

It was a balanced attack for Denver as six players scored in double figures, with none of them reaching 20 points. MPJ led the way, though just barely. Still, he was able to have an efficient shooting night to help the Nuggets win a third-straight game and clinch the fourth seed in the West. They will host the Clippers in the first round of the playoffs after getting a week off. Porter Jr. ends the regular season with averages of 18.2 points, seven rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.5 threes per game while shooting 50.4 percent from the floor.

Gordon did a little bit of everything in this game to help Denver clinch the fourth seed in the West. It was a balanced attack for Denver, and they ended up taking control of the game in the third quarter, which limited Gordon to just 26 minutes. However, he was still able to turn in a full stat line. They will get a week off before taking on the Clippers in the first round of the playoffs.

Head coach Ime Udoka opted to treat this game as a dress rehearsal for the playoffs, though he ended up pulling the plug in the second half once things got out of hand. Still, 26 minutes was enough time for Thompson to turn in a full stat line. He’ll be playing in his first playoffs starting next weekend for the No. 2 seed Rockets in what has been an impressive breakout season for the entire team. Thompson’s progression has been right at the center of it, and he should shine in the playoffs.

Thankfully, this was a meaningless game for the Rockets. Though head coach Ime Udoka treated it like any other game, Houston had already clinched the second seed in the West. Green played more than he did in each of their last two games, as he only played 15 minutes in each of those and was up to 21 minutes this afternoon. However, he did even less scoring on Sunday and set a new season-low for points. Green will make his playoff debut next weekend, though their matchup will depend on who makes it out of the Play-In Tournament.

Denver has much on the line for Sunday’s regular-season finale, as they can finish anywhere from fourth to seventh, depending on the day’s results. Murray is good to go, meaning the Nuggets can roll with their usual starting five. Jalen Pickett misses out on a boost to his fantasy value.

Absent from the initial injury report, Smith will not play in Houston’s regular-season finale. His absence likely frees up rotation minutes for Cam Whitmore, who went off for 34 points in Friday’s loss to the Lakers. His ceiling won’t be as high on Sunday, especially with Rockets coach Ime Udoka deciding to play his starters their usual minutes.

However, Houston has already secured the two-seed in the West, so the starters’ playing time may be limited. Sheppard made a second straight start on Friday, as the Rockets once again rested most of their starters. Houston has secured the two-seed in the West for next week’s playoffs, resulting in players like Sheppard seeing more action. The rookie guard has recorded nine assists and seven turnovers in his two starts. The assist-to-turnover ratio isn’t great, but Sheppard has hit double figures in scoring in both games. Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Nuggets may be another opportunity for Sheppard to start, as Houston already knows its playoff seed.

Once again, the Rockets decided to rest four starters, and Jalen Green (7/4/3/1 with one three-pointer) was shut down at halftime. Having secured the two-seed in the West, the Rockets have prioritized rest for their key players. The approach has freed additional minutes for Whitmore, who could not earn consistent playing time this season. The former first-round pick was rolling on Friday, shooting well over 50 percent from the field and recording a career-high point total. Fantasy managers in active leagues seeking a player who could potentially go off on Sunday should look no further than Whitmore, especially if the Rockets hold their starters out of the matchup with the Nuggets.

Porter Jr. had scored at least 20 points in four of his last five games entering play Friday. Against the Grizzlies, he followed up that stretch with a dub of a performance. The 26-year-old small forward grabbed 12 rebounds, but his offensive game was nonexistent as he had just seven points on 2-of-8 shooting from the field. While Porter has lived up to his preseason ADP as a top-75 player this season, he could fall in drafts next year as a player without upside for much more than what we’ve seen to this point.

The 29-year-old power forward stepped up his scoring as Jamal Murray was in his first game back from a hamstring injury. Sengun’s double-double was his second in three games and his 45th of the season. The Rockets’ center was a top-100 player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks, with his value taking a slight hit compared to what he’s done this season. Sengun and the Rockets are now one win or a Lakers’ loss away from wrapping up the two-seed in the West. This has been a highly impressive turnaround for the franchise, and Sengun has been in the middle of it all.

Green has scored 21 points or more in seven of his last eight appearances, with Houston’s March 31 loss to the Lakers being the exception. And he’s been more efficient, shooting 47 percent from the field over the past two weeks. The improved efficiency is why Green was a top-60 player in eight-cat formats during that stretch. Excellent timing for category league managers who had him rostered. For those whose leagues run through Week 23, the Rockets play three games, starting with the Clippers on Wednesday.

Brooks was back on the court after serving a one-game suspension on Friday, and he significantly contributed to the Rockets’ victory on Sunday. He’s scored 21 points or more in two straight games, and his 24 on Sunday were the most he’s had in a game since March 17. Jabari Smith Jr.'s playing time took a hit with Brooks back in the lineup, but he still contributed 16 points, nine rebounds, one assist and two three-pointers in 27 minutes off the bench. Westbrook was again used in a reserve role on Sunday, providing solid value off the bench.
