Mitchell has been sidelined since January 3 after undergoing surgery to address a right great toe sprain. The 2024 second-round pick had some solid performances prior to his injury and was able to carve out a reserve role for a talented Thunder team. He wasn’t great in his 18 minutes on Friday, but it was good to see him back on the floor. He should play a significant role in the regular season finale in New Orleans on Sunday, but he won’t play much during the postseason.

Joe fell one point shy of tying his career-high for points in a game, but he was still able to set a new career-high for three-pointers, which also tied the franchise record that was set by Paul George in 2019. Joe also set a new career-high for assists. Oklahoma City will wrap up the regular season in New Orleans on Sunday. Unless head coach Mark Daigneault opts to rest him for the postseason, Joe should once again play a significant role and likely provide more triples.

With the typical starters getting the night off, Wiggins was the primary scorer for Oklahoma City in this game, which allowed him to have his highest-scoring performance since his 41-point night in February. He had 22 points in the first half and kept it going after the break. Wiggins will return to being a valuable reserve for the Thunder in the postseason, but unless they rest him for the finale in New Orleans on Sunday, he should be in for another big scoring night to wrap up the regular season.

Williams has been a stud whenever the Thunder give Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein rest, and that continued in this game. He has started three times since the All-Star break and has recorded a triple-double in each of them. Williams only needed 25 minutes to reach those marks on Friday, and he was even able to add a self-lob off the glass to make things fancy. Williams should remain in the starting unit for the season finale in New Orleans on Sunday and should be in for another big night.

Sengun’s double-double was his second in three games and his 45th of the season. The Rockets’ center was a top-100 player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks, with his value taking a slight hit compared to what he’s done this season. Sengun and the Rockets are now one win or a Lakers’ loss away from wrapping up the two-seed in the West. This has been a highly impressive turnaround for the franchise, and Sengun has been in the middle of it all.

Green has scored 21 points or more in seven of his last eight appearances, with Houston’s March 31 loss to the Lakers being the exception. And he’s been more efficient, shooting 47 percent from the field over the past two weeks. The improved efficiency is why Green was a top-60 player in eight-cat formats during that stretch. Excellent timing for category league managers who had him rostered. For those whose leagues run through Week 23, the Rockets play three games, starting with the Clippers on Wednesday.

Brooks was back on the court after serving a one-game suspension on Friday, and he significantly contributed to the Rockets’ victory on Sunday. He’s scored 21 points or more in two straight games, and his 24 on Sunday were the most he’s had in a game since March 17. Jabari Smith Jr.'s playing time took a hit with Brooks back in the lineup, but he still contributed 16 points, nine rebounds, one assist and two three-pointers in 27 minutes off the bench. Smith remains the superior fantasy option, but Brooks can have the occasional night when he can provide unexpected value.

Williams had a rough afternoon, shooting 3-of-10 from inside the arc. The positive for those who have J-Dub rostered is that he did not add to that issue by turning the ball over, as he did not commit any turnovers. Given where the Thunder are in the standings, ensuring their key players are healthy for the postseason is more important than putting up gaudy stat lines. Oklahoma City’s four-game Week 23 includes a back-to-back, so Williams managers in active leagues may only have him for three games.

The Lakers had an excellent defensive game plan for Sunday’s game, using a variety of looks to limit the Thunder to 99 points. They also successfully defended Gilgeous-Alexander without fouling, as he failed to attempt a free throw in a game for the first time this season. SGA still shot over 50 percent from the field and recorded solid point and assist numbers, so all wasn’t lost for those with the MVP favorite on their rosters. Oklahoma City plays four games during the final week of the regular season, starting with the Lakers on Tuesday.

Gilgeous-Alexander’s 22 points were his lowest total since he scored 21 points against the Jazz on February 21. The 26-year-old’s typical level of play has reached heights that fantasy managers are miffed when he scores in the low-20s. Gilgeous-Alexander is still arguably the top player in fantasy. He’ll look to bounce back against the Lakers Sunday afternoon.

Sengun is not necessarily known for his scoring, but has had at least 30 points twice over his last five games. The 22-year-old center is certainly capable of big scoring games, but those are a rare occurrence given the big man doesn’t shoot many three-pointers at all. Sengun hasn’t lived up to his preseason Yahoo! ADP of 27 this season, but he’s still a capable player with a bright future.

Green has now scored at least 30 points four times over his last seven games. The 23-year-old shooting guard is one of the best scorers in the league when his shot is falling. That wasn’t totally the case on Friday as Green benefitted greatly from a friendly whistle. He got to the foul line 10 times and made nine free throws, which inflated his scoring total. We’ll see if Green can put up another big number Sunday against the Warriors.

The Rockets are without Dillon Brooks, who picked up his 16th technical foul of the season in Wednesday’s win over the Jazz. Adams will fill his spot in the starting lineup as the Rockets match up with Oklahoma City’s tandem of Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein. Gilgeous-Alexander long ago reached the point where nitpicking a 33-point effort counts as valid criticism. The 26-year-old point guard continued his dominant season against the Pistons Wednesday, though he was just 10-of-26 from the field in the 16-point win. SGA was a factor on the defensive end with three steals and two blocks. He’s now played eight more games than Nikola Jokic on the season (73 to 65), which could be the deciding factor in who the fantasy MVP is this year.

Brooks was whistled for a technical foul with 7:12 remaining in the first quarter when he kicked Collin Sexton in the stomach after being stripped of the basketball. That was his 16th of the season, which triggers an automatic one-game suspension, unless the league overturns the call. While this wasn’t Bruce Lee vs. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in “Game of Death,” it’s doubtful Brooks receives the benefit of the doubt. Managers shouldn’t expect to see him on the court on Friday when the Rockets host the Thunder. That could keep Tari Eason in the starting lineup, even if Fred VanVleet returns from his ankle injury.

Houston’s final two games of Week 22, Oklahoma City at home and Golden State on the road, will be far more challenging for Green and the Rockets.

The good news didn’t stop there for the 22-year-old point guard as he was highly effective. Thompson also, as usual, contributed on the defensive end. It appears that everything is fine with his ankle as Thompson continues to live up to the hype that comes with being a top-five draft selection.

Holmgren returned after missing Saturday’s game as he continues to manage a hip injury. The 22-year-old power forward was perhaps a little rusty, but the numbers were influenced by a blowout score. Holmgren played just 26 minutes. Holmgren’s off-night was just that, but the larger concern is more rest could be in store for him over the rest of the regular season now that the Thunder have clinched the No. 1 seed in the West.

The Thunder beat the Bulls by 28 Monday and the game was actually worse than the final score as Oklahoma City lost the fourth quarter by 12 while their backups were in. Gilgeous-Alexander didn’t need much time to have his MVP-impact felt. He produced this stat line in just 27 minutes. With only a few weeks left in the regular season, we’re running out of superlatives for the most spectacular player of the 2024-25 season.
