Injured during Saturday’s win over the Pelicans, Thompson will miss multiple games with a sprained ankle. The severity of the injury remains unknown, but the Rockets will be without their second-year guard for Week 19 (Yahoo! leagues) at a minimum. Fred VanVleet (ankle) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Magic and would help fill the void if cleared to play. However, if he’s unable to return, the Rockets will need to rely more on Aaron Holiday.

VanVleet has missed Houston’s last four games since aggravating a strained right ankle that sidelined him for a month. While the results of Thompson’s MRI on his left ankle are unknown, what is known is that he will not play on Monday. With Fred VanVleet (ankle) questionable, he can slide into the spot left vacant by Thompson if allowed to play. However, if VanVleet is also out, Aaron Holiday would be in line for more minutes, potentially as a starter.

Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein (10 points, 11 rebounds and one assist in 31 minutes) returned to the Thunder after sitting out Friday’s win over Portland, and both were effective. While the latter recorded his 23rd double-double of the season, Holmgren has blocked at least three shots in 11 games. The second-year forward/center has been a top-25 player since the All-Star break, but availability remains a lingering concern. Holmgren should be considered questionable for Monday’s rematch with the Nuggets, as he hasn’t played both games of a back-to-back since returning from a fractured hip in early February.

While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will get the headlines, and rightfully so, Williams is in the midst of the most productive stretch of his career. He’s scored 20 points or more in a career-high seven straight games, and the overall production has made him a fantasy standout. Since the All-Star break, Williams has been a top-10 player in eight- and nine-cat formats. While a wrist injury kept Williams out of Friday’s win over Portland, he did play both games of Oklahoma City’s most recent back-to-back. Hopefully, he’ll be available for Monday’s rematch with the Nuggets.

Thompson fell just shy of recording a triple-double with 15 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists prior to suffering an apparent left ankle injury during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s lopsided win over the Pelicans. He was spotted in the postgame locker room in a walking boot and exited the arena on crutches. There should be an update on his status at some point prior to Monday’s showdown against the Magic, but it looks like he’s going to wind up missing some time. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment.

Thompson continues to shine as one of the most versatile players in the Association. Houston’s point forward has stuffed the stat sheet with regularity since becoming a full-time starter on January 5. He landed awkwardly in the fourth quarter and limped to the locker room, which puts his status for Monday’s matchup with Orlando in question. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status ahead of that contest.

Williams moved into the starting lineup with Chet Holmgren (leg) and Isaiah Hartenstein both out Friday. The 22-year-old power forward didn’t disappoint fantasy mangers that chose to use him as a streamer. Williams had a triple-double and added three steals and two blocks on the defensive end. Eason started this one in place of Jabari Smith Jr., and both were impactful. Smith Jr. logged 28 minutes off the bench and finished with a 16/5/1 line to go with a block and a pair of three-pointers. Eason, however, was far superior from a fantasy standpoint as he stuffed the stat sheet and racked up valuable steals and three-pointers while contributing across the board. Eason is capable of posting similar lines every time he’s on the court, so make sure you pick him up if he’s still on your waiver wire. Thompson has played 40 minutes or more in his last two appearances, possibly a byproduct of the Rockets losing Fred VanVleet to an aggravation of the ankle strain that sidelined him for a month. Amen is effectively the starting point guard when VanVleet is out, with Alperen Sengun also taking on more playmaking responsibilities. Eason was one of the mainstays in the Rockets rotation who returned to action on Tuesday, and he recorded his fourth double-double of the season. Even with the limited double-double tally, production has rarely been an issue for the third-year forward. Availability has been the problem, with Eason still not cleared to play both games of back-to-backs. The Rockets won’t play another back-to-back during Week 18, but they do have one during Week 19, which isn’t good for those who have Eason rostered.

Sengun made up for lost time after sitting out Monday’s loss to the Thunder, leading the Rockets in scoring for the third time in the last four games. However, he has only been an 11th-round player in eight-cat formats over the past three weeks. Foul shooting (65.6 percent) and limited defensive production are the reasons for the recent downturn in Sengun’s fantasy value.
