Banchero led Orlando in scoring and helped carry the team to an upset win on the road. The Magic got strong contributions from Banchero, Franz Wagner (18/7/5) and Cole Anthony (22/4/9) to negate a 63-point combined effort from Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. Both teams shot better than 50% from the floor, but Orlando made just a couple more plays. Banchero and Co. will look to add another win when they face the Rockets on Monday.

Shead had a solid performance in this one, but he’ll be most remembered for his play in the closing seconds. With just over two seconds left, Shead nearly cost his team the ball by shuffling his feet as the inbounder. He went from hero to goat almost instantly by hitting a would-be game-winning shot at the buzzer, but a review from the refs showed that his fingertips were still on the ball while the clock read triple zeroes. There will be no love lost when these two teams meet again on Monday.

With Gradey Dick and Immanuel Quickley sidelined, Lawson and Shead will join the starting five alongside three stalwart starters. Lawson started Friday but posted a modest 6/3/1/1 line across 25 minutes. Shead will also make his second start of the season after posting 14 points and four dimes in his first stint with the starters. Neither Lawson nor Shead are recommended fantasy streamers.

Quickley was outstanding on Friday, with the 34 points being a season-high and the most he’s scored as a Raptor. While this has been a disappointing season for the Raptors guard, who’s had multiple extended absences due to injury, he’s been more productive recently. Over the past two weeks, Quickley has been a seventh-round player in eight- and nine-cat formats. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, he will not be able to build on this performance Saturday night. Quickley will not play against the Wizards.

Outside of three-pointers, Barnes filled the stat sheet Friday night. Over the past two weeks, the Raptors star has provided third-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats. With the Raptors prioritizing player development, the concern for fantasy managers is there may come a point when the team decides to give Barnes some time off. Hopefully, that won’t happen until the fantasy playoffs run their course. At a minimum, back-to-backs (the Raptors host the Wizards on Saturday) may be an issue in the short term.

Robinson started Friday’s game for Jakob Poeltl, who was rested for the first game of Toronto’s home back-to-back. While the rebounds, steals and blocks were helpful to fantasy managers, Robinson didn’t offer much else, shooting 3-of-10 from the field. Even if Poeltl plays against the Wizards on Saturday, Robinson should remain in the rotation. However, his ceiling is considerably lower when the Raptors’ starting center is available.

After coming off the bench in his first seven appearances as a Raptor, Lawson made his first start on Friday with RJ Barrett sidelined. Unfortunately, it did not go well for the two-way contract player. Lawson shot 1-of-9 from beyond the arc and offered minimal value in the other fantasy-relevant categories. With Friday’s game being the first of a back-to-back, he’ll likely have an opportunity to play rotation minutes in Saturday’s matchup with the Wizards. But there’s no need to consider streaming Lawson.

Walter suffered a strained right quad during the first half of Friday’s game and will not return. Garrett Temple has entered the rotation, but that’s because the Raptors are without multiple rotation players. There’s no need to consider adding Temple, even if Walter is out for an extended period. Walter finished with 14 points (5-of-12 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, two assists, one steal and two three-pointers in 18 minutes.

WCJ will be remembered for his final touch of the game, but he should get credit for getting the Magic a final chance to tie or win the game. On Chicago’s last possession, he knocked the ball away from Coby White and dove on the floor to cause a tie-up. He won the ensuing jump ball, setting the Magic up for at least one more shot. Paolo Banchero’s go-ahead three was a miss. Carter Jr. corralled the rebound, but instead of tipping it in, he came down with it and then dunked it after time expired. It was a heartbreaking end to Orlando’s fifth-straight loss.

Wagner added two boards, six assists, two steals and a block. It was a poor night in the efficiency department for Wagner, and it didn’t help that Paolo Banchero went 5-of-15 from the field. The star dup combined for 38 points on 11-of-33 shooting and failed to convert on their eight combined three-point attempts. Fortunately, all of Orlando’s starters scored at least 17 points to keep this one competitive, but Orlando has now dropped five straight. Wagner and Banchero will need to play better than this to stop the current skid, especially with a five-game road trip coming up that includes games against the Bucks, Rockets, Wolves and Cavs.

At Ingram’s introductory press conference, it was made clear that ensuring he’s healthy for the start of the 2025-26 season is the priority in Toronto. While increasing his on-court activity, the veteran forward remains limited to individual work, and the Raptors will provide a status update in two weeks. Nothing has changed regarding Anthony’s status for Thursday’s game against the Bulls; he remains questionable. However, the Magic point guard’s presence at the shootaround is a positive. With Cole Anthony sidelined, many were expecting Anthony Black to move into the starting lineup, but Joseph got his first starting nod since 2022. Joseph didn’t contribute much in his 26 minutes, and Anthony Black wasn’t able to do much in his 15 minutes, as he finished with five points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal. None of these three guards have been viable replacements for Jalen Suggs, who underwent season-ending surgery. Managers will likely have to look outside of Orlando for the best replacement for Suggs.

Banchero turned a lot of his weaknesses into strengths on Tuesday. Poor shooting percentages, an abundance of turnovers and a lack of defensive production have all limited Banchero’s value in nine-cat leagues, but that wasn’t the case on Tuesday. He set a new season-high for steals, shot the ball incredibly well and only had three turnovers. Managers shouldn’t expect this type of production from Banchero often, but it was a nice bonus in this game, and he hit some big shots down the stretch that nearly gave the Magic the win. They have two more games this week, with a home matchup against Chicago on Thursday up next.

With Gradey Dick (knee) sidelined for at least two weeks, this should be the first of many starts for Walter in the near future. It’s an excellent opportunity for the rookie, and he took advantage on Tuesday. Darko Rajakovic benched his starters at the end of the game, which was likely an effort to improve Toronto’s lottery odds. However, Walter didn’t seem to get the memo, and he hit a three-pointer with half a second left in the fourth quarter to five the Raptors the lead. The rookie is available in 99 percent of Yahoo! leagues, and Toronto has two more games this week.

Barnes struggled in Sunday’s win over Orlando, but he was more productive in the rematch on Tuesday. Barnes fell one rebound shy of tying his season-high, and he was able to contribute value across the board. Unfortunately, he was among the starters that were benched late in this game, and he didn’t play the final eight minutes of Tuesday’s win. The intention was likely to improve Toronto’s lottery odds, but the reserves still got the win. Still, that should be a red flag for fantasy managers. Keep an eye on the injury report moving forward.

Though Wagner was able to extend his streak of 25-point games to three, he wasn’t able to do enough to end Orlando’s losing streak, which now sits at four games. Unfortunately, Wagner wasn’t able to provide much else outside of points on Tuesday, which has been an issue for him since he returned from his extended absence. Sharing the court with Paolo Banchero certainly limits Wagner’s usage, and he hasn’t been able to contribute as many rebounds, assists and steals as he did earlier in the season. He was a fantasy superstar to start the year, but he has regressed back to being a mid-round player over the past month.

The two game series in Orlando between these teams featured two eerily similar games. Barrett scored 20 points while shooting at least 50 percent from the field in both, and Toronto won two games that came down to the wire. That seemed to work against what they wanted to happen, as Barrett was among the starters that were pulled from the game late to try and help the Raptors improve their lottery odds. It didn’t work, which is a bit concerning for managers that have Barrett rostered. Hopefully he’ll continue to suit up, but managers should keep a close eye on the injury report.
