Holiday returned in Wednesday’s loss against the Pistons after sitting out Tuesday. Brown sat out Wednesday. Players like Sam Hauser and Payton Pritchard should see more run against the Cavs if Brown or Holiday are forced to sit, though it’s hard to recommend streaming into the Cavs defense.

Kornet has missed Boston’s last two games, but there is a chance that he returns for the matchup between the top two teams in the East. However, with neither Kristaps Porzingis nor Al Horford on the injury report, Kornet won’t play enough to provide standard league value.

Gordon had an underwhelming first season with the 76ers. The sharpshooter was been efficient from deep but is set to finish the year averaging less than 11.0 points per game for the first time in his career. It appears he won’t play again unless Philadelphia makes a playoff push based on this timeline. Gordon, 36, holds a player option for the 2025-26 season and appears likely to pick it up based on how this season ended.

George announced earlier Wednesday that he would put his podcast on hiatus to focus on getting the 76ers back on track, but that wasn’t enough to keep the team from losing a ninth straight game. However, George’s stat line against the Knicks was solid by fantasy standards, as he shot 45 percent from the field and finished one blocked shot shy of a complete line. Over the past two weeks, George has provided third-round value in eight-cat formats. However, he and the 76ers face a challenging climb for the rest of the season, especially if Joel Embiid (knee) cannot return anytime soon.

Maxey finished Wednesday’s defeat with a gaudy point tally, the tenth time in 14 games that he’s scored at least 30 points. However, it’s clear that Maxey’s injured pinky finger on his right (shooting) hand is having an impact. The 76ers guard missed all 10 of his three-point attempts Wednesday night, but the Knicks could not stay in front of him defensively. With Philadelphia suffering a ninth consecutive defeat, it’s fair to question if there will be a point when the team uses Maxey’s finger injury as a reason to shut him down. We haven’t reached that point yet, which is good news for those who have him rostered.

With Joel Embiid (knee) and Guerschon Yabusele (eye) out, Drummond moved into the starting lineup Wednesday night. While the scoring output was limited, the rebounds, assists and steals can be helpful to deep-league managers. During the game, ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbarth reported that there may be more clarity regarding Embiid’s status coming within the next 48 hours, which will impact Drummond’s fantasy prospects for the rest of the season. Rostered in 11 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he may become a “must-add” player by the end of Week 17.

In an infuriating season for 76ers fans, Oubre has been one of the few bright spots. And he’s come through for fantasy managers recently, providing sixth-round value in eight-cat formats over the past three weeks. Oubre scored 19 points in the first half of Wednesday’s loss, keeping the 76ers within striking distance before Tyrese Maxey got going (inside the arc, at least) after halftime. Oubre is rostered in 67 percent of Yahoo! leagues, and that number may increase if Joel Embiid (knee) gets shut down for the rest of the season.

One night removed from struggling with his shot in Toronto, Tatum made more than 50 percent of his attempts against the Pistons. However, with the Celtics shooting 41.3 percent as a team, the six-time All-Star missed out on some assists. Not having Jaylen Brown (thigh) on the court didn’t do Tatum any favors, but an extended absence may raise his fantasy ceiling due to the need for more scoring. Boston plays twice more during Week 17, starting with the Cavaliers on Friday.

While Porzingis managed to finish Wednesday’s defeat in double figures, it was a struggle. He shot 2-of-8 inside the arc and had limited impact on the glass and as a defender beyond the three steals. Given the sudden illness that kept him out of Tuesday’s win over the Raptors, it’s fair to wonder if Porzingis was still feeling the effects against the improved Pistons. He’ll look to get back to his usual self on Friday when the Celtics host the Cavaliers in a highly-anticipated Eastern Conference showdown.

With Jaylen Brown (thigh) sidelined, Horford was in the starting lineup after sitting out Tuesday’s win over the Raptors for rest reasons. Nine of his 10 attempts were from beyond the arc, and the 38-year-old hit double digits in rebounds for the third time in his last five outings. Like Jrue Holiday, Horford has been more valuable to the Celtics than to fantasy managers this season, sitting outside the top 100 in eight- and nine-cat formats. If Brown remains out, however, Horford’s fantasy ceiling will be raised.

Holiday returned to the Celtics lineup after sitting out Tuesday’s win over the Raptors, and the veteran guard had a rough night in Detroit. He missed all five three-point attempts and did not record any defensive stats. While Holiday did give fantasy managers six assists to work with, this has been a disappointing season for him regarding fantasy value. The Celtics are more concerned about him being healthy and playing his best basketball going into the postseason, not his production in the second game of a late February back-to-back.

Holiday, Horford and Porzingis are available after sitting out Tuesday’s win over the Raptors, but the Celtics are without Jaylen Brown (thigh). As a result, Horford will start rather than be the first player off the bench. Due to Brown’s absence, Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser will have added value as reserves.

Grimes is available after injuring his knee during Monday’s loss to the Bulls, and he has been a consistent starter recently. Look for him to retain that role against the team that selected him in the 2021 draft. As for Edwards, the rookie can provide value off the bench, and he may be increasingly valuable during the “silly season.”

Brown suffered a left thigh contusion during Tuesday’s win over the Raptors, with the injury initially believed to be a bone bruise. Jrue Holiday is available, meaning the Celtics will only be without one starter. Al Horford will move into the starting lineup.

Porzingis is available after being a late scratch for Tuesday’s win in Toronto. Hauser was one of the replacements in the starting lineup, as the Celtics were also without Jrue Holiday and Al Horford. With Jaylen Brown (leg) ruled out for Wednesday, Hauser will play additional minutes despite being a reserve. If so, he would be worth streaming in deep leagues.

Porzingis, Kornet and Al Horford all sat Tuesday. Horford is on track to return to the lineup, but Porzingis could miss both legs of the back-to-back set. Torrey Craig started at center on Wednesday, though he only logged 15 minutes. Neemias Queta saw 20 minutes off the bench and was the better fantasy option. If Porzingis is ultimately ruled out, expect Horford to be the biggest beneficiary, with Queta offering some deeper-league value.

Brown suffered a bone bruise in the second half of Tuesday’s win over Toronto, and he may be forced to sit for the second half of Boston’s back-to-back set. If Hauser is available and Brown isn’t, the former could see some additional run. If both are out, more work could be available for Payton Pritchard and Al Horford.
