Ja Morant wasn’t the only culprit in the Grizzlies’ loss to the Rockets on Wednesday. Jackson had his lowest scoring output of the season with nine points on six attempts from the field. This was just the second time in eight games that the 26-year-old power forward shot worse than 50 percent in a game. Jackson is certainly better than this, but if he was more aggressive in getting shots up he wouldn’t have to be so efficient to get his points. If the Grizzlies are going to stop this three-game losing streak from growing, they’re going to need Jackson, who they signed to a max contract this offseason, to step up.

Since winning the season opener against the Pelicans, the Grizzlies are 2-6. After Tuesday’s game, Morant said he doesn’t have his usual joy this year. It’s unlikely that he feels any differently after another loss Wednesday, this time to the Rockets and the Grizzlies’ third loss in a row. Morant is averaging 14.3 points per game on 28.6 percent shooting and four turnovers per game during the losing streak. It doesn’t get much easier for the 26-year-old point guard with home matchups against the Mavericks and Thunder on tap this weekend.

Rostered in 12 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Dunn is providing top-100 value in nine-cat formats. While he hasn’t done much scoring and is shooting 66.7 percent from the foul line, the consistently full stat lines show that he’s more valuable than some may give him credit for. Dunn’s fantasy value may slip once Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks return from their respective injuries, but he’ll remain in the starting lineup, which should give him a relatively high floor.

While it’s still early, the Suns’ handling of Williams has been a success. He finished Tuesday’s victory with his third double-double, including a season-high 16 rebounds. Williams has appeared in seven of Phoenix’s eight games, providing sixth-round value in nine-cat formats. Phoenix has kept him in the 25-28 minute range over the last three games, yet he’s still providing solid fantasy value. That bodes well for Williams’ future, especially if it ensures he’ll be consistently available.

Averaging 31.0 points per game, Booker has scored at least 30 points in six of the Suns’ first eight games. While he was responsible for five turnovers, that’s to be expected given the attention he received from the Warriors defensively. However, he still shot over 50 percent from the field and is making 51.6 percent of his attempts on the season. Booker’s average of 4.3 turnovers per game has resulted in a two-round gap between his eight- and nine-cat values, but fantasy managers should not be too concerned about that.

Dunn was initially probable for Tuesday’s game, so his status upgrade was unsurprising. Livers is back after missing Sunday’s win over the Spurs with a right hip contusion. Jackson set his season-high for scoring in a second straight game. After scoring 20 points against Toronto on Sunday, he exceeded that mark against Detroit as the Grizzlies dropped a third straight game. Jackson’s scoring has been down early on this season, mostly due to seeing fewer shot attempts. However, he’s shooting efficiently, which helps make up for the lack of volume. He’ll look to make it three straight 20-point outings when they take on the Rockets on Wednesday.

Coward has cooled off a bit after a scorching hot start to his career, but he has still been solid off the bench. He played a career-high 31 minutes in this game, which was more than both Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (25) and Jaylen Wells (21). Wells had a rough shooting night, but this is a situation worth monitoring. Coward could make a move into the starting unit if he keeps playing this well.

After serving a one-game suspension for “conduct detrimental to the team”, Morant returned to his role as the Grizzlies’ starting point guard. It was a subpar shooting night, but he was able to record a double-double. After the game, he was asked if he has his usual joy, and he said “no.” Clearly, the saga in Memphis will continue, though winning does seems to cure all. One game removed from reaching double figures for the first time, Dunn established a new season-high point total on Sunday. The second-year forward’s fantasy ceiling is limited due to his offensive production, but he’s still offering top-100 value in nine-cat formats. While Booker’s streak of four straight 30-point games ended on Sunday, he did record his second points/assists double-double. The 13 dimes were the most in a game for the Suns star since March 14, when he hit that number against the Kings. With Jalen Green yet to make his Suns debut and Dillon Brooks out with a groin injury, Booker has found himself in a position similar to what happened far too often in previous seasons, having to shoulder even more of the offensive workload to compensate for missing “sidekicks.” Phoenix plays three games during Week 3, starting with the Warriors on Tuesday.

JJJ scored a team-high in points on a night in which the Grizzlies were without their leading scorer, Ja Morant. With the efficient shooting, Jackson Jr. was able to reach the 20-point mark for the first time this season. The former Defensive Player of the Year didn’t land any stocks in this game, however, which has now happened in back-to-back games and for the third time already this season. Williams had better production in his second appearance of the season and was one of several Grizzlies players to provide value off the bench against the Raptors on Sunday. In just 21 minutes of action, his efficient shooting and contributions from beyond the arc allowed him to finish as one of Memphis’ top scorers on the evening, while also concluding as one of the team’s better facilitators. After scoring nine points or less in Phoenix’s first five games, Dunn cracked double figures on Friday. He also matched his career-high in rebounds, notching his fourth career double-double. Jackson isn’t the offensive catalyst that Ja Morant is for the Grizzlies, but he’s certainly one of the teams’ best players. The 26-year-old power forward had just two points in the second half as Memphis blew a 14-point halftime lead to the Lakers on Friday. Jackson was also fairly quiet in the other categories as he had four rebounds, one assist and no blocks or steals before he fouled out. Booker was 10-of-26 from the field on Wednesday, but an 11-of-26 night would have meant a Suns victory.
