Johnson was a late addition to the injury report in the second game of a back-to-back. He played just 14 minutes in Wednesday’s win over the Raptors, so the Spurs won’t have to cover many minutes if he’s out.

Castle played 28 minutes last night in a win over the Raptors and must have come up a little sore the next day. With the Spurs coming in as heavy favorites over the Nets, it would make sense for them to give Castle some rest. That would likely mean more minutes and usage for both Devin Vassell and Dylan Harper.

While the Raptors were able to neutralize Wembanyama on the offensive end of the floor, the Spurs phenom still blocked five shots on the night. Wemby and the Spurs have won ten straight games, their longest streak since January 2016. With the Spurs visiting the Nets on Thursday, it would be unsurprising if Wembanyama got the offensive numbers that he missed out on in Toronto.

While Fox had a good night shooting the basketball, the overall stat line was a bit lean. The assist tally was a season-low, a surprising development for a player who racked up seven helpers in Monday’s win over the Pistons. However, more concerning for category league managers has been Fox’s poor foul shooting. He made two of his eight attempts against the Raptors, dropping his percentage over the past two weeks to 54.5. While Fox has never been an elite foul shooter, his recent struggles have been a serious departure from the norm.

Vassell has been on a roll from beyond the arc recently, making at least five three-pointers in each of his last three appearances. The Spurs wing has connected on 14 of 23 attempts during this run, and his overall fantasy value has been excellent. Over the past week, Vassell has provided fifth-round per-game value in eight- and nine-cat formats, according to Basketball Monster. The Spurs visit the Nets on Thursday, and that has the potential to be another good night for Vassell.

In what was an ugly game offensively for both teams, Phoenix ended up on the wrong end of the scoreboard. This would’ve been their lowest-scoring outing of the season had they not just been held to 77 points in Sunday’s loss. They held the opposition to less than 100 points in both games, but they haven’t had much offensive juice. However, Gillespie was solid in both games. With Devin Booker (hip) and Dillon Brooks (hand) sidelined, Gillespie will continue to be one of the focal points offensively.

Wembanyama started off Week 18 of the fantasy season with a bang. The 22-year-old center had 21 points including two three-pointers, but really controlled this game by doing the dirty work with 17 rebounds, one steal and six blocks. Wembanyama and the Spurs pulled away in the third quarter and didn’t look back, which isn’t easy to do against one of the best teams in the league this year in Detroit. Gillespie was a must-roster player even with 11 games on Sunday because the Suns were missing Devin Booker, Dillon Brooks, Jordan Goodwin and Grayson Allen. Jalen Green only played 22 minutes. Gillespie predictably led the team in minutes with 33 and points with 18. Fox’s night was a mixed bag. While he shot the ball well and finished a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line, the point guard was also responsible for five turnovers. In limited minutes, Wemby did a little bit of everything in the rout of the Suns. He amassed six stocks, finished tied for second on the Spurs in points and assists, and was the only player on San Antonio to collect double-digit rebounds. Castle led all Spurs players in scoring on Thursday and only needed 21 minutes of game action to do so. The second-year guard shot efficiently and made good on most of his scoring opportunities while also contributing as a facilitator and disruptive defender. His minutes were low, potentially due to the large second-half lead the Spurs held or to the fact that he finished the game with five fouls. After scoring 25 points in a February 4 win over the Thunder, Johnson totaled 26 points in the three games that followed.
