Fantasy managers who added Collin Murray-Boyles in Poeltl’s absence should hold onto the rookie. He’ll have value both in the short term and over the long haul.

Harper injured his left calf during the second quarter of Sunday’s game and headed to the locker room almost immediately. While the rookie guard did rejoin his teammates on the bench during the second half, he did so while wearing a walking boot on his left foot. Johnson supplied the lone Spurs highlight from the team’s first loss of the season, throwing down a dunk on Suns center Mark Williams during the fourth quarter. Fantasy-wise, the story remains the same for Johnson, as he provides scoring and little else. With his scoring average decreasing each of the last three seasons and the Spurs strengthening their roster, Johnson offers a low fantasy ceiling. Rostered in nine percent of Yahoo! leagues, he’s ranked just inside the top-150, and that’s with the Spurs being without De’Aaron Fox and Jeremy Sochan, among others.

To say the Suns may have provided the rest of the NBA with the “blueprint” to defending Wembanyama would be an overstatement. However, they were excellent on Sunday, showing the 7-foot-3 phenom a variety of defensive looks. Traditional centers and wings like Royce O’Neale all had opportunities to guard Wembanyama, who was crowded on most of his touches. No matter how great the player, there’s no immunity to the occasional bad night. Wembanyama will look to bounce back when the Spurs visit the Lakers on Wednesday.

On a night when Victor Wembanyama was neutralized, Castle had one of his best performances of the season. The second-year guard was highly efficient, shooting over 50 percent from the field and committing two turnovers. The latter category has been an issue for Castle, who’s filling in at point guard for the injured De’Aaron Fox. He’s averaging 4.7 turnovers per game and has recorded five or more in four of six games. However, Castle has tallied 15 assists and four turnovers over his last two. He’s headed in the right direction, even if the Spurs suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday. San Antonio plays three games during Week 3, starting with the Lakers on Wednesday.

Ingram logged another productive stat line on Sunday, utilizing accurate shooting to finish the contest as one of Toronto’s best scorers. Nine of his 10 made field goals came inside the arc, while he also chipped in five free throws to help land his fifth 20-point outing of the season. The veteran forward has gotten off to a fast start in Toronto and is posting some of the best shooting splits of his career through seven games. He’ll look to stay hot against the Bucks on Tuesday.

Barnes did a little bit of everything on Sunday for the Raptors. On the offensive side, he was a productive scorer both inside and outside the arc while also functioning as the team’s primary facilitator. Meanwhile, he was the only Raptors player to log at least one steal and block on Sunday, with his six stocks marking a new season high. Barnes has gotten off to a productive start to his fifth NBA season and is displaying vastly improved three-point shooting thus far. If he can remain efficient from beyond the arc, he becomes even more valuable in fantasy leagues.

Despite a rough shooting night from beyond the arc, Barrett still finished as the game’s leading scorer on Sunday — high volume helped him nearly produce 30 points, as did contributions from the charity stripe. Yet, the seventh-year wing got his teammates involved along the way and recorded a season high in assists in the win. Barrett’s start to the season has yielded similar statistics to those of last year in Toronto, which suggests he should be able to maintain his current level of production throughout the year.

Wembanyama’s percentages on the final game day of Week 1 weren’t great, but that doesn’t matter much given the robust stat line. Once again, he filled out the stat sheet, including nine “stocks,” to help the Spurs avoid losing a game they led by as much as 26 before the Nets rallied. Even on nights when his shots aren’t falling at a high rate, Wembanyama will provide elite value because of his abilities as a rebounder and defender.
