The Pelicans aren’t playing for a postseason spot, but these late-season games are highly valuable to young players like Fears. While Barnes’ percentages were poor on Wednesday, the rebounds, assists and defensive stats were good. Regarding the shooting, it’s fair to wonder if Barnes’ left shoulder may be causing him some trouble, even though he’s a right-handed player. He shot 2-of-8 from the field in Tuesday’s loss to the Pistons and was only slightly better against Sacramento. The Raptors play games on Friday and Sunday, so Barnes won’t have to deal with another back-to-back this week.

With Wednesday’s game being the second in as many nights for the Raptors, Shead was inserted into the starting lineup with Brandon Ingram out. The second-year guard was solid, with the 16 points being the most he’s scored in a game since a January 11 game against the 76ers in which Shead put up 22. Add in the assists, defensive contributions and percentages, and Wednesday was a good night for the few streaming Shead.
