Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle made just one change to his starting lineup, replacing Jarace Walker with Sheppard. While he does not offer the same offensive ceiling, Sheppard is a solid defender who can be helpful in this matchup. It has been a scorching hot start to the year for George, and after scoring a season-high 33 points on Sunday, he surpassed that mark for a second straight game. George showed plenty of flashes through his first two seasons in the league, but he is currently averaging career-highs in both points and assists per game. His field goal percentage has still been rough, but that wasn’t an issue in this game, though that isn’t something fantasy managers should get used to.

Markkanen’s streak of 40-point games comes to a close after two, but he has scored at least 30 points in four straight games. His scoring tear has lasted all year in what has been a drastic improvement over his 2024-25 output. Markkanen is one of six players averaging at least 30 points per game this season and as the best scorer in Utah, that should continue moving forward.

Nurkić continues to provide solid value as the starting center in Utah. This was his third double-double of the year and the fifth straight game he has finished with at least 10 boards. Of course, it’s the assists and steals that set him apart, and he is averaging 6.3 dimes and 3.3 swipes over his last three games. Despite coming off the bench in each of his last four appearances, Collier has provided solid value to managers needing assists. He’s recorded seven helpers or more in four straight games and was a key factor in Sunday’s double-overtime victory. Collier and Brice Sensabaugh (16/6/1/1 with four three-pointers) played well enough to be part of Will Hardy’s closing lineup, with the former ramping up the pace and the latter providing valuable three-point shooting. Collier’s return from a hamstring injury has also impacted Walter Clayton Jr., who picked up a second straight DNP-CD on Sunday.

After not appearing in Utah’s first five games, Love has hit double figures in minutes in each of his last three appearances. He was productive against the Bulls, hitting double figures and finishing two rebounds shy of a double-double. Love is not in a position where he needs to be considered for any fantasy roster, even after Walker Kessler was ruled out for the remainder of the season. Siakam was one of the few bright spots for Indiana in this one as they fell to 1-12 overall to open the season. It’s officially the worst start to a season in franchise history. Not only are they without franchise cornerstone Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles), but they’re also without Aaron Nesmith (knee), Obi Topin (foot) and Bennedict Mathurin (toe) right now. The 31-year-old forward has picked up the slack from a scoring perspective recently, averaging 25 points over his last three games. He cooled off in the second quarter, finishing with just two points and was limited to just nine more during the entire second half. He and teammate Pascal Siakam were the lone Pacers in double figures as they struggled to put up points due to an avalanche of injuries to key contributors. Markkanen got off to a scorching-hot start to this game, scoring 25 points in just the first half. He was still effective after the break as well, but it wasn’t enough for the Jazz to get the win. It has been an excellent year for Markkanen, which has been great to see after a disappointing 2024-25 campaign. After a dramatic dip in scoring and shooting percentage, Markkanen is back to playing at an All-Star level. This 40-point performance was the second time he has eclipsed that threshold this season, with the first coming in his season-best 51-point night in October. Utah is likely heading back to the lottery, but Markkanen’s early success is a good thing for the future of the Jazz. Whether he’s used as a trade piece to bring back more draft capital or to help them turn into a competitive team next season, Markkanen playing well and increasing his trade value will help the Jazz long term.

Given the amount of time McConnell missed with a strained right hamstring, it’s unsurprising that he was on a minutes restriction Tuesday night. However, he only played 11 minutes and did not see any action after halftime. Those who stashed McConnell in an IL+ slot should remain patient, as his production in the 11 minutes he did play was promising. Siakam’s return from a one-game absence did not keep the Pacers from giving up 152 points on Tuesday, but he did provide fantasy managers with another solid stat line. Thus far, Spicy P is ranked outside the top-100 in eight- and nine-cat formats, providing greater value in the former. His usage has jumped by more than six percentage points from last season, but the Pacers’ lack of proven scorers has negatively impacted Siakam’s value. On a better version of this team, he would be an enticing “buy low” option. However, with Indiana now 1-10, managers who have Siakam rostered may be concerned about a potential late-season tank.

Coming off the bench for the second straight game, Collier was excellent in his 26 minutes. Not only did the second-year guard record his first double-double of the season, but he also committed only two turnovers. Collier’s ability to get others involved is what gives him value in deeper fantasy leagues, even if he continues to come off the bench. On Tuesday, he picked up the slack for starter Keyonte George (10/5/7), who shot 3-of-12 from the field. Nembhard finished Sunday’s defeat with a solid assist tally, but the field-goal percentage took a beating in Indiana’s final game of the week. However, the fact that he played 30 minutes or more in both games of the Pacers’ weekend back-to-back is far more critical, given the time he missed with a shoulder injury.
