Ingles played limited minutes in Wednesday’s win over the Wizards, as the Timberwolves won by a comfortable margin. His availability does not impact fantasy basketball, even with Jaden McDaniels (wrist) missing Wednesday’s victory.

Ingles, who re-signed with the Timberwolves on a one-year deal in July, did not play in the team’s preseason opener. Thursday afternoon, it was announced that the veteran guard had been diagnosed with a strained left groin and would be re-evaluated in one week. Ingles will be back for a 12th NBA season, and he’ll likely play a role similar to the one he played in 2024-25. The veteran logged just six minutes per game across 19 appearances for the Wolves a season ago, and he’ll be a locker room guy rather than an impactful, on-court option. Fantasy managers can safely leave him on the waiver wire in 2025-26 drafts.

The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski reported that head coach Chris Finch is starting Ingles because his family is at the game. His son Jacob, who is autistic, sat through an entire game for the first time; the sensory overload of the arena had previously been too much for him. However, Ingles didn’t see the floor. Finch is starting Ingles so that Jacob can see his dad play and start. It’s unclear how much Ingles will play, and he is replacing Mike Conley in the starting lineup. Conley should still see close to his typical workload.
