While his category league value is limited due to lackluster defensive production, Johnson is capable of coming through with the occasional big scoring night. The 27 points he scored against the Lakers were the most in a game for the Spurs forward since December 27, when he hit that number in a loss to the Jazz. Even with Johnson averaging 15.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, he has only offered 12th-round value in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks.

Johnson only needed 25 minutes to produce one of his best stat lines of the season. While he was not in the starting lineup, the Spurs not having De’Aaron Fox may have opened up a little more offense for Johnson. Rostered in 14 percent of Yahoo! leagues, the veteran forward has been an 11th-round player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. Johnson’s fantasy ceiling remains limited, but he may be worth a look if Fox isn’t back for Monday’s game against the Cavaliers.

Johnson was the unexpected X-factor in a highly-anticipated showdown between a pair of Western Conference heavyweights, draining a season-high five three-pointers to surpass the 20-point mark for the first time since November 30. The 26-year-old is a bit of an afterthought for San Antonio on most nights but he’s played over 20 minutes in seven of 10 games since the start of December.

Given his career track record in fantasy basketball, it would be understandable if some fantasy managers overlooked Johnson in seeking alternatives with Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle unavailable. However, he’s hit double figures in three straight, with Thursday’s performance being one of Johnson’s best this season. Rostered in 14 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he has provided eighth-round value in eight-cat formats over the past week.

Two days removed from recording his first double-double of the season, Johnson stepped up with another solid outing in the second game the Spurs have played since losing Victor Wembanyama to a calf strain. He hasn’t been the best category league option for most of his NBA career, but Johnson may be worth a look with Wemby and Stephon Castle unavailable. However, one can’t blame those who may want to see more before committing, as Keldon is ranked just outside the top-150 in nine-cat formats. He’s rostered in just 10 percent of Yahoo! leagues, so he won’t be hard to find on waiver wires.

Johnson could’ve had an even bigger night if he hadn’t gone 0-for-4 from beyond the arc, as he connected on all seven of his attempts inside it. He grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds to record his first double-double of the year. The 25-year-old doesn’t carry much fantasy appeal given San Antonio’s crowded scoring hierarchy, but he’s capable of providing useful production whenever someone like Victor Wembanyama is out.

Johnson supplied the lone Spurs highlight from the team’s first loss of the season, throwing down a dunk on Suns center Mark Williams during the fourth quarter. Fantasy-wise, the story remains the same for Johnson, as he provides scoring and little else. With his scoring average decreasing each of the last three seasons and the Spurs strengthening their roster, Johnson offers a low fantasy ceiling. Rostered in nine percent of Yahoo! leagues, he’s ranked just inside the top-150, and that’s with the Spurs being without De’Aaron Fox and Jeremy Sochan, among others.

Johnson’s fantasy value has been limited due to his inability to consistently provide value outside of points and rebounds. While he had a good afternoon shooting the basketball and was a factor on the glass, the limited assists and steals are why Johnson remains a deep-league option at best. Harrison Barnes’ slow start has resulted in a few more minutes for Johnson, it hasn’t done much to change his fantasy outlook.

After scoring 16 points in San Antonio’s preseason opener on Monday, Johnson was three points better Wednesday night. The Spurs have been without Stephon Castle for both games, allowing Johnson to run with the starters. While he is off to a promising start, the place within the rotation is why Johnson, who has never been a great option in category leagues, will offer limited value in 2025-26. At best, he’s someone to consider taking a late-round flier on, but there will likely be players with higher upsides still on the board.

After missing Friday’s game against the Suns, Johnson was available for San Antonio’s season finale. He ended up being their leading scorer off the bench to help them end the year on a high note. Johnson’s season was disappointing as his points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers and minutes all took a big hit. He averaged just 12.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 triples in a 23.9 minutes per game, though he was available for 77 games. He may not be a great fantasy option, but Johnson is a really strong reserve scorer for a Spurs team that should make a return to the postseason next year.

Johnson will be on the court for San Antonio’s season finale after sitting out Friday’s loss to the Suns. However, he may not be a lock to play significant minutes since the Spurs have nothing on the line. Malaki Branham and David Duke Jr., who aren’t as proven as Johnson, could play more on Sunday.

No surprise here as Johnson was listed as probable Friday against the Cavaliers. The 25-year-old small forward missed Wednesday’s game with a back injury and his return will significantly alter Julian Champagnie’s minutes.

Johnson is expected to be back after missing Wednesday’s game against Denver. Julian Champagnie took on extra minutes with both Johnson and Devin Vassell sidelined, but his role will decrease with both wings back.

Johnson was initially listed as questionable, but has since been ruled out with a back injury. With Devin Vassell and Jeremy Sochan also out, Julian Champagnie figures to play a significant role against the Nuggets Wednesday.

Johnson’s status for Wednesday is up in the air. Devin Vassell and Jeremy Sochan have already been ruled out, so Julian Champagnie has a great chance to step up into a larger role against Denver.

Johnson’s improved play since the All-Star break has been a positive development for fantasy managers who kept the faith. He has provided ninth-round value in nine-cat formats since the break, averaging 15.4 points per game on 54.6 percent shooting from the field. However, with Johnson’s limited production outside of points and rebounds, this may not be sustainable for an entire season. Despite his post-break improvements, Johnson remains outside the top 200 in season-long value in eight- and nine-cat formats. However, this is something for fantasy managers to concern themselves with for draft season, not Week 22, in which the Spurs will play four games.

Johnson has woken up a bit with his play in March as the injury to De’Aaron Fox has opened up some more playing time. The 25-year-old small forward had 23 points on 12 shots including two made three-pointers. Johnson also pulled down six rebounds and dished out three assists in 34 minutes off the bench. He’s in the midst of a hot stretch to end the season and has reliable playing time for a bench player.

March has been kind to Johnson up until San Antonio’s last two games. However, he was able to get back on track on Thursday and record his third double-double of the season and his first since January. This was also the fourth time in their last seven games that he has swiped at least two steals. He averages 0.7 steals over the course of the season and isn’t known for contributing defensive stats often, but this has been an improved stretch. If he can keep this going into next year, he may be a valuable player in category formats.

Though he is known for being a poor option in category formats, Johnson was able to make an impact across the board on Friday. Over San Antonio’s last four games, Johnson has averaged two steals and one block per game. His season averages are 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks, so managers shouldn’t expect the defensive production to continue. However, it has been a nice boost for the managers that have held onto him. He should continue to be a strong option for the rest of the season, though his game is typically catered for points leagues.

Rostered in 36 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Johnson has provided respectable fantasy value since the All-Star break. He has been a 10th-round player in nine-cat formats since the break, averaging 16.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.6 three-pointers per game. While Johnson doesn’t possess the upside of teammate Stephon Castle, injuries to other players have made him worthy of a look in 12-team leagues. And the Spurs have a good upcoming schedule, as they’ll play 12 games over weeks 20 through 22.

Johnson came up big in the second half of Monday’s game, scoring 20 of his 28 points after the break. That wasn’t enough for San Antonio to get the win, but he did tie his season-high for scoring, which he has now reached three times this season. Johnson isn’t a great option in category formats, but he is more than capable of getting hot and knocking down a ton of shots. They play Dallas again on Wednesday, and Johnson will look to keep the offensive production going.

Rostered in 34 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Johnson’s fantasy value has increased slightly since the All-Star break. The Spurs forward has provided 10th-round value in nine-cat formats since the break, approaching the top-100. Johnson finished Saturday’s victory with a complete stat line, the first he’s recorded since January 13. While his improved play is unlikely to push Johnson into the starting lineup, he deserves a longer look in standard leagues with Victor Wembanyama done for the season.

After scoring nine points on 4-of-13 shooting in the Spurs’ final two games before the All-Star break, Johnson has reached double figures in five straight. Surpassing the 20-point mark in two outings, including Wednesday’s defeat, he has been a top 100 player in eight-cat formats. With Devin Vassell (nine points, five rebounds, three assists and one three-pointer in 24 minutes) continuing to struggle, it wouldn’t be a terrible idea to consider rostering Johnson in the short term. He’s available in 69 percent of Yahoo! leagues, so he won’t be too difficult to find on the waiver wire.
