Wells was injured during a March 23 game against the Hawks, as he suffered a tendon avulsion fracture in his right great toe. The second-year wing played in 69 games this season, averaging 12.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.9 three-pointers in 26.4 minutes. Wells started slowly, playing his best basketball in February and March. He’s likely to be a late-round option, at best, in drafts next fall. However, it remains to be seen what the Grizzlies will do with Ja Morant and how that decision affects the entire roster.

Saturday’s game will be the third that Wells and Jerome have missed due to their respective injuries. Cedric Coward will continue to start for Wells, and he is worth rostering in deep leagues. As for Jerome, the Grizzlies may once again turn to Javon Small to run the show, especially since Walter Clayton Jr. is questionable.

Wells will remain out for a second consecutive game. Cedric Coward returned to the starting lineup on Wednesday and should remain there, even after Wells is cleared to return.

Wells will be unavailable for just the third time this season. Memphis could opt for a smaller starting unit by bumping Walter Clayton Jr. into the opening group, though DeJon Jarreau should see a bump in minutes regardless.

As with Cedric Coward, Wells’ reduced playing time could prove problematic during the fantasy playoff weeks. He logged 23 minutes on Monday and has exceeded 30 minutes just twice since the All-Star break. Wells’ final stat line was decent, but the Grizzlies have been more balanced in their offensive approach, especially on nights when Ty Jerome isn’t available. Memphis plays three more games in Week 21, starting with the Nuggets on Wednesday.

Wells is off the injury report after missing Friday’s loss to the Pistons. With Cedric Coward also off the report, they could start alongside each other on Monday.

Wells’ absence is of greater consequence to fantasy managers, due to his production and recent availability. Cedric Coward is available after sitting out Thursday’s loss to the Mavericks, and he should move into the starting lineup. Clayton’s continued absence means that Javon Small’s playing time is unlikely to take a hit.

Wells was active on both ends of the floor on Thursday. On offense, he was primarily a scorer, using the free-throw line and strong efficiency both inside and outside the arc to land good scoring production. He recorded a few stocks on the defensive end to boost his fantasy production before finishing with a solid final line in the loss. Wells continues to shoot the three-pointer well in his minutes. He shouldn’t be considered much more than a streaming option.

Limited to eight points in Saturday’s loss to the Clippers after reaching double figures in 14 of his previous 15 appearances, Wells started a new streak on Monday. However, limited production in the defensive categories has limited his value, especially in eight-cat formats. Wells had a good night against the Nets, and it’s a performance that fantasy managers hope he can build on moving forward.

Rostered in 19 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Wells’ production has picked up since the All-Star break. He has been an eighth-round player in eight-cat formats, according to Basketball Monster. That may not seem like much, but it is a significant improvement on Wells’ output earlier this season. The Grizzlies play once more in Week 19, as they host the Clippers on Saturday.

A double-digit scorer in 13 of his last 14 appearances, Wells has averaged 15.3 points on 53.2 percent shooting from the field since the All-Star break. While the production outside of points and three-pointers was lean on Tuesday, the second-year wing has been a top-100 player since the break. Rostered in 18 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Wells is worth a look in deeper leagues if he’s still on the waiver wire. The only issue is that Memphis plays just two more games in Week 19, starting with the Trail Blazers on Wednesday.

Wells has been a more consistent scorer for the Grizzlies over the last month, giving his fantasy ceiling a slight boost in the process. Since scoring six points in a January 28 loss to the Hornets, he’s averaged 14.5 points per game on 51.1 percent shooting from the field. The issue for Wells managers is that he has not provided much value outside of the points category, so the fantasy boost has not been as big as one would hope. The Grizzlies play three games in Week 19, starting with the Timberwolves on Tuesday.

A double-digit scorer in each of his last nine games, Wells matched his season-high with 25 points on Saturday. And he was highly efficient, missing just three of his 13 shot attempts. After an inconsistent start to the season, the second-year wing appears to have finally hit his stride. And with the Grizzlies embracing a rebuild, Wells could have added fantasy value during the silly season. Memphis begins a four-game Week 18 on Monday against the Kings.

Wells is available after sitting out Saturday’s loss to the Trail Blazers, which was Memphis’ second game in as many nights. His return means that Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will be bumped to the bench. KCP will remain in the rotation, but he should not be rostered in fantasy leagues.

The Grizzlies will be down numerous rotation guards for Saturday’s game. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is available, so he should figure prominently in the rotation, whether he starts or comes off the bench. Also, look for Jahmai Mashack to get more opportunities after playing solid minutes in Friday’s loss to Portland.

Wells is on track to sit out Saturday’s game after logging 27 minutes in Friday’s loss to Portland. The second-year wing is dealing with a sore left shoulder. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (rest) is off the injury report after not playing on Friday, so he may absorb some of the minutes that would have gone to Wells.

Wells has hit double figures in six of his last seven games, a solid way for the second-year wing to finish January after starting the month slowly. For fantasy managers, the hope is that Wells can get back to the level he reached in December, when he averaged 14.3 points on 45 percent shooting and hit double figures in 11 of 12 games. Given the way in which the Grizzlies are trending, seeing what Wells can offer offensively when given more freedom may become a priority after the All-Star break.

After six consecutive games of ten points or less, Wells snapped out of his slump on Wednesday. During that six-game run, the second-year guard shot 25.5 percent from the field, which obviously isn’t going to get it done for the Grizzlies or for fantasy managers. And Wednesday’s 18-point night occurred on a night when the guard shot 6-of-16 from the field. Wells is rostered in nine percent of Yahoo! leagues and with good reason, as the production has been inconsistent to put it kindly.

After a quiet first three quarters, Wells got hot in the fourth, shooting 5-of-8 from the field and scoring 15 points. For the sake of fantasy managers, it would have been nice to get a little more from Wells earlier in the game. With Ja Morant out and Cedric Coward leaving with an ankle injury, there was more room for the second-year wing to get shots. For his fantasy value to improve, Wells will need to be more aggressive offensively when the Grizzlies are at or near full strength.

Wells is good to go after initially being questionable for Friday night with a sore left hamstring. He’ll occupy his usual place in the starting lineup, but the second-year wing has been a disappointment in fantasy basketball this year.

Wells was initially listed as questionable with a sore left hamstring. Now it looks like the 22-year-old small forward will play Friday against the Lakers as he’s been upgraded to probable. Wells ranks outside the top-200 players in fantasy this season.

Wells is dealing with a sore left hamstring, which is why he is listed on the Grizzlies’ injury report. His absence would open up a spot in the starting lineup, with GG Jackson and Cam Spencer being potential replacements. Spencer has been the more consistently productive option, whether he starts (for Ja Morant) or comes off the bench.

With Ja Morant (ankle) unavailable, the Grizzlies decided to go big on Wednesday, with Brandon Clarke joining the starters. That may have opened some things up for Wells offensively, and the second-year wing extended his streak of double-digit scoring games to 10. Over the past two weeks, Wells has been a top-100 player in eight-cat formats, a significant improvement for a player ranked outside the top-200 for the season. Cedric Coward (13/5/3/1) continues to have superior season-long fantasy value, but the gap between him and Wells is shrinking.

Wells was solid on the offensive end on Monday, connecting on half of his shot attempts while getting some production from the free-throw line. Yet, his effort defending the Clippers’ James Harden all night long was impressive and significant in limiting the former MVP’s production — Wells’ counting stats won’t tell the full story of just how impactful he was in this game. Nevertheless, he’ll have a chance to extend his streak of double-digit scoring performances to 10 games on Wednesday against the Timberwolves.

Wells has been exceptional over the past two weeks, topping 15 points in six of his last seven games during that span, averaging 18.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.9 steals during that span. The 22-year-old guard continues to play big minutes with Ja Morant sidelined with a calf injury and should be rostered in most fantasy leagues at this juncture.

Wells had a rough start to the year, but he’s figured things out on offense during this five-game stretch. Over the last five games, he is averaging 19.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 3.0 triples per game while shooting 64.4 percent from the floor. This was his third 20-point outing of the season, with all of them coming during this stretch. He’s currently rostered in just 18 percent of Yahoo! leagues but should be comfortably streamed, as long as he continues to produce to this level.

While Wells wasn’t the most active participant in the Grizzlies’ offense, attempting five shots, he has reached double figures in four straight and five of his last six games. Rostered in 18 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Wells has been a top-100 player in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. He’s shot 53.1 percent from the field during this stretch, which has boosted the wing’s value despite his lack of defensive stats.

Two nights removed from recording his first 20-point game of the season, Wells dropped 25 points in New Orleans. The sudden scoring surge is an excellent development for the Grizzlies, who are still playing without Ja Morant. While Cedric Coward (12/9/4/0/1) remains the superior fantasy option, Wells has been a sixth-round player in nine-cat formats over the past week. Hopefully, he can build on the last two games, but consistency has been an issue for Wells this season.

Monday was a big night for Wells on the offensive end of the floor. Not only was this his first 20-point game of the season, but it was the seventh in which the second-year wing hit double figures. With Ja Morant out and Jaren Jackson Jr. and Zach Edey also dealing with injuries, this is a spot where Wells will need to provide more on the offensive end of the floor. The consistency hasn’t been there, which is why he’s rostered in just nine percent of Yahoo! leagues.

All eight of Wells’ shot attempts were from beyond the arc Wednesday night, which is somewhat surprising given the Grizzlies’ need to account for the offense lost when Desmond Bane was traded to Orlando. As a rookie, Wells had a three-point rate of 58 percent, so spending most of his time on the perimeter isn’t a departure from the norm. Hopefully, he’ll be more aggressive on offense as the season progresses, because the Grizzlies will need him to be.
