Fairchild had been out since May 30 with a dislocated finger. He’ll make the occasional appearance against left-handers, probably mostly as a pinch-hitter. Even with Ronald Acuña Jr. absent, Fairchild had just 36 plate appearances in the Braves’ 50 games before he got hurt.

Holmes gave up two hits, walked two and struck out 15. The 15 strikeouts were a career-high for Holmes and came just a day after Spencer Strider struck out 13 Rockies on Saturday. Holmes’ previous career high in strikeouts is nine, and he’s now struck out nine or more in three of his last four starts. Unfortunately, the Braves’ offense didn’t support Holmes and he was saddled with a loss against the worst team in baseball this year. The 29-year-old right-hander has a 3.97 ERA and his 3.47 xFIP shows more room for improvement. Holmes is set to face the Marlins on the road next weekend.

Stott has batted fifth or lower in seven of his past eight games since June 6. The 27-year-old speedster’s fantasy appeal takes a hit with the move to the lower third of Philadelphia’s lineup and is batting just .193 (21-for-109) with one homer and four steals over his last 30 games. He remains a borderline mixed-league option for fantasy purposes given the state of the second base position overall, but it might be time for managers to start considering alternatives on the free agent wire.

Semien drove in a run with a sacrifice fly off of Aaron Civale in the fifth inning that would prove to be the difference in the ballgame. He also doubled with two outs in the seventh inning but was left stranded there. Semien has hit .354/.418/.667 in 13 June games, raising his overall line on the season to .224/.305/.336 with seven homers, 30 RBI and six stolen bases.
