Top prospect Ronny Mauricio will get another opportunity at the hot corner while Mark Vientos (hamstring) continues his minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Syracuse. Baty, who has been slumping at the dish since the start of June, will sit out his second straight contest after suffering a groin injury during Sunday’s series finale against the Rays. He’s presumably day-to-day for now.

The final two runs came after he left the game in the eighth. Peterson struck out just three, but he kept the ball on the ground throughout and was rewarded with a couple of double plays. It would be his seventh straight quality start if only he’d been allowed to get one more out against the Rockies on May 30. Alas, he didn’t factor into the decision tonight after Reed Garrett blew the lead in the eighth. Peterson is due to take on the Phillies on Sunday.

Taylor also made a terrific catch on Austin Riley’s fly to deep center that ended the game in the Braves’ favor the 10th. Most wouldn’t have even bothered, since it was due to be a game-winning sac fly regardless, but Taylor made a great effort to run it down just in case Luke Williams, who was on third, assumed the ball would drop and declined to tag up. The homer off Spencer Schwellenbach was just Taylor’s second in 212 plate appearances this season.
