Mullins knocked a base hit in the second inning, then later took Tyler Anderson deep for a go-ahead, two-run blast in the sixth. It was his first home run since May 19 as he missed roughly two weeks with a hamstring injury. The 30-year-old outfielder is up to 11 homers while hitting .236/.324/.462 with 34 RBI and eight steals over 222 plate appearances.

It’s Holliday’s first day off since May 24. He’s been struggling a bit of late, hitting .248/.275/.421 with four homers and five steals over his last 30 games. There’s been zero indication that Baltimore is considering any alternatives for the leadoff spot. It’ll be Luis Vázquez getting his first start at the keystone.

It doesn’t seem like a good sign that the Tigers had fellow left-handed hitter Colt Keith hit in Meadows’ place against a right-hander, but it’s understandable, given that Meadows is just 6-for-42 since coming off the injured list. The good news is that Meadows’ exit velocity numbers are actually better than usual; he came into the day a 92.3 mph average exit velocity, a .262 xBA and a .499 xSLG. His defense will help keep him in the lineup until his luck changes on offense.

Buxton was in Sunday’s original lineup after suffering a left elbow contusion when he was hit by a pitch during Saturday’s game. It sounds like a precautionary decision to give him some extra rest. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.

Carter talked his way into Sunday’s lineup after showing up to the ballpark feeling ready to go. The 22-year-old has been dealing with some left wrist discomfort since Friday’s game. It’ll be Alejandro Osuna heading to the bench.
